How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewAwesome true fijian experience with the most lovely family that really take care of you and on such a wonderful little island. Beautiful snorkel spots around the island, great beaches and walks with scenic views of other islands and turquoise waters. Can’t recommend more to everyone who wants to experience an authentic and beautiful stay in the Yasawa Islands in Fiji.

Verified reviewNice stay in Yasawa islands! If you are addicted to snorkelling and you want to relax giving up some unnecessary luxury comfort, this place is perfect for you! Nice bungalows close to beautiful private beach, few guests, perfect privacy! The staff is nice family that gives you the warmest welcome. Hand-made food is good and filtered water is available, no need of bottled water. The island is very nice and small so activities can be done by boat but also quite easily by foot. We recommend and hope to return one day!

Verified reviewThe moment I stepped off the boat I felt at home. The atmosphere there is one of peace and tranquility. The bed was comfortable and they provided solar lights and fans. With the windows open and the incredible sound of the ocean and wind coming through at night I didn’t need the fan too much but was nice to have it for the less windy night. The food was fresh and delicious. The beach was lovely for walks down to the tea house and to sit and swim in the water. We went out hand line fishing and managed to catch some fish and see some turtles at sunset. Had a massage before breakfast on the beach and went to mass in the church. It was such a pleasure to meet the family there and the children will forever live in my heart. Will miss you all and take your smiles and goodness with me.
Would love to have some more places to sit rather than just on beach. Maybe some hammocks

Verified reviewGold Coast is beautiful. Super nice beach. The meals were great! Especially the breakfasts. We did a picnic on a private beach, while we snorkeled our host caught fish and our hostess prepared the fire to cook the fish over. Truly an authentic experience. We will be back

Verified reviewBeautiful location and food and staff was great
Unfortunately they over booked our room we had originally booked and got put in a private room next to dorm with shared bathroom. I was really looking forward to the property so was disappointed when this happened.

Verified reviewThe Family is very helpful and attentive, good atmosphere! We took a cooking class with Tea which was nice, as we learnt of Fijian Living and Cooking, the family was very welcoming. Great meals with loads of freshly caught fish. The room was basic but clean. Theres a nice hike (approx. 25Minutes) to the Blue Lagoon where you can snorkel. The beach right in front is beautiful&secluded.
We did not get the room which we booked as it was a mistake by the agent, so we had to share the bathroom with the dorm - we only got informed bout this at arrival. All is quite run down and the bathroom did not seem clean. The matress and pillow was not comfortable, it was lumpy. I do not understand why it is called „adults only“, there‘s many kids runing arround (fine by me, but it‘s in the name of the homestay🤷🏽♀️😅)

Verified reviewSuper location right on the beach. Tea ( hostess) was amazing very informative and food was lovely and very varied. Her little son Nico was a little charmer. Room was good size with good bathroom. Good hiking either on beach or over hill to Blue Lagoon. We were recommended Gold Coast by previous guest.
Needed brush to keep sand out of room and bed!

Verified reviewThe hosts, Illi and Johnny, were great. The food was good. The location is excellent, as you can do walks and hikes around on the island and to the other side. The beaches and water are nice. Everyone is friendly and happy. Its not a resort, its an actual homestay and a glimpse into their day to day life. It's very uplifting. No wifi, but you can charge your devices at the main house. Bring fj cash.
..... can't think of anything

Verified reviewExactly as advertised on the website, very relaxing place to holiday, with beach views and swimming just outside your cabin, very comfortable bed, also excellent food, available day trips etc. Very friendly owners who made me feel very much at home during my stay.
Other than slightly poor water pressure nothing of note to dislike about a stay in this accommodation.

Verified reviewJust wow... I didn't expect it would be so hard to say goodbye after only 2 nights at this amazing paradise! Thea and her family are not just hosts, when you stay here you truly become a member of the family. The food is just incredible. One day we went snorkeling to a lonely beach and they made us fresh fish directly at the beach. It was such an experience sitting underneath palm trees and eating with them. They truly have a good heart and if you want to experience the real Fiji (not the ones in resorts), visit Gold Coast. You will live in a small beach hut where you can watch the Sunrise lying in your bed. The hut also has a small bathroom and a cold shower (that doesn't feel cold). No electricity in the huts, but you get a solar light and you can charge your devices at anytime in the mainhouse. Those 2 days have been just amazing. Thank you so much for that!

Verified reviewWe had such a pleasant stay and loved living on a beach in a secluded island. It is a place to relax and disconnect. We were warmly welcomed by the family and started to feel like home pretty quickly. The facilities were simple as it is a homestay but comfortable, and Tia's prepared food was delicious. They offer a few activities, and we booked a visit to the Sawa-i-Lau caves, which was the funniest and the most beautiful cave visit I've ever experienced. We also stopped on the secluded picturesque beach and played coconut rugby with the family (kids were on the school holiday).

Verified reviewThe location is superb on a very beautiful beach with a very authentic island vibe. The cooking was always excellent and the staff was very helpful if you have appointments.
Unfortuantely, there were no hammocks as indicated on the pictures. The transfer to the Inn is not included and is not transparently listed. Communication is generally rather difficult, one example is, that the hostess changed during our stay and we've not been informed about this change at all. The shower sink kept getting stuck.

Verified reviewAmazing Homestay with lovely owners who were so friendly and went above and beyond with their hospitality. Great location with stunning beach front and fun coloured rooms! Couldn’t recommend enough. Also the kids were so polite and entertaining and made the stay so much more personable.
Only thing to say is there is no electricity like lights at night in the room but they have portable lights. Besides that no complaints lovely stay!

Verified reviewAmazing accomoadation on the island. Falling asleep with the sea breeze and hearing the waves crashing was amazing. The food was reasonably priced and every meal was delicious. There are paid activities but also plenty of free island exploring you can do on your own.
Limited to no sell phone service and no wifi. Turned out to be very nice but can be challenging for some. No electricity in the rooms but provide charging opportunities in main house.
