How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewAmazing location and great atmosphere. The SPA is very well equipped and has great staff. Massage was unforgettable.
Even in summer, supposedly not high season, feels a little bit too expensive, albeit impressive service.

Not much, we checked in too late to reserve a table at the restaurant though

Verified reviewHotel is beautiful, charismatic, very well maintained and clean. Bar and dining area were exceptional. Difficult to think how this could be any better for the money. Bedroom was above expectation and a/c worked well. One of the most enjoyable hotel stays I've ever had.
I can't think of anything.

Verified reviewLuxurious hotel, courteous and professional staff, lovely outdoor swimming pool. Our double room was very comfortable with a large en suite which included a bath. The buffet breakfast had a good selection of high quality food.
The photographs which I thought were of the indoor swimming pool were of the spa which cost €25 per person per hour.

Verified reviewThe bed was very comfortable. Excellent location. The pool was nice.
Restaurant was a disappointment. We had been served our appetisers, and within 5 minutes, I saw a waiter approaching what looked like exactly our mains order. As soon as he realizes that we are still all eating, he stops and moves to another waiter, obviously puzzled. Short conversation with worried looks towards our table and, sure enough, the waiter takes the food he had back to the kitchen. A couple of minutes later, another waiter asks if we were finished with the starters, when one of us has food in her mouth and is clearly still eating. She is a slower eater, and so it is another 5 minutes before she finishes. Within 1 minute, the starters are cleared and the mains are on our table. These were beef dishes and all were tepid if not cold. We probably should have complained about the fact that having made a massive mistake with their timing should not be remedied with just giving the customer cold dishes, but I was honestly too tired after a long day for an argument. Still in the restaurant of a 5 star hotel (indeed any good hotel) I would have expected better. The impression is that the staff is a bit overwhelmed. For the price, I would definitively go somewhere else for dinner.
Dear Claudia, Thanks for your review. We are pleased that you enjoyed your stay with us above all due to our comfortable beds and our outdoor pool as well as our excellent location. We are very sorry though that your experience in our restaurant was not as good as we would have wanted and we apologize for not having been up to your expectations although we assure you we work very hard to always provide our clients with our best service and quality. We hope we can count with your visit once more so we can prove we are capable of making of your stay a great experience. Kind regards, Guest Experience Team

Verified reviewGreat location. Big parking lot right in front of the hotel. The pool was amazing – I didn’t think I would use it, but we ended up relaxing there almost every day after long walks. There’s also a restaurant for dinner. Right from the hotel, there’s a beautiful hiking trail that takes a couple of hours and goes through very different landscapes (including a church on a hill). I’m really glad I chose this hotel instead of staying in Aínsa, as I originally planned. Staying in Aínsa doesn’t make much sense – it’s easier to just drive there from Boltaña in 5 minutes.
I didn’t like the breakfast. Maybe for the area it’s considered varied, but there were almost no hot dishes (they could at least offer some kind of porridge). The coffee from the machines was terrible – it tasted different every time. The staff at breakfast were not friendly, even a bit rude. Also, the plates were really small and uncomfortable to use.

You book the look of the main building and you get a room in an annex that has a holiday inn vibe

Verified reviewNice monastery 3 minutes outside Ainsa. We really enjoyed our stay, the apartment is renovated, clean, large rooms, large shower rooms, overall high standards. Quite, parking, nature - there's a nice stream outside, and you can walk uphill and swim in the stream not far away. There's a small fridge and a coffee machine. Thank you.
No kitchen.

Verified reviewAs I mentioned earlier in the survey, both my wife & I thought all the facilities were excellent. We didn’t venture into the Spa, as this was a working trip, on our way to Mallorca. We will probably be back, maybe next year. Hadn’t seen the “before”, but we thought that the conversion “after” has been tastefully carried out to retain many historical features, particularly the internal stonework - including the chapel. We intentionally chose a room in the original building, right next to the chapel. Wonderful. Although we didn’t venture into any of the “villas” - they were also well finished off - especially good for small families. Pool area, provided adequate personal privacy, with great service from staff. Nothing was too much trouble. Excellent breakfast , with choices in most categories. Main dining area was well designed with the wood beams/ trusses adding some matching character. However, see our comments on the food. Yes, many pleasing features, including the location.
Breakfast apart, the food was somewhat disappointing . . . . and although completely understand how the business has to both “appeal” and at the same time pay the wages / be profitable - so some cost saving has to result somewhere, therefore have to reluctantly say . . . . the bar food was awful. Food in the main restaurant was better e.g. for the evening meal - however, the breakfast did the trick in both choice and quality. Sorry!

Coffee machines (and coffee) were worse on our trip in Spain (of 5 hotels), would expect better on this level.
