The mattress was very soft but it didn’t spoil our stay.

Breakfast was fresh and croissants and eggs were still warm every morning without fail. Delicious. Such a good start to the day. The location was amazing - so peaceful and beautiful but also private so we had our own space. Alex was so happy to assist us with what we needed (for example) additional towels after beach trips, recommendations for places to visit and local shopping facilities. It was exceptionally clean and kitchen facilities were of a high quality. Our host also topped up supplies, such as dishwasher tablets and complementary tea bags, in our absence without our even asking him to so that added to the privacy and ease of our stay. Would definitely return.

Nothing , a small bench was in the living not a real sofa or chairs , nice chairs outside and the table chairs also, so no problem for us as the beds were great and are out most of the time .

Nice app we had the 2 bedroom with round stairs . Dog friendly place . Very clean and comfortable. Beautiful location only 20 min drive from the beach towns. Lovely and delicious breakfast delivered at your door. Nice beds Kind owner.

    Not much to say here.

We wanted a quiet weekend with our dog in the country side, and we got exactly that. The property is well located from the highway, from shops, restaurants and the main sight seeing attractions. Well worth the visit with Alex being a perfect host.

We were surprised about the sharing of the lounge / dining area , Which could have been a little uncomfortable with other guests. but that could have been our mistake and didn’t realise this about the booking. However we were lucky as there were no guests in the upstairs suite .

bedrooms were lovely and location was great for a quick overnight stay before going onto the channel tunnel

We had a fantastic stay at this beautiful bed and breakfast! The location is absolutely stunning - surrounded by small farms, peaceful forests, and gentle rolling hills, with plenty of space for the dogs to run freely. It’s only about 20 minutes from a gorgeous sandy beach and also just 20 minutes from the Eurotunnel, which made our return home really convenient. The B&B itself is full of character, an old barn tastefully converted into a stylish and comfortable home, with subtle African and Indian touches throughout the rooms that make it feel special. Our son had an entire huge room upstairs with his own private bathroom and toilet, while we enjoyed a spacious room downstairs with a separate hall, bathroom, and access to a cosy living room and a very well-equipped kitchen. Breakfast was absolutely delicious, with a wonderful selection to start the day. The host was extremely friendly, helpful, and made us feel very welcome. We will definitely be back here and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful, stylish, child and dog friendly stay near the coast.

I booked this lovely place having found it on Google maps after figuring out a close, pretty spot not too far from Calais. We arrived quite late but were welcomed by a lovely chap who showed us our apartment. It was warm and quirky and the table was laid for a proper French breakfast which only got us more excited. The rooms were comfy and facilities perfect for our two nights away. We will definitely swing again. Thanks

Expectation and amenities didn't meet reality

Whilst it was a duplex, the area containing the bed, table and chairs and a set of draws was bijou and we had nowhere to place our case without falling over it. We could have put it downstairs but that would mean trooping up and down repeatedly to get things. Expectations were high due to the long list of amenities attributed to our room. In reality the long list of amenities needs a reality check. For example, there is a small TV but it could not really meet the claimed to be a "flat screen tv"; there was a mini mini bar containing just 2 bottles of beer but there was no separate fridge - and the mini bar was too small to claim to be a usable fridge. The toiletries provided amounted to one bottle of shower/hair/hand gel that had to be shared between the bath, shower and sink. We didn't require it but I noted too that the amenities list included a fold up bed. Where this was or how in such a small space it could have been expanded is not clear. There were three available WiFi networks showing on our phones, but they were very intermittent and weak and none of then accepted the code provided anyway. One other annoying point was the claim of satellite channels. The only channels available were French which I don't mind, but as with many other things the expectation was much more!

We chose to stay here because location suited us being close to Calais and on our way home. It was a quiet and seemingly secure location which we also look for. The bed was comfortable and we slept well. The owner was welcoming and accommodating with request for an early breakfast which we appreciated.

A personal issue..the lighting was too cold white bulbs, needs to be change to warm light. Currently it was brutally harsh…this would completely change the ambiance of the room. So easy to do !!

Excellent stopover on way to Le Shuttle ..lovely room with balcony with a fabulous view. Breakfast delivered to room was very pleasant..

Everything was just as it should have been.

The whole experience at Alex Factory was nothing short of excellent. Late on a dark, stormy and windy evening where we were stranded on the Opal Coast due to some red tape with our dogs, we opted to go out of Calais and we found Alex Factory. Whilst you wouldn't pick it for its rather quirky name, the host was excellent; attentive, invisible and very welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble. We were welcomed and we were allowed to play it our way - we had a motorbike on a trailer which needed to be reloaded and he was happy for us to do that. In the morning, a delicious breakfast appeared like magic in the dining room - and the host popped in to see how we were doing. We will definitaly go and stay there again - next time under less adverse circumstances I hope.
