Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Romania- the room was very small - although the interaction with the owner was great, we would have liked to meet him - the bathtub in the in-house bathroom is in a place that you cannot really use, but fortunately there is a step-in shower in the basement (maybe the latter doesn't sound as much, but it is part of a very well equipped and modern bathroom)
+ old house with a very nice vibe + very clean room and house in general (also both bathrooms were spotless) + warm + well equipped kitchen + close to the bus station + very comfortable beds + very quiet place + parking space in front of the house + supermarket at less than 5 minutes walking

United KingdomThe small village supermarket at Sandvagar was closed indefinitely, but the hosts actually drove me, to and from, the much bigger one in the nearby town, so I could buy some food!
A list was left of good places to eat out, and at the top of the list was a nearby restaurant just up the road. The food was absolutely superb, especially the fish soup, and the ambience was so warm and welcoming.

FranceEverything was nice, so no bad things. One thing I can suggest is that for people who have problems with feet or elderly people it can be hard to go upstairs and downstairs since the steps are quite high and in old style. But it was not a problem neither for me nor for my husband. So I don’t have anything to say.
Super nice house with a unique atmosphere. The house looks more like a family house than a tourist place, so you feel like home. Équipement is more than good for cooking, so you feel easy and nice while cooking or spending time in the living room while having a dinner. Host is super easy going and was ok that we keep our luggage downstairs because our plane was in the evening. A shop opened from 8-20 at 1 min and bus stop 5 min by walk. Free parking if needed. Nice view from All The rooms. Shower in the basement and bath tub of the first floor. I had a great time and while cooking I met a lot of nice people since the kitchen and dining places are shared. Host is making small notes everywhere so no worries how to find a shower or where to put dishes. She even left us some tea and coffee and some other useful studs as sugar or food in the special area.

ItalyNothing actually
I loved the whole atmosphere of an old house which I found Cosy, quiet and sweet. Perhaps someone won't like this old fashioned style but I definitely did. The house was well furnished and had everything you need to feel comfortable. I've never met the host but a lot of nice messages were scattered throughout the whole house. It was a nice thing. About the shower, it is in the basement and it is reachable from a trap door, someone could find it creepy somehow, but to me it was one of most curious things there and I loved it as well. Overall, nothing for my experience, even though it wasn't perfect I felt myself at home.

Czech RepublicAs it is an older wooden building, the isolation is not great and from our room we could hear a lot what was happening in the rest of the house, so we got woken up quite a lot during the night by the other guests.
The house is very beautiful, it looks like nothing has changed since it was built. We really enjoyed this ''retro'' style. The house has everything you need : bathroom, kitchen, living room and is perfectly located next to many touristic attractions.

United KingdomThe Rooms are not well soundproofed and the door locks are very noisy. One person staying didn't seem to be on holiday, spent all day in his room on the phone/internet.
The location is good - SandaVagur has good local walks and a pretty church. The character house is well equipped with a good kitchen, hot showers, comfortable beds and decent parking. The bus stop and food shop are convenient.

PolandThe house is old and needs some modernising. The bath in the bathroom upstairs is not possible to use so the bathroom serves practically just as a toilet. To have a shower you have to go out of the house and go to the basement. The rooms are tiny and the beds are very narrow. The stairs to the first floor are very steep and might cause problems to less able guests. We were lucky to be the only guests there for most of our stay, otherwise it would be very noisy and cramped with more people in such a small space.
The guesthouse definitely has its charm with all the unique features from the last century. The Sandavagur village is a great location with beautiful scenery and some lovely hiking trails in the area. There is a little grocery shop nearby and a cafe' as well. The property was clean. The shower in the basement is new and comfortable to use. There is a free-to-use laundry right next to the shower room. The kitchen is small but well equipped with some food products free to use by guests.
