How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The hotel ignored my request for a double mattress and kept me waiting at check-in while they tried to improvise a “solution” just to please me. The fact remains that a 4-star hotel failed to meet the needs of a customer paying €132 per night.” While the room is aesthetically pleasing, it is filled with low-quality drawers, fixtures, and light switches that make it look tacky and impractical. For example, there’s a see-through mini fridge, yet no space to place your luggage!
Dear Edmundo, First of all we would like to apologise for not answering to your double bed last request before arrival. Due to the chaos caused by the fires in Ourense and nearby places, with cancelled trains, closed roads & highways, reservations cancelled, arriving guests with no reservation and last minute reservatinos of people who could not go back to their places, our front office team has been (and still is) overloaded. Regarding the bed request, unfortunatelly do not have the possibility of adding a topper to the twin bed. We offer another 6 types of rooms, all of them with a double king size bed, and the Superior type you chose is the only one with twin beds. Beside of this, our mattresses have a medium-soft hardness which makes them extremely comfortable and adding extra"layers" would decrease its comfort, so this is another reason why do not offer toppers as other hotels do. And you are totally righ... the room looks modern and cozy, but it is far from practical and we have to do magic to manage the owner&designer's vision over some rational concepts. Very limited space for our clothes and suitcases and only 1 hook available for the towels. No milk was provided for on our tea and coffee trays and coffee satchet was not replenished after the first day. We were offered 2 different prices for breakfast if we were to book in advance. I thought this unfair as we would be consuming the same dish whether we reserved.

Verified reviewThis hotel offers excellent value for money, especially given its prime central location in Ourense, making it ideal for exploring the city. The rooms are spacious, and cleanliness is a standout—everything was impeccably maintained. The breakfast was a highlight, with a wide and tasty selection of items to start the day right!
The service staff could significantly improve. Their unfriendly demeanor detracted from an otherwise pleasant stay—a bit more warmth or professionalism would elevate the experience.

Sorry to read we did not reach your expectations and our staff was not as friendly as we would like to (despite our efforts to provide a superb and attentive service). We do not have a restaurant at this hotel, except the buffet breakfast, and never anounced it as there are excellent options nearby and we do not have the adequate facilities to equal the high local level. Our apologies if somehow we created a wrong expectation. Our lobby-bar is open all day long, despite part of the time our bartender/waiter attends on demand as, unfortunatelly for us, most of our guests prefer the coffee-shop at the terrace which belongs to a different operator. Verified reviewSize and location of the room which I selected specifically. Great view from the eight floor looking down at a park and main pedestrian mall. Convenient location for the shopping street and walking distance to old centre.
The hotel is on a corner in the city, a bit difficult or find and park while checking in. The phone in the room didn’t work, we had to go down 8 floors to reception to.make contact. There was no mik in the room and only 1 English Breakfast type tea bag for2. This was a superior room. There was no hair dryer, though when I reported it to the front desk it was quickly replaced along with the tea. They say “ our people don’t drink that tea, they drink coffee and herbal type tea.” This hotel has an international clientele, not good enough! The unusual bathroom design with a glass vanity backing providing see through to and from the bedroom. The parking under the hotel was narrow and difficult to manoeuvre the car around a series of yellow concrete columns.

After the black out happened on the 28th april, we experience several failures in different areas of our operation. One of them was the telephone line on the 8th and 6th floors due to a damaged spedific switch which had to be replaced. Once again we apologized for not being able to solve it before your arrival. Verified reviewDespite its comfort and staff problems, the location was very good. There is a (payed) parking nearby and a café that serves breakfast right in front of the hotel. It is also very close to the city center. The interior of the hotel seems to have been improved in the last few years.
The room was too hot! Air conditioning was operating, but could not bring the room to a decent temperature. Had a lot of difficulty sleeping due to that. Also, staff insisted on cleaning the room despite the "do not disturb" board at the door, arguing with us that they had to clean it while we left the room.

For sure with a brief comunication to our front office team we would have solved this issue. Our apologies too in regards our room attendant who, as she explained us, thought you were already leaving the hotel when tried to clean the room as there was a single night stay in her cleaning report and didn't realize you were going for breakfast. Whatever was her misunderstanding, we have warned all our team about our excelence in guest service and proactive attitude, so it should never happened this type of situation.
