Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaWe can’t thank Clark, Dlisa and her family enough for the incredible memories we took away from our 3 week stay in August. My husband celebrated his 60th birthday while there and a lovo (traditional Fijian meal) was arranged. The experience was magical. All steps where shared with us so we got a true feeling of making a lovo. In addition to this we snorkelled for nama (sea grapes) that was part of the meal. The evening was filled with ukele and guitar playing to top off this very special experience with a great group of people. A day we will never forget. Clark shared tips and tricks around the market and filleted the fresh fish we purchased. As well as sharing local highlight spots for snorkelling and other activities. Dlisa’s bright and bubbly disposition welcomed us so warmly each day and had lots of local knowledge that she was happy to share with us too. The location is out of town however, it was very easy to grab a local bus at the end of the driveway, which added to the great experience. Taxis where very cheap to get to the airport or town for a meal when we didn’t want to self cater. The view from our room was very special with manicured tropical gardens and water views, making it a great spot to relax in.

AustraliaThe Lodge is 17 km past Savusavu, but that didn't bother us as we stocked up on groceries and snacks at the supermarket in Savusavu and cooked when we didn't go out for dinner. There is a pizza bar a few minutes drive away at the a nearby resort. The hot water is not super hot, but comfortable.
The bure we had was a spacious, clean and comfortable studio. High ceilings, comfy bed and lovely view to the garden and sea. Short walk to the beach where apparently you can snorkel. We didn't as I had an ear infection. The owner was very friendly and gave us a lot of helpful information when we arrived including bus timetables. We jumped on the bus (need a bus card) to Savusavu for a couple of $ and took taxis back at night (about F$24). The housekeeper was super friendly and brought us a simple but tasty breakfast every morning. Good kitchen facilities and reliable hot shower.

ItalyThe location is great with a coral reef right across the road, the bure are nice and tidy, the beach house is a piece of history and Luna (the house dog) is the nicest pup, but the staff is what makes your stay really special. Without even realising, you can just become part of the family and never want to leave. Many comments are about the distance from shops being an issue, but we just ended up buying some food to cook (every room has a kitchenette) in Savusavu every other day and getting fresh fruit off the land, so we never even felt the need to go to the nearby resort's restaurants.

FijiI didn't like the fact that I didn't spend a much more longer time there.
I can't say that I liked it; I loved it. Fiji Lodge Vosa Ni Ua is exceptional with its location, cute cottage and lovely staff support that truly makes it a home away from home. The communication with the owner - Clark Murphy is efficient and he makes it as seamless as possible. The lovely feel of the entire place and location makes it convenient for travel along the Hibiscus Highway with lovely nights accompanied by the signature "Vosa Ni Ua" or voice of the waves on the beach nearby. To put it simply, I loved everything about Fiji Lodge Vosa Ni Ua.

New ZealandIt is a little bit far from the main town. About 20 minutes drive. So it is recommended that you buy whatever you need before hand. Otherwise, everything else was great.

CanadaIt is not what we didn’t like. But it is convenient to rent a car as there are no restaurants and shops nearby.
The lodge is located in a quiet side of the island. Often when you are sitting on the deck, all you can hear is the wind and the waves from the ocean. It is very peaceful. The rooms are surrounded with the beautiful garden of tropical flowers and fruit. Clark is a great host, and we had an opportunity to meet his family and relatives who are also very kind people. Delisa made delicious local breakfast every morning. One day, she delivered some sweet bananas straight from their garden. We truly enjoyed our stay.

MalaysiaDistance from the maintown of Savusavu, could be inconvenient if you don't have a car. However there are buses passing by the lodge every now and then during day time so wasn't too bad for me. No phone reception so you can't really make phone calls but there is wifi.
Owner and staffs are nice. Love the quiet and serenity of this place. Room is spacious and has everything you need. Cooking facilities available in room. There is a water filter for drinking water.

United StatesWifi could use a boost.
Clark and Brenda were so much fun to work with. They shared their knowledge of kite surfing and ukulele freely. They are funny and fun loving. Liza was a great too. She lives on the property and works for the owners. Her daughter is adorable. They share a great deal about local culture and customs. The snorkeling was excellent and very clean along the beach. They have an excellent map to guide you to all the amazing features to discover. There’s a swim through for the real adventurer. Their compendium was great with lots of ideas on things to do while you’re there. Looking forward to returning! For the WiFi addicts like ourselves, we’d appreciate an upgrade in the system. Overall, it was one of the best places to to stay on the island.

FijiThe only issue we had was I found the communication around payment beforehand a bit confusing, with multiple emails from Booking, it could be a bit clearer - but not a big deal once we confirmed with the owner.
Great quiet place to enjoy the sea views and amazing coral reefs right in front. Super friendly welcome, made us feel at home quickly. Perfect place which has everything you need to do your own cooking, which we enjoyed. There were bikes and canoes available, though we just enjoyed snorkelling most of the day and then relaxing on the veranda.
