Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustriaThat you have to pay extra for the wifi - this is just ridiculous regarding the prices you pay per night… this is what makes guests annoyed. The gym is in terrible condition, almost everything is broken
The food was absolutely fantastic, we loved it. Staff is very friendly and lovely. The resort is huge, you can go for a run within the resort, which we loved. Adults only pool when you don’t want to be disturbed by splashing and screaming children.

New ZealandMy only complaint would be that there could have been a few more day bids around the adults, pool and possibly some more shade provided during the day But apart from that it was an amazing stay and there were lots of trees to get some shade under near the beach
The staff were really friendly and super helpful and the location cannot be faulted

New ZealandThere could have been more variety with the buffet breakfasts, which were more or less the same each day, so it got a bit tiring after 7 days! The WiFi was not free, quite expensive and worked variably. The gym was very tiny, dirty and in desperate need of an upgrade. The AC also did not work any of the days we were there. The "games room" was also very small with limited equipment and games. A few minor nuisances: - The back jets of the jacuzzi in our room did not work, and the switch for it was located quite a distance from the tub so you had to get out and walk a few meters to turn it on/off. - The shelf on the outdoor shower was too uneven with the stones so made it difficult to place any items onto it. I thought the price was overall a bit high given all of the above.
Every staff member we encountered was friendly and helpful. Our beachside bure location was excellent - just a short walk away from all the major facilities. It was also spacious and had all of the necessary amenities. We enjoyed the outdoor shower! The themed buffet dinners generally surpassed expectations - good variety and surprisingly high quality of most dishes. We appreciated the few inclusions such as the snorkel/flipper hire - there was amazing snorkelling in the reefs just a short distance from the shore! Kayak hire was also free. The evening entertainment of live music / shows every night, especially the Polynesian show!

New ZealandWe honestly had such a great time that there’s not much to complain about — just a few things worth noting for future guests. Our Garden Bure could use a bit of a refresh, as the tiles and paint were looking a little tired, the couch was stained, and the floors had some scratches. It didn’t bother us much since we were out enjoying the island most of the time. Also, the island is completely cash-free, so everything gets charged to your room — you can still use cash to settle your bill at the end, but it’s good to know in advance. Washing is $11 per load for the washing machine and $11 for the dryer. Some of the gym equipment was out of order, and our shower temperature was a bit temperamental, going cold after a few minutes before heating up again. None of these things spoiled our stay at all — just little points to be aware of so you’re prepared.
We had an amazing stay at Mana Island, Fiji! The beautiful white sand beach and excellent snorkeling off the North Beach were absolute highlights — the underwater life was stunning. The pool was awesome, and the cocktails were delicious. We loved the variety of food at both breakfast and dinner, and it was great that meals were included in the cost. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making us feel at home from the moment we arrived. There were so many cool free activities for both kids and adults throughout the day — from touch rugby games to table tennis — so there was never a dull moment. The Friday night fire show is a must-watch, and taking the truck to the west side to watch the sunset was pure magic. Highly recommend for families, couples, and anyone wanting a slice of island paradise!

New ZealandWe had an ocean front suite which was a bit tired looking. Bathrooms had been done up which was nice but the covers on the couches made them look worse. Some rooms had coffee tables in them, ours did not. Furniture could have been updated or cleaned as they were a bit run down too.
Beautiful location, great staff and food was nice.

AustraliaOur bure didn’t have outdoor furniture; however, some was delivered after a day. The buffet meals were good but we were disappointed that there wasn’t much offering of local Fijian options.
The rooms are clean, spacious and comfortable. The bed was also lovely and comfortable. Free use of snorkelling equipment was greatly appreciated.

United StatesSome of my family and friends got sick from eating some food which gave them diarrhea and vomiting. They had to get treated at the clinic as well as other guests. Maybe it was some kind of food poisoning or something.
Everything, especially the fire shows, dances and bonfires. The staff were very friendly. The buggy rides to our room and other places in the Island. The drivers were so amazing.

AustraliaGetting a buggy car back to your room, sometimes could take a while, but not a big issue!
The resort was really beautiful. They have so many daily activities which is amazing. Food was really delicious and staff is super helpful and accommodating. Snorkelling was the best of the island!! We also had to see the nurse while we were there and that was good service. The snorkelling/shark tours/scuba diving that they offer with Aqua Trek was an amazing service that I would definitely recommend.

AustraliaThe rooms and other areas really need maintenance - this lets down the wonderful service provided by the staff. General repairs are needed wherever you look, warm water when showering is intermittent, the furniture in the room is very old and very uncomfortable, and there are no plug points for charging phones, etc.
Loved all the staff, who were exceptionally friendly and helpful! Snorkelling was a highlight, along with the enjoyable buffets and relaxing by the pool.

United KingdomThe WiFi ! It's not great and it's not free. Some of the gym machines need a little maintenance. Some of the rooms are being maintained so there is building work going on though we did not find it intrusive. The restaurant could do with some lighter lunch options.
Mana Island is gorgeous and getting there on the ferry from Denerau was a delightful way to arrive. The room was very comfortable and clean and the outdoor shower was very welcome. The staff were great. We visited at the end of January and had two sunny days, one dry but cloudy day and one day where it didn't stop raining. The band playing in the evenings was superb, and several other items in the entertainments programme were interesting, such as tree planting. Kayak and snorkel hire was free and well organised. The snorkelling was great and there is a roped-off area on one of the beaches for safer swimming and snorkelling. There's a small gym and a couple of beautiful swimming pools.

AustraliaThe facilities were very run down. While we were expecting some wear and tear (from previous reviews), we did not expect trip hazards and broken glass. Having said this they are currently undergoing renovations, so I expect the situation to change, just good to be a little extra careful. It is worth noting there is no free WiFi. They do provide an additional wifi package that allows two devices to be logged in, this was not a big issue for us (nice to be able to switch off) but might be for others and is a little bit of an annoyance if you do not realise until check in. Another thing to note is that the resort have a number of dogs that roam freely. While I think most guests enjoyed their company, if you are not a fan of dogs I would think twice about staying here.
Location was lovely, staff were very friendly and beds comfortable and overall clean. Buffet dinners and breakfast had a lot of variety and live cooking was tasty. We had a lovely stay overall.

AustraliaThe Teppanyaki restaurant was very disappointing. Food was horrible and expensive for what was received. Not like Japanese food at all - 3/8 courses ok. Unengaging chef, no display of talents or diner experience. Choose the buffet only!

AustraliaWe couldn’t help but feel that everything that was not included was unreasonably expensive, e.g. a bottle of water was 8FJD, snorkeling trips 100FJD, internet 20FJD. Internet is not included so better download an eSIM package before. The backpacker dive centre at the south beach offers everything much cheaper and more flexibly. The sand cay and turtle patch are awesome, saw sharks and turtles. There is no proper store on the island (only a snack/drink kiosk), so bring what you need from the main island. Breakfast ended at 9:30am which is too early for holiday makers and had very little variety. The mattresses are really hard, but that’s personal preference. We still enjoyed our stay but it’s good to know these things before.
We loved the beautiful island, the friendly staff, the pool and the variety of food for dinner. Snorkeling off the north beach was great with coral and lots of fish species to see during high tide. The transfer to the island is easy and everything is taken care of. You can drink the tap water and air con was great. Sunset beach is also beautiful. The deluxe bures were spacious with a spectacular beach view of the north beach. I loved the coral planting activity on Fridays, gives the stay a bit more meaning.
