The property does not include any tea, coffee or extras like washing liquid for doing laundry. This seems pretty normal in Finland so no big deal. Just a bit different compared to typical experiences we have at home. Basically be prepared by bringing your own food or, like us, plan to go to the grocery store immediately upon arrival.

We stayed in Villa Asta. As a couple it was extremely spacious and well equipped. We loved the sauna and the easy access to the back deck so we could do cheeky snow baths in between sauna sessions. The Villa is situated in a forest area away from town. While there are other cabins nearby it felt quite private and quiet. We didn’t have a car but we found it quite okay; It’s about 30 min walk into town to get groceries, which we didn’t mind because there are plowed, well lit and well signposted walking paths all the way into town through the beautiful forest. There is also a cafe (Laanilan Savottakahvila) about 10-15 min walk into the opposite direction, which again was easy to walk to. You can also catch the ski bus from this cafe. We found the Villa to be warm and cozy. And we loved the large windows that look out into the winter forest.

Great host who met us on arrival. The house is wonderfully cosy, everything needed in the kitchen. Brilliant large sauna with access to the terrace to cool off in the cold with a beer! 5 minute drive down the hill to the town / Northern Lights village for the activities and 5 minutes drive up to the top of the fell for the ski resort. Saw the aurora from the terrace on the final night. We loved our stay! Kiitos !

Extra hand towels in the bathrooms would have been handy and some kitchen cloths for wiping benches. Not enough firewood - the amount supplied barely lasts 30mins. No sound proofing so it was fairly noisy with a house full of people. Showers were so small and water everywhere that they were impractical so we all used the sauna showers.

Stunning home. Comfy bedding. Less than 5mins to shops and slopes. Well appointed kitchen. Friendly host who provided great instructions on check in. Very clean. Great washing machine and dryer.

The villa simply exceeded our expectations. The owner / contact could not do enough to help us - everything we asked was sorted. The villa has every amenity you would need and is so cosy and beautiful. The pictures don't do it justice. We loved it for our 4 nights visiting in December 2024. Perfectly located as well. We would definitely like to visit again.

Lovely spacious lodge, in the middle of residential area, which wasn't touristy or commercial at all. Great place for families. Though it was a 2mile walk from village centre. Which we didn't mind, because we love walking. Just put the kids in sleighs and pulled them along. Lovely evening strolls back to the lodge. Used to get the ski bus into village from laanila, which is just 900m down the road.

We absolutely loved this villa. Natasha was the most wonderful host. Meeting us past 11pm for a late check in, saving us when we locked ourselves out and that's before we get on to the actual villa. It was in a perfect location, close to the village whilst feeling remote too. It was exceptionally well equipped with kitchen utensils, linens etc. The sauna was great and the dryer for snowy clothes a god send!

No window coverings in the living/kitchen so in winter when it is dark outside most of the day and lights are on inside, it is like living in a fish bowl. The neighbours and other people walking around (such as the guy driving the snow plough) can see straight in so the lack of privacy was a little uncomfortable. It would be a such a better house if there was a way to cover the windows in winter.

Wonderful, spacious villa with gorgeous views. Well-equipped kitchen with many plates, cooking utensils, etc. Sauna was great. Lots of comfy bedding and blankets.

Nothing we didn’t like but we did think there could have been some tea towels (there werent any!) and an option of a Welcome Hamper would have been useful. No complaints at all.

It was private, spacious and spotlessly clean. Great location, 5 mins drive out of town. There is a car port to stop the car getting too covered in snow and a useful porch. The Sauna and shower area was great. Only 25 mins from Ivalo airport! The host Natasha was wonderful and let us in and showed us round. They left present for my daughter under the Xmas tree which was a lovely touch! We loved it and will be back!

Only thing was the confusion of where the villa was! We thought we were staying at Villa Karhunpesä, but this is the name of the company I think? Our Villa was far away (3.5km) from some other villas called Villa Karhunpesä and was called Villa Asta. I wish it was a bit clearer as we used google maps and got a bit lost at first! Thankfully a local and the owner were super helpful and sorted us out

We can’t fault the property.

Fabulous location, stunning views, excellent facilities, very clean and plenty of space for 8 of us. We particularly enjoyed the open plan area for relaxing in the evening. Glass frontage was lovely, drying room was so useful and perfect number of bathroom/toilet facilities for all of us. Host was lovely, excellent communication and patience when we were late arriving due to airport delays. We would love to return again.

The house is very cold, we contacted the staff but they just simply said the temperature cant be adjusted and the weather outside is cold that day. This sounds very weird because in other place i stayed in finland every temperature can be adjusted, some even went to warm that i need to lower down the heater. This is very inconvenient since i am staying with elderly and young children, everyone was freezing. The sauna did not even work. The soap that they provide is only for one time use (they provide a normal shampoo bottle that you can get from groceries but with probably two pumps left). Appreciate the gesture but might as well no need to provide the shampoo or soap. Another thing to note is dont book this place if you are looking for a place that has aurora viewing possibilities because this place has bad light pollution (its like a housing complex with many things going on). Like i said i stayed in other house and i know one or two things about which location will be better for aurora viewings Note: there is no covered car parking so expect ur car to be covered in snow in the morning during winter.

It is a nicely decorated house with good facilities provided but not everything works. It has many proper bathrooms. Nice bedrooms size and very clean. Location wise, it is Quite near to groceries. Easy to find and easy to check in. Kitchen very well equipped. The staff are easily contacted( though not so helpful).
