Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaIt would have been nice to have some more entertainment. It would be good if the cava and dancing/entertainment was on another night as well…
My daughter and I stayed in the dorms (I am 57), which were clean & comfortable and during our 6 night stay most people were very considerate with noise etc. Toilets are a bit of a walk away, however it is well light during the night & feels very safe. The amount of comfortable day beds etc around the pool was excellent. Staff are as always just amazing 😊

PolandI wish there were lockers in the dorm to lock your valuables instead of leaving them at the reception.
I stayed in the dorm, it was spacious and surprisingly quiet. The meal plan was amazing, delicious food, great choice with plant based options.

New ZealandTree house rooms. Public showers for treehouse rooms were horrible. Sometimes smelly, cold water with little or nearly no pressure, depending on time or what shower you went in. The beach front rooms had their own showers and these were excellent
The beach front rooms were excellent but because they were pre booked we had to spend two of the four nights in the tree house rooms. These were small , single beds and similar to a cabin at a campground. Not very nice. Great Staff, snorkeling was fantastic, and the mantaray experience out of this world!!

United StatesThe meal package was expensive and basically required.
The facilities were beautiful and well kept. The food was delicious and fresh each day. Perfect location. Tons of activities. Family oriented and brought people together for games and fun. Able to see the Mantas and clearly the staff protected their wildlife and cared for them.

New ZealandThe fixed menu is a bit of a pain with timeframes and selection and was inconsistent quality but overall good. Would be nice to be able to book the activities outside of the planned times as we missed a couple.
The staff where amazing, especially the ones working the bar next to the pool - location was great, good snorkelling, room was beautiful and comfortable.

United KingdomWe were really looking forward to this stay - our stay was good but here are a few things that really let the resort down: Meal plan is really expensive for what it is and service is often relatively slow, even just to order… The meal plan also gave you no flexibility and the often didn’t have some of the options available. The dessert offering was also quite poor. Pool is in the shade all day which was a shame and low tide made it impossible to swim in the sea - low tide hit either side of the middle of the day for all of our week long stay which meant there was nowhere to swim during the middle of the day. Obviously depending when you stay this might not be a problem at all. You can also not take kayaks out during low tide, which again meant this was not possible for most of the day… We were not fussed about sharing the showers as we knew we had taken the cheaper option of the treehouse bure, but there were only 5 showers for all 32 dorm guests and treehouse guests. These showers struggled for hot water when multiple were being used. Final thing was whilst sunset beach was lovely there were no amenities down that end of the resort, meaning to use the facilities or get a drink you had to go all of the way back!
The resort was really lovely! Manta ray snorkelling was well run and the dive centre was very accommodating, running dives three times a day. House reef on both sides was really good with some of the best coral I’ve seen on a house reefs, although only really accessible at high tide. This goes for both beaches. There was a decent range of food in the menu also and the staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. There were welcome drinks on arrival and the pool area was really nice with bean bags and plenty of sun beds to relax on! Activities staff were also really good, constantly singing songs and even spotting mantas on the house reef! Sunset beach was lovely to watch the sunset each night with a drink! Food was on the whole tasty with big portion sizes. Treehouse bure was basic but ok and the toilets were ok, if not a bit of a walk…

AustraliaAll was absolutely good
I stayed in the dorm with many single beds, but unlike what you might expect from a hostel, it was extremely clean. The beds and mattresses were comfortable, the food was amazing, and the beach and snorkeling were incredible. The staff were super friendly, and the bathrooms very clean. Mantaray is definitely a place to return t

GermanyThe meal plan was too expensive for what it offered. Also of all the free activities that were advertised half of them were not available and for the others I had to ask many times. Of course paid activities were highly encouraged instead.
The coral reef is very healthy and there are so many fish! The resort is nice and clean. Staff is super friendly.

SpainThe meal plan is a mandatory add on and pretty expensive for what they offer, in my opinion. I would rather the mandatory aspect be removed and just let people order and pay what they want to from the menu, at proportionate prices

Gorgeous resort. Most amazing snorkelling right off the beach. Manta ray experience was incredible. Lovely staff. 32 bed dorm was much better than i thought it would be. Clever design separating them in to little pods of 4. Slept well. Big communal table for solo travellers was great.

AustraliaI had to buy quite a lot of water as the water provided wasn't good tasting. Some filtered water for guests would be suggested.
I love Mantaray resort and have visited more then once. Accommodation offers some affordable options for solo travellers. They have done upgrades since my last visit which was a nice surprise. The staff, reef and new pool are highlights.

NetherlandsComparing to other resorts, I find the service at the restaurant not the best. Sometimes you had to wait a long time for your food. It's not that the staff of the restaurant were not friendly, but more distance than at other resorts. I didn't really like the food, but that can be personal
Airconditioning in the dorm is great. Nice swimming pool. Paddleboards and kayak for free use, I would recommend to paddle to the little island across the sea because there you have the sun on the good side :) There were games organised in the evening, that was fun. The staff is very nice.

PortugalThe dormitory was too big, little privacy and lack of racks to hang clothes. Also, the food was mandaroty, since there was no restaurants around but in my opinion it should be included in the price.
Outdoor decoration, facilities and the food was fantastic! Also there was a huge coral reef at the beach, just in front of the resort.
