Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe shower in our room didn’t have a curtain or door so the bathroom flooded each time and we don’t believe this issue was ever addressed. Housekeeping was poor - they were slow not cleaning the room til the afternoon and only after we had asked 3 times for it to be done. As we had to use the towels to mop the floor it was important we had clean towels but this also seemed to be too difficult for them. Housekeeping also left the bedroom door wide open while not in the room. I had to raise the fact that a plug socket was lose and so dangerous. They could do with a few more sunbeds by the pool.
The staff are good, particularly the waiting staff. The restaurant is incredible and the food deserving of a Michelin star. The views are stunning. The breakfast is one of the best we’ve had in a hotel and reasonable too. The location is beautiful. Our room was generally lovely and was spacious, light and airy. The swimming pool was lovely and clean and mostly empty. I would definitely return if I was in the area.

United KingdomA few little issues which were a surprise in a Michelin hotel but none of them deal-breakers.... A broken kettle that wasn't replaced in the room (we were there 3 nights), bathroom door that clearly hadn't been dusted for months, the in room telephone (to call reception) did not work so was a designer paperweight, an incorrect invoice on departure. Some of the reception staff could learn customer services skills from their fabulous colleagues in the restaurant. I'm being deliberately picky because this is a superb place that is well worth staying at - smoothing a few rough edges would make it even better.
Wonderful peaceful location and very spacious rooms. Very comfortable. Breakfast exceptional and dinner outstanding. Lovely friendly staff, especially in the restaurant. A memorable stay.

United Stateswithout having a car, the location is a bit removed from the main train line and walking up to st paul de vence is not recommended as there is no sidewalk that goes all the way up. however, the bus line is very easy to navigate so that is definitely a plus!
we stayed here for our honeymoon and the property and the location felt very romantic and special. our room was very large and comfortable and the location was incredibly peaceful.

United KingdomIn it's day the hotel and the rooms would have been fabulous but we found the grounds and the rooms a little tired.
Nice hotel within easy driving distance of St Paul de Vence. The hotel receptionist was excellent, very friendly and knowledgeable. The room was large with a comfortable bed and all the usual amenities. There was also secure parking at the hotel. Good value accomodation so close to St Paul de Vence

United Arab EmiratesThe hotel is located in a beautiful little hameaux close to Tourrettes-sur-loup medieval village, it's very quiet there, the room is nice, the bathroom enormous with great bath amenities. I was only disappointed with the breakfast, in my opinion it was mediocre. But the rest was all good

United KingdomA bar or seating area other than the sofas in lobby would be great. Breakfast buffet was pleasant - just cheese (delicious), fruit, bread, croissants and juices, €30. I had to ask for the market lunch menu (very good) which I’d seen on website as I was initially offered the degustation and a la carte only. Sommelier brought the wrong wine but changed it when error was spotted.
Loved the Van Gogh junior suite with balcony. Quiet, safe, comfortable. Huge bed. Chocolate in room. Chef Alain Llorca greeted every table at lunch. The pool looked inviting though I spotted it too late to have a swim. Team - very busy and mainly very friendly.

FranceOutside of the restaurant, the space and pool are a little bit worn. Could do with a bit of love (paintwork, pool décor etc) but nothing dramatic. For the price I would expect some hot eggs, or cokes options for breakfast. Relatively limited buffet options.
Excellent service. Huge rooms. Great location and views. Extremely relaxed stay.

United KingdomGreat food and wine, great staff and great location- we loved our holiday here. It exceeded our expectations in every way and would highly recommend to family and friends. We have eaten in other Michelin restaurants in the area (including 3 star) and this was our favourite. The ambience of the place and the fab views of the countryside and St Paul de Vence when dining feel more special here. Our 5 days in our beautiful and spacious suite were so relaxing and flew in to fast. Our son and his partner had a delightful room also.

United StatesFor a 1 michelin star restaurant, in france no less, the wine was a let down. No wine pairing. The Som didn't speak any English (I realize its france and that's such an annoying expectation, but plenty of waiters spoke english who could have translated). We clearly still enjoyed ourselves, but yeah teeeny tiny annoyingly privileged ding. We booked and confirmed an airport transfer through the hotel concierge for 4:30am for a 7am flight and the car never showed up. If there wasn't the one uber awake in town we would have missed our flight.
Staff was lovely. Room was spacious and charming. Property was lush with views. Food was superb.
