How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Verified reviewHad a layover so I only booked this hotel for it’s proximity to the airport and because they offered a free shuttle, which is extremely rare. I messaged the property to confirm my shuttle and they sent a message that I had to call a number to confirm. I couldn’t call because of my date limitations being a foreign traveler. I ended paying and uber. The staff response at check was simply that I had to call. I work in the hospital industry, this was simply unacceptable. My room wasn’t ready upon my arrival. Another reason why I booked this property was the check in time, it aligned perfectly to my landing time. When I got there it was past check in time, I when downstairs and the cleaning lady was overwhelmed tho say the least. She was visibly upset and sick with a flu. Not complaining about her, she was clearly doing the best she could. Finally, the third reason I booked this property was the rooftop pool, which I read had service hours and they were great for me. However when I attempted to go up for soak and watch the sunset, I was informed that the rooftop was closed. The hotel was understaffed and I understand how a hotel works, but this was not good at all.

If you are unable to call us, you can let us know via email or through this same Booking.com chat for pick-up arrangements. Check-in at our hotel is from 14:00. If you arrived in the morning, we regret that your room could not be made available before the reserved time. As for the swimming pool schedule, which is shown on our official website, it is from 11:00 to 20:00. For this reason, it could not be opened outside the official hours so that you could watch the sunset at 21:15, as these conditions had to be accepted when making your booking. Once again, we appreciate your feedback, which helps us identify key areas where we can improve. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you again and offer you a more satisfying stay. Verified reviewRoom was small but efficient. Very clean and tidy. The windows blocked all the road noise. The rooftop pool was very nice - just a shame that the thunder came to rain on my parade! The morning breakfast and shuttle to the airport were very convenient.
The view left a little to be desired, but for a great price. Some of the staff did not speak English, be sure to know your room number when you go for breakfast.

Verified reviewThe room was modern and very clean. The staff is very helpful and friendly. The property is close to the airport and offers airport transfers. The property is also within walking distance of bus stops and a metro station, so getting around Madrid is pretty easy. The breakfast was very sufficient. There is a rooftop deck and pool. I was only staying in Madrid for a couple of nights, and this property met all my needs for a brief stay.

Verified reviewFirst, I want to preface my review by putting this hotel in the context of being close to an airport, which was important to me, so for travelers wanting more convenience to the city’s cultural offerings, this may not be your place. It was clean, affordable, and the staff were super helpful. While my single room was below grade and only had a small window, the window was operable so I could get fresh air. As hot as it was outside, the lower level felt great. It’s a 5 minute walk to the Metro, and to get to the historic center of town was relatively easy on Line 5. There are places within about a 15 minute walk through a quiet part of town to eat or shop. Rooftop pool was pretty cool, too.
If you plan on staying in your room all day, it wouldn’t be great. My room was tiny, but I only slept in it, so that wasn’t a concern. But, in the basement level, there is a sort of swanky den-like common area complete with a tv for anyone wanting to relax in a bigger space.

Verified reviewThe neighborhood around was nice for walking. The breakfast was nice and the airport pick up was great.
The room was very tiny and someone had left a half smoked cigarette in the room, even though there are no smoking signs everywhere. The salon/ lounge room was dark. The walls are very thin, I could hear the person next door breathing.
