How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThe studio is very clean and a stone throw away from the Pyramids of Giza. The neighbourhood allows you to experience an authentic egyptian lifestyle with all the rush and colours of Giza. The Host Mr Saeed is more than just a Host, he is a golden heart person and a friend whose hospitality will make you feel at home and whose advice will make your trips easier. He will do anything to make your stay memorable. The breakfast is a consistent Egyptian breakfast that will keep you full for hours, you may not require any lunch. Want to experience a full Egyptian experience at Giza, book your stay at Mr Saeed.

Verified reviewA small but comfortable studio, perfect for couples or a small family. The apartment was clean on arrival, and the best part of our stay was our host, Saeed—he was incredibly helpful, friendly, and responsive.
The Wi-Fi was below average, okay for basic voice calls, but video calls were not possible.

Verified reviewI stayed at the Farida Pyramids Boutique Hotel in September 2024, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking to stay near the Pyramids and the Sphinx. It's located in a traditional area of Egypt, offering a unique and authentic experience. The room is equipped with air conditioning, a private bathroom, and a small kitchen. However, what stood out to me the most was the care and hospitality shown by Said (the owner of the hotel) and his family. I recently moved to Egypt for my master’s program, and I’m incredibly grateful to have met such kind-hearted people during my first days here. The nervousness of moving to a new country was eased thanks to the warmth of Said, his wife, their young daughter Farida, and the rest of the family. Thank you for your kindness, the delicious breakfasts and dinners, and above all, for your genuine care.

Verified reviewI liked that it was in the gated place, spacious room, the kitchen, and the AC. The family would offer homemade food, willing to exchange currency, and always checking in to see if I needed anything. It is close to shops, market, and restaurants. They allowed me to have a late check out due the time of my flight. They were very friendly, helpful and kind. They really made you feel like you were family. I would highly recommend this place to anyone staying in Giza.

Verified review1st thing I choosed to stay at Farida in Giza was it's exceptionally good reviews And here's mine It's not just a homestay, you become family and if you are a solo Traveller or a couple who like to see experience Cairo household traditional clean food you should go there Food was so good because it's made with love, the moment I stepped in I said to them that I had molokeyya soup in siwa. The mother in the household went out n brought molokeyya within minutes just for me . I never expected such love from a stranger family because at the end of the day we pay money and it's a service Then the father. Who was very close to me he never let me go out alone if I'm going shopping or buy sourniers. I was saying I didn't pay for this and I feel like I'm wasting time of yours. His reply was at Farida we don't just sent a studio unit we give them a good experience much better than lot of commercial famous hotels and apartment rentals Mahmood the son took me out another day to exchange money , meet his friends and drink tea at a local cafe. I loved one thing he said that money will come and go but experience, brand , reputations are hard to get . Overall I really enjoyed the 3 nights i stayed there specially the household cooking which I requested for custom price and the father of the family is a really nice guy I felt home far away from home and I really love them I can recommend any one this place without any 2nd thoughts because of the people there and my own experience Plus it's walking distance to sphinx and pyramids. Of course it is very cheap but a really good deal for the price

Verified reviewPerfect location for a visit to the pyramids, including a view from the roof. More importantly, Said, Hannan and their family are the most welcoming hosts who genuinely make you feel at home. I had so much fun playing with Farida and going out for food with Mahmoud and I hope to see them all again soon. If you are keen on spending time and money on an experience with a local family rather than a hotel, I highly recommend staying here. Plus, the room is spacious and has everything you need.
There is no signage from the street, so I would recommend calling to be met.

Verified reviewEverything was amazing! From the moment I arrived, I was treated like family - Saeed, Hanoon and their lovely daughter Farida, made my stay so special. They did so many thing to help me - changing money, arranging a taxi, going with me to the shop, showing me where to go for the pyramids. And when I got sick with food poisoning from a restaurant, they looked after me so well, they really treated me like family! As soon as I arrived, they offered me a full dinner because I was tired after a long bus journey. The apartment was very spacious, and very very clean. The bathroom was excellent, with lots of strong hot water. The bed was very comfortable, I slept very well the whole time I was there. You are able to knock on the family’s door for anything you may need and they are always happy to help, and so so kind. The location is amazing - only 5 minutes walk from the entrance to the pyramids (but I advise you to buy your ticket online the night before, the queue to buy tickets at the office is crazy and the men will push and shove you out of the way - I still have bruises) and right near lots of shops for any small things you need. I really liked this was in the “real” Cairo where local people are coming and going, lots of horses, camels, donkeys, tuk-tuks everywhere. You see how most people live here and it is very interesting to see - but it is not fancy. Stay here if you like to chat with local people and have the warmest welcome from wonderful wonderful people. I really can’t say enough good things about this place, you should definitely stay here!

Verified reviewThis place is only a short walk from the pyramids and very close to shops and restaurants. The hosts were very welcoming and very nice people who looked after us and made us feel at home. After we booked the accommodation, it was very to communicate with the hosts. Their place is very clean and the food they cooked for us was exceptional. If you want to go anywhere, the hosts can arrange a private taxi to wherever you want to go at a cheap price. If you don't fancy eating out, then the hosts offer great meals at a very good price and much cheaper than the local restaurants. We recommend that you try her best dish called Koshary, it tastes amazing. We would highly recommend staying at this place. Thank you very much, we enjoyed our stay.

Verified reviewDo you want to stay in a traditional Egyptian house close to the Pyramids? The owners are an Egyptian family with 4 children and all their relatives were living in the same area for generations. This family home with backyard is just 3 minutes in walking distance to the main entrance at the Gizeh Pyramides and Sphinx. They will organize everything for you: Mr. Said will pick you up at the airport with a private clean taxi (the costs are 20€ for one way) (if you book 4 days or more the taxi is free of charge) They will organize your SIM Cards after your arrival and provide bottled water and Egyptian tea for you Mrs Hannah will prepare Breakfast (included) to your preferences They provide for you authentic Egyptian food at lunch and diner for small money (vegetarian are available for 5-6€ ) - you could enjoy your meals at the time you wish on the veranda Mr Said shows you the real Kairo with the Bazars, Sisha Bars and shopping in the town away from the tourists. The Studio is 45m2 including a kingside bed with very good new mattresses, a seating area, TV and a new Air Condition, a private bathroom with shower and a kitchen. We stood 3 days there at the End of Oct 23 and we recommend to everyone who wants to see the real Egypt. The owner are very friendly, helpful, discreet and caring. The area is quiet and safe - the flat very clean. We can recommend it 100%.

Verified reviewIf you are a fancy person, go to a 5-star hotel ! If you want an authentic experience, 5 minutes from the Pyramids on the outskirts of Gyza, in the middle of the real Egyptian life, it will be an authentic and unique experience in life. The family is warm and friendly, and this trip on our own would have been very difficult if it weren't for them helping us with absolutely everything. They became our friends and became extremely dear to us. Sayd will be of Great-great help to you in this country and his wife is an amazing cook and an amazing woman. Her traditional Egyptian food left us speechless. Amazing food! The whole family was amazing and a huge help to us in EVERYTHING. Very clean room, many shops very close, 5 minutes from the Pyramids you have Pizza Hut where you can eat from the terrace looking at the Pyramids, Ubers come to the door of the house in 2-3 minutes when you want to go to Cairo... For us it was everything perfect and 90% was due to this family.

Verified reviewGo there if you want to live a true Cairo experience with kind and hospitable people that will make you feel comfortable and safe. As well as part of a family! The freshly renovated studio was the place I felt most like home while in Egypt. A true quiet haven after the daily chaos of Cairo. It is run by the most lovely family who are very hospitable and will tend to your every need. As they are locals, they can find good deals for pretty much everything (don't hesitate to ask them). Mr. Said even checked up on me every afternoon, just to see if I am doing well:) Extra positive things: * Probably the best air-con unit I had in Egypt * 5 min walk from the Pyramids entrance * Super clean * Breakfast at the time you select, presented at your door! * I had 4 nights booked, that came with a free pickup from the airport

Verified reviewMe and my wife we had such a great time staying at Studio Farida. We arrived very early in the morning and they kindly stayed awake and waited for us. In the morning they gave us a delicious breakfast and gave us some tips to go around the city and visit the pyramids. At the night they offered us fresh cold lemonade and they gave us dinner which we enjoyed with a wonderful view of the pyramids. All in all, everything was very nice in the studio, the room, the hosts and their kindness, also it is very close to the entrance to the pyramids, only 3 minute walk. We really enjoyed our visit and we will definitely stay there again, we felt like at home with family. I really recommend anyone to stay here if you want to have a great time with local people and you want to try new things, delicious food, and of course for the location which is perfect to visit the pyramids.

Verified reviewI had a very large room with AIR CONDITIONING, the location was perfect because I was able to see the Pyramids from the roof and I really connected with the owners. The food was fresh, the tea was great and meeting the Egyptian family was a real treat. Said and family prepared meals for me and enjoyed their company, getting to know about daily life in Egypt. This experience is better than any 5 star hotel in my professional experience. The WiFi was excellent and I felt that they cared for me. Said even brought me fruit like they do in a five star hotel. The hospitality was extra-special and from the heart. You will love staying here with this special family who really care about you and showing you the Real Egypt. Such open-minded and caring people. Thank you.
It was the best experience I had in all of Egypt, even better than my cruise on the Nile. Such original people, amazing :)

Verified reviewProximity to Giza pyramids. Host family was exceptional. Hearty breakfast was provided everyday.
The nearby area of the property was not very clean. It was majorly surrounded by horse stables so there was horse poop all around and it smelled bad too. It can be challenging to find Uber from airport to this place so better book a taxi with the host.
