Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

ItalyMain Restaurant: Disappointing experience. Too much selling activity on the beach during the first few days The division between international and the Italian Vera Club
Staff: Very efficient, attentive, and kind. Reception staff were especially nice. Chefs: Teme and Mustafa were super nice and welcoming. Room: Spacious and clean. Towel animals were a lovely touch for the kids. Structure & Garden: Beautiful and well maintained. Gardeners do a great job. Entertainment: Pretty good overall. Kids Club: OK – Kaia and Lily were fun, but timings were inconsistent (10:15–11:45 instead of 10:00–12:00). Only indoors activities Dining: Al Amira Restaurant: Good quality, enjoyed the upgrade we received.

United KingdomThe aircon was a bit too loud. Every morning I had a couple of new bites on my legs - I'm assuming the bed had a few bed bugs hiding in it. They really need to work on the instructions explaining their restaurant system. It was clear as mud.
The room was big with very high ceiling. Nice balcony with a lovely view of the swimming pool, palm trees and the sea in the distance. The reef is incredible and so was the snorkelling and scuba diving.

CanadaThe road to and from the resort should get easier to access for foreigners.
The snorkeling is some of the best I've been to in Egypt. The staff are friendly and supportive. The resort has quite a few options for how you would like to spend your time.

Egypt-I booked a sea view room but my room didn't have any remote view of the sea. -the facilities of the hotel seems to be divided between two operators which was a little weird not to be able to use all the recreational & eating facilities within premises. -no free WI-FI anywhere in the hotel even in the reception area.
-the staff was very helpful ,Especially mr Mahmoud Raoof & mr Mohamed Kamel from the reception. -the beach was beautiful & i had an exquisite experience snorkeling. -the food was ok. -the landscape & architecture of the buildings were very nice.

GermanyWe didn't really like our room since it was pretty basic, with old furniture and old TV set, no chairs or table, except in the balcony. We were also unpleasantly surprised that there was no free Wifi at all (not even in the common spaces, not even for 10 minutes until we could activate our internet SIM cards).
We really enjoyed our stay at Utopia Beach Club. The beach is wonderful and there is also a house reef that's perfect for snorkelling and diving. We stayed in 2 other hotels in Egypt and I can say that the beach experience at Utopia was the best one. The staff was really nice with us and the food was also good and varied.

NetherlandsWas our first experience with Egypt, and we did not really like the fact that everybody seemed to want to sell us something. In my experience all inclusive is nice because you escape this inevitable faith of being a tourist, but that was not the case here. However, when we experienced more of Egypt, it seems like something that is an unwanted inclusion in your holidays in Egypt.
Nice clean resort. Lots of things to do. Italian food was nice, Italian chef very funny. Very delicious pastries. They gave us us wi-fi and early checkin for free, really generous. Snorkeling there was amazing!

First of all the best housereef for snorkeling ever and we have been to a lot of places at the Red Sea with housereefs. Also excellent for free diving. The staff at the Diving Center were very kind and helpful. A very beautiful hotel with lots of flowers all over - it seems the hotel grow its own plants :-) Location overlooking the sea is also very beautiful. The entertainment at night was way over standard, the animation team was very, very good and professionel in dancing, singing (especially one girl was an excellent singer (think she came from Czech Republic) and also the fire show was super (the girl from Ukraine was excellent). Several good and cosy places to stay after dinner, especially the bar next to the entertainment. Lots of various kinds of shops. Massage was good. Very good and tasty food with ok variation. Only bit peculiar thing is that the hotel is kind of devided into 2 hotels - an Italian club called Vera Club had there own rooms, restaurant, animation team and part of the beach but you get used to it although the Italian restaurant looked much more cosy than the main restaurant ;-) We will be back for sure.

IrelandThe architecture of the village is very beautiful, unfortunately most of the spaces (main pool, slides and few terrace bars) were closed, probably due to the low season, we went at the beginning of February, which, let me warn you, is also particularly cold, in this time of the year the sun is mostly out and warm but there is an annoying cold wind that won't let the experience really be enjoyable expecially to those that are particularly sensitive to the low temperatures, it's a bit hard to get in the water as well. When we arrived they were renovating the main restaurant and told us to use only the "Italian" restaurant, which we thought it was just one of the options available but when the renovation was over and they opened back the main restaurant we were forbidden to walk in the "italian" restaurant, from what I saw it was serving the same food but it was much closer to the beach and all the other opened amenities, as we spent about 10 days of our 2 weeks holidays in that restaurant I thought it was over the line to be asked to leave, it was very quiet the all time of our staying and I can't really understand what was the need to make us feel unwelcome all of a sudden. The resort is connected to an Italian tour operator, which sort of owns the best corners of the resort, from the apartments, to the auditorium, to the beach activities and best tanning spots which are organised all around the beautiful bay, the internationals are sent to another area of the beach were the sea doesn't look as good. At this time of the year There is no much entertainment around the resort except for the italian tour operator staff, but they would entertain exclusively the veraclub guests, i mean you can join them, if you know the language, but they don't make much effort to have you interacting or be part of it if you are not one of them. Not a big deal anyways, the '80s style of entertainment offered was mostly annoying anyways .
The beach and sea spot is the best, the reef keeps the water calm and clear at all time, the underwater life is unique, it's literally like swimming in a fish tank, perfect for snorkeling and diving. The service in the resort is very good, the staff is polite and efficient, we loved the company of Ahmed Kamel during our meals, he made sure nothing was missing on our table and did it always with a warm smile, but of course he wasn't the only one, from the room cleaner to the guy in charge to call the taxi to the airport, everyone was just lovely. On the beach there is a bit of pressure from the sales guy but it's never over the line, actually we were always enjoying a good chat with Said who eventually was calling by just for a daily greeting. I personally loved the spa experience, we had a Romeo and Juliette couple treatment which was an unusual experience with coconut scrub, foam cleansing, sauna and steaming room, followed by a 45 mins of excellent massage, really recommended. We loved the diving course, professional and complete, and the guided trip to the close al quseir, anything else is too far and requires 4/5 hours of bus journey each way, not for us!
