Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

New ZealandSo much plastic on the beach we collected over 7 large bags from past pool area to end of Bures. If staff could be clean this up like they do the gardens it would enhance the beach experience and protect the sea life.
It is only 30 mins by their red boat from mainland. Beachfront Bure was very nice and private. Snorkelling just in front on Bure was good, lots of fish. Great cocktails.

AustraliaWe had the all inclusive meal package but some dinner options weren’t available on the package/had to pay extra. Had to wait a while for staff to wait on you in the restaurant sometimes. Some aspects of the resort need upgrading but the rooms themselves were very comfortable. Had communication difficulties on arrival - we had booked the fast red boat transfer to the island and airport transfers however the driver left the airport before picking us up. Staff at the resort were helpful once I called them and we had to wait and extra 30 mins at the airport for pickup but didn’t matter overall because we then had to wait another 90mins at the port for the red boat timetable.
Beautiful beachfront Bure on the water, metres away from the beach with hammock. Free hire of snorkeling/kayaks/SUPs. Pool and deck area lovely. Meals and drinks were overall pretty good. Staff very friendly. All inclusive meals seemed like good value for money - we didn’t calculate the actual cost analysis but it feels free when you’re there!

AustraliaTV didn’t work and they couldn’t fix it.
Serenity Island was just wonderful. Not 5 star but if you want 5 star book somewhere on Denarau Island. Food was great. Plenty of it. I booked the 1/2 boarding menu and it was too much food for me (3 course dinner). There’s a little shop where you can buy an ice cream for Fiji $4.00 Water is provided on your first night then you can refill bottles for between Fiji $3-$6 depending on small or large bottle. You can also refill your bottle at meal time for free. Not sure why people complain about water being expensive, it’s not. Staff were just beautiful, helpful and so entertaining. A staff singing performance was held every night during dinner. The manager was wonderful, very friendly and spoke to all guests.

New ZealandThe TV could not connect to the Internet, would not have minded but it was there so you would expect it to work. The room flooded during strong winds and heavy rain but no damage done and it dried out quickly in the morning. Despite these things we would go back.
Friendly staff, quiet and beautiful location, convenient for the beach, comfortable room, relatively easy to get to, relaxing atmosphere, spacious restaurant with great view. Good snorkelling.

AustraliaIt is run down and very overpriced. Communication with staff is poor. There were issues with pre-booked activities being cancelled and refunds not being provided. The food was bad, service took forever and it was ridiculously priced. I had my sunglasses stolen.
Location is good- close to the mainland. It’s a beautiful island with a nice beach.

AustraliaRooms were a bit run down. Service at the restaurant was disappointing. Staff brought out the wrong meals, forgot meals and we were waiting an hour for food multiple times.
Great location, easy to get to and the snorkelling was beautiful. Really nice gardens and restaurant area. Fun to walk around the whole island. Pre-booked transfers to the island worked very smoothly.

AustraliaFacilities are looked tired. Part of the island was blocked off for construction and couldnt be accessed. Shower water pressure was very poor. Some meals were not available for the all inclusive package.
Great beaches and snorkling. Frirndly staff who made you welcome at all times. Quiet rooms. Good food and lovely drinks. Kyaks were available but not enough oars to go around. Lovely traditional singing from all the staff after the Saturday meal.

New ZealandThere isn’t heaps to do, but we loved relaxing by the ocean. The ferry only comes 3 times a day, so we found there was a bit of waiting around going there and waiting to go back to the main land. We unfortunately are still waiting for a refund of a candlelit dinner that we never did.
We loved the location and being right on the water. We could literally step outside and into the water for the most amazing snorkelling!

United KingdomReception staff were rude and didn't seem to know what they were doing. We were asked 4 times in 15 mins if we wanted to book trips and had 2 different people separately go through the orientation on arrival Paid extra for boat transfer and i think it was more luck that the boat was there when we got to the marina as they didn't know they were supposed to pick us up (they were there getting supplies) On arrival room was not ready, I had to ask multiple times despite it being past 4pm when we arrived. No Happy hour for the 3 nights we were there, no traditional dancing, just the same person singing the same songs every night Tried to charge me for the sandbar trip that I had paid for online before arriving, and it took over an hour before a manager was available to remove it from the bill . Poor communication between the 'office' and staff on the island
Location is beautiful and snorkelling was outstanding. Lovely beach. Room was right on the beachfront, clean and tidy. Staff at meal times were polite, friendly and food came quickly.

AustraliaThere were sadly a few let downs with our stay. Firstly, the pre-organised (and pre-charged for) transfers hadn't actually been booked with the ferry company. It took nearly an hour of back and forth on the phone while waiting at the ferry terminal before the booking was confirmed and we only just barely made it on to the boat before it departed. It then took a further two days talking to the resort staff before anyone could confirm the return trip had also been arranged. This was unnecessarily stressful, and I'm surprised it happened as I'd have thought it was something an island resort would be used to managing relatively seamlessly. To their credit, they did eventually fix these issues and sorted out an issue whereby they'd originally overcharged us for this booking, but it took talking to several different people before this was rectified. The bures were generally well maintained (if a little small), but the bathrooms were quite 'rustic'. There was also some clear signs of wear and tear around (loose floor boards, a post on our verandah that wasn't fixed in place) - and troublingly, the lock on our front door didn't work as it was misaligned with the door frame. It was also a shame to discover how limited the 'off island' excursions were. The website lists a bunch of experiences you can have to explore the nearby islands and the mainland, there's also a printed list of these at the reception titled 'Daily Activities'. When I went to enquire about these, the person at the reception took this list (looking a bit confused), they then put it away shaking their head saying 'no, it's only what's on the board'. The board she referred to was outside the reception area, it lists 1 or 2 excursions available each day. Sadly, most of the activities we were interested in didn't show up on this board during our 3 night stay, so we never really got to experience any of them.
The staff at Serenity Island were all incredibly friendly, and the surroundings were tranquil and idyllic. There's nothing quite like waking up in your bure and seeing the glistening seaside right out your window. There was some nice coral just offshore which you could swim to at high tide (at low tide it was even walkable with the water only coming up to knee height where the coral was).

United StatesWe had $200 stolen out of our locked room. So it was the staff. The management team said sorry, but you signed a waiver. The safe was broke. No tv in our cottage. One of the workers said that stealing happens often.

AustraliaWe declined room service on our second day - but didn’t realise that meant we didn’t get room service for the rest of our stay, until we asked on our 4th day. The staff were very responsive to sorting out our air conditioner when it stopped working and started dripping water, and did a full room clean when that happened.
The beach bures were so close to the beach, and the snorkelling was phenomenal -and straight off the beach! The water was so warm, and the coral is healthy and colourful. The fish are abundant and diverse - so many wrasse and parrotfish, and we saw squid, stingrays, painted crayfish and one reef shark. It was amazing!! We liked that while the resort is small and not super fancy (the rooms are nice but pretty basic) it has a quiet appeal, and the staff were friendly and it was lovely to get to know the same people and faces, that you see over and over again. The staff taught us some Fijian and were keen to help us and were friendly and full of smiles. The breakfasts were great, and you couldn’t get a better view while you eat your meals. The staff organised a JetSki safari for us for a half day, which was a highlight for our family, zipping around the islands and tying the jet skis up together to go snorkelling. We also arranged two SCUBA dives, which were wonderful - a wreck dive and a cruise dive, exploring beautiful coral bombies. The island is small (it takes less than 30 min to walk around it), and there is only one restaurant. We bought snacks and loved the chilled out vibe and serenity (pun intended) of the island.

AustraliaEven tough the room was new and ac perfect. The common areas need some love, deck all broken you need to be careful where you walk barefoot, no shade around the pool and public toilets in very bad state. Also, if you don’t pay all inclusive, meals and drinks are pricey.
So quiet, sea is beautiful, room is newly refurbished , rooms are 5 mtrs from the sea , I could swim from my room to the main bar ! Staff was so nice

The location is great for snorkeling and has a pretty good local reef clear water and good marine life. Good place to relax. Food Generally pretty good if you are not vegetarian, well not bad for island food.

AustraliaThe bathroom was nice but I would prefer a wall going all the way up to the ceiling to separate it from the rest of the room. I would have loved to have a happy hour from 5-6pm as drinks are pretty expensive.
The Bure’s are very beautiful, lots of different lighting, good storage and furniture. Glas door and windows to the front which lets light in but also lets the AC work properly. We left the shutters to the side always closed so cool air stays inside. Snorkelling right in front of our bure was great. The wooden walkways around the property were beautiful and light up at night. The gym was great. The turtle pond is beautiful too.

New ZealandFood was average, not much variety and some things not on the menu. The cost of transfer to the island is advertised at one price, but ends up costing a lot more. Over $1,500 NZD return for 6 people for a 20 mins boat. Makes the whole stay very costly.
Great bure’s, lovely staff, amazing snorkelling on the reef just off the beach.
