How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewBreakfast was nice, staff was excellent, the bacon was fantastic.
No air-conditioning is a huge bummer during the summer, room gets very hot. A fan was provided, but the room gets stuffy. We couldn't leave the window either as there are no insect nets. Additionally the traffic outside is quite loud if you leave the window open. Overall I would say the hotel was okay, but the lack of air conditioning really killed us.

No air conditioning, very very noisy fan,, fence, not good in hot conditions. Spare bed sheets and sofa bed were not clean, and had itchy buddy soo night. Possibly dust mites. Bath needed unblocking as water filled up during showering.

Verified review1. The price was reasonable. 2. It was conveniently located near Geneva. 3. The room was spacious. 4. The room was well-equipped with a refrigerator, microwave oven, electric stove, kitchen utensils, and electric kettle, among other amenities. 5. Free parking was readily available.
1. A deposit of 100 EUR was required for each room, a detail that was unfortunately omitted during the booking process. 2. Room cleaning services were not provided, regardless of the length of stay. 3. Some staff members gave the impression of being rather stern. 4. The car charger was malfunctioning, a fact that was apparently known to the staff; I question why it remains advertised. 5. The beds were folding beds, and their comfort level was unfortunately quite low. 6. If you do not have access to a car, I would strongly advise against staying here. The location is quite isolated, with the nearest grocery store being 1.7 km away.

Regarding the €100 deposit: following your review, we noticed that the information was not properly displayed on Booking.com and have since taken action to correct this, so future guests won’t be caught off guard. Housekeeping is provided once a week for stays of 7 nights or more, as per our aparthotel standards. However, cleaning services can also be requested during your stay as an additional service — we offer several options based on your needs. You mentioned that some staff members “seemed rather stern.” We’re sorry if this affected your experience — we always aim to maintain a friendly yet professional attitude, and your comment will be shared with the team to ensure consistency. Concerning the EV charging station, thank you for your remark — we have removed the photo and will only reintroduce it once the issue is fully resolved. About the beds: we’d like to clarify that the folding beds you mention were extra beds added upon request. They are not the main beds. We do have a small number of folding guest beds (2 or 3), but most of our 15 extra beds are solid, non-folding, and designed for comfort. Lastly, while we are located just 15 minutes by car from Geneva’s city center, public transport to Geneva does run but at a lower frequency — usually once or twice per hour. We understand this may not suit all travelers, and we are happy to provide local transport tips to help guests plan ahead. When entered the room it was veeeery cold. The radiator in the bathroom didn't work at all which was not ok for a shower in the middle of winter. Also the radiator in the room way too small and took all night to warm up a bit still was cold in the room.

The carpet on the hallway looks old and dirty. Kitchen looks old too. On our first night my daughter used the stove to boil rice with smoke extractor on but it set off the fire alarm. My wife and my daughter went out to the reception to tell them it’s coming from our apartment however one unpleasant older lady staff came to our apartment screaming at my son. We never used the kitchen facility again to cook as we were afraid it will set off the alarm and you have to open the window when cooking.

The bathroom was full of someone else’s hair and there were many stains on the ceiling - not sure the room was cleaned properly. Also, the Tesla charger was broken, which is one of the main reasons we wanted to stay here…
