How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewWe had a wonderful stay. The room was clean, comfortable, and very quiet. The highlight was definitely the incredible view of the pyramid, and the call to prayer from the nearby mosque was truly heart-touching. The host is very kind and welcoming. We would definitely come back.

Verified reviewIt's not a hotel or hostel. It's a 3-members family house from which you'll share one bathroom and spaces. However, we stayed for 2 nights and barely saw them. They were nice and helpful, their English was perfect and you could notice their efforts to improve their house to receive guests (e.g., renowed bathroom, AC, wifi, hot water). Pros: - Excellent location. It's less than 10-minutes walk from the entrance of the pyramids and less than 5-minutes walk to restaurants. - It has a nice view of the pyramids from the room. - Great value for money. The rooms is spacious and clean. - Good wifi. - Local breakfast. - You have the chance to share with local people. - We were given a papyrus as a gift.
- Difficult to find the location. Ask the host to send you the location by Whatsapp. - No toilet paper nor ammenities. We weren't given toilet paper during our stay, even though we asked the host several times. We ended up buying our own. - Wet towels. Even though the towels were clean, they weren't dry when we arrived to the room. - The mattresses could be better.

Verified reviewThis is very good value for the money. The place is very clean. The people are friendly. It's a good match for a tight budget.
It's not a hotel/hostel; it's somebody's home. There's no balcony. No room with a view

Verified reviewIf you are looking for good family with great heart, then come to this place. So much positive energy and a lot of friends. They will treat you like a family. They shared their food with me and treated me like a brother, showed me the best places around. When I left, I cried, because in this world, you wont find easily, so humble and good people. The view is great, the bathroom is nice, bedroom lovely. If you need anything, they are gonna help you. Near pyramids too, if you are going there. I wish everyone, who I met, fortune and good health. 💗💗💗💗💗

The location is a bit difficult to find, but you can locate the Alaska hotel, it's easier to find.

Verified reviewThe host and his family were very nice and hospitable. They guided me to the room during the night and served tasty Egyptian breakfast. My main goal was to visit the Pyramids of Giza and the entrance point was only 3 mins of stroll. There is also a nice view from the room and renovated bathroom. Amazing value for its money! Some tips for travelers - keep in mind that this is very suburban area and if you’d like to visit Pyramids in the early morning, there are a lot of dogs here. I live in country without street dogs and it was a little bit confusing. They are not aggressive, but if you are going to the earliest opening hour at 7.30, there will be mostly you and dogs at the street.
Everything is fine

Verified reviewThe flat was nice and clean
It was very hard to find. It’s a tree bedroom flat but just two available. The street to get there very dirty. The flat is on the top floor in the building and the staircase very dirty no lights look like the war zone, but the flat inside nice and clean.

Verified reviewBreakfasts were great. Food was plentiful and tasty and you could choose at what time. Amir and Basmala were superb superhosts and their relatives were lovely. Lots of attention to detail and helpful in every way. The view of the pyramids from our room was unbelievable.
The roof terrace should be finished to be able to enjoy the view.
