How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewGood location, very close to the historic area. Staff is helpful and friendly. Breakfast is good, served in the bar located inside the hotel. Value for money.
I've got one of the rooms closest to the bar and the reception area, so a bit noisy during the day but fine at night. The room is a bit dated and not very clean: I've found some potato chips on the floor and several long hairs, even on the towel... Mattresses have given it all, you can feel the springs! Despite the above, given the price tag, I could stay again.

Verified reviewThe location was ideal for me. I found the hotel charming and comfortable. Small, family run hotel, where the service was friendly and exceptional.

Verified reviewThis is a family hotel and the staff give it a personal touch. I was very pleased with how they found a safe place to store my bicycle as I'm a bicigrino on the Vía de la Plata. Breakfast was good. I felt very welcome.
Towels are changed every other day, but it's not a big issue.

Verified reviewPerfectly located for us on the Via de la Plata. Sarah and the other staff were super friendly, helpful and professional. The room had everything that we needed, was well cleaned and the beds comfortable. Good tapas in the evening and breakfast in the morning in the bar. Great value too.

Verified reviewClose to train station, not far from old city. Friendly staff. Quiet at night. Everything in the room works.
Apparatus is old in the room. The shower door is barely shut after several tries and it will fall open during a shower, so shower quickly. TV is small, may be a 12 inch one, so that when sitting on the bed far end , can't see clearly what on TV. Room 105 is really small, but there are two beds, don't know how to accommodate two person, especially those 200 lbs big Americans.

I struggled sometimes to open the door and get the lights to work with the door key.

Some humidity stains on the bathroom ceiling.

Verified reviewThe best thing about the hotel was leaving. I left feeling the place is only good for the devil in hell looking for an alternative should hell ever become full. A number of rooms had a sewage pipe running over the ceiling, and boxed in, so there was this constant flow and sound of sewage water every 30 seconds. It looked like a rough part of the town, and deserted at most times. I was concerned for my safety. I wouldn't describe it as a family friendly hotel as I could hear, as there was no getting away from it, and as the walls are so thin, couples having sex. It's not somewhere I'd be happy to take a child to.
Thoroughly unprofessional, insulting to paying guests, and very disorganised. At one star, it has the lowest rating possible. 1. I fell ill shortly after I arrived, and I didn't leave my room for most of my stay. There was no heating daytime and I was cold so I took the sheets from the neighbouring twin bed in a bid to say warm. The hotel didn't do any cleaning while I was in the room or changed sheets, which was fine. However, as there was no extra expense for them, they wanted €60, 3x€20 per day. I felt a €60 bill for using some extra sheets was too high. Nevertheless, I would have been happy to pay any amount, had I been asked politely but Sara was screaming and demanding I pay. Her manners was highly inflammatory and very unprofessional. As none of my friends could speak Spanish and I was in pain I asked if you had contact details for a doctor. Her response: you are here with friends, get them to help. Don't ask me. I cannot give you drugs. (I wasn't asking for 'drugs') My friend in a twin room had a broken bed that was uncomfortable. So she swapped beds during the night. For this, the hotel also wanted €60, €3x€20. even though it was their bed that was broken. Sara said my friend should have told staff but hardly any of the staff can speak a word of English. It's impractical to expect a female to wonder the corridor of a hotel, during the night to then report an issue to someone who cannot communicate, even basically, in English. Originally my booking was for 5 rooms for 5 people. But after paying, a 6th friend wanted to join us. I spent 4 months with an email history with the hotel trying to pay but it was them who wouldn't accept payment in advance. For visa purposes they wouldn't change the name to add my 6th guest, had border security checked. I wrote about 12 times asking and in the end, I had to contact booking.com to force them to add a 6th person.

Verified reviewNothing but the location okay.
Overpriced and was not a clean room. No ventilation as windows opened to a dirty courtyard next to the kitchen. The room smelled of old greasy oil from the kitchen bar. Could hear every time someone flushing a toilet from the ceiling pipes in the room.
