How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The facilities are broken, such as water faucets. The floor and closet were dusty, until I had to mop them myself. The bed sheet is dirty.

Verified reviewBreakfast is far beyond expectations. Chef Muhammed and the waitresses do a great job. Panorama from roof restaurant is stunning: the Sun set behind the Pyramid, which illuminated the whole of its background!
Neigbouring roofs have litter/debris on them which would require a bit of an attention in order not to deteriorate the view. Roof terrace furniture has marks on them, a soap wash would turn them look new.

The cleanliness and maintenance is very bad. TV wasn’t working. Bathroom was very dirty. Previous rubbish was left from the customer and the shower was very smelly. Despite my complaint to the reception nothing has been done. I didn’t even get a chance to watch the television because there was no channel working in it.

Verified reviewThe location waa nice because it’s close to the Pyramids, you get a nice view of the pyramids from the rooftop. The staff were lovely, however the surrounding area was loud, kids were screaming really late at night, road was loud. But you get what you lay for, this accommodation was really affordable.

The staffs are unprofessional. They are not ready to listen to our concerns. The WiFi was extremely poor. So we used our mobile data during the stay. Room services were not provided until we ask for. Their tour packages are also very costly.

Verified reviewBrand new spanking clean, food was delicious and we were able to have something to eat despite it being so late (close to midnight when we arrived!). Can see the pyramids from the roof top.
The stairs are a risk hazard, no side rails- avoid it and take the lift. The bathroom can be cold in the winter, brrr

Verified reviewOur room was ok but my friend's was very dirty. She had to change room 3 times. Staff at the reception are cheeky. To get my change I had to ask several times. They took us to a restaurant opposite the hotel where the bill was too high for the food we got. I guess they get commission. In 10 day in Egypt was the poorest food but the most expensive

Verified reviewClose to the Pyramids of Gizeh. 5 minutes by taxi. From here u can also easily do a day trip to the Pyramids of sakkara and dashur. To old Kairo it's about 30 minutes by taxi. Wonderful view of the Pyramids from the roof top, where u get a really nice breakfast. Friendly stuff and everything clean.

Verified reviewView from the roof is very nice and the breakfast excellent, chef Mohammed Ashraf took really good care of us. 15 minutes walk to the entrance to the Great Giza pyramids
Rooms in the back of the building have no decent windows. Also, no work desks. Reception guy first tried to put three of us into a single room despite that I booked three separate rooms, but we got that sorted out. Noise insulation is practically nonexistent, you hear everything from the corridor and outside.

The smell was awful from the street, so much noice and a little bit dangerous neighbourhood. The water had a chlorine smell and we were afraid to brush our teeth.

Verified reviewVery good stay I did not expect this breakfast, nor did I expect the spaciousness of the room and the view of the pyramids The Crown Hotel is wonderful, I recommend it to everyone If you want to stay for a long time, they give you price rates, as well as tourist flights, and staff who are fluent in English. Even someone there is also often a champion of Spanish, and this is very important for all visitors. The property has an excellent location and a beautiful view of the pyramids. The staff was Chef Samir Mr. Ahmed Chef Mohamed Reception staff Rahma Amir very friendly and helpful, especially MR Sasa who made our stay unforgettable. Mr. Sassa started with very good prices.We did a tour of the pyramids and then the Egyptian Museum with Mr. Sasa The trip was private without a group and I was happy. I hope we decide this again to go to Egypt.

When we arrived late in the evening, we were immediately asked to do the payment right away. When the payment was done the young gentleman told us that we would get an "upgrade" for which we had to drive to another hotel for a few minutes. We didn't really want that, but we had no choice. In a junk, dirty car they finally drove us to a bad hotel. It was only closer to the pyramids, that’s the only „upgrade”. Only after repeated inquiries, we were informed that there was some kind of problem in the originally booked hotel. However, we did not receive further information. We were angry because we found out all this AFTER we paid for everything! That's just dubious. Since the so-called “upgrade” was so bad, we decided to leave this hotel after one night. Only when we put a little pressure on the management and complained that, at least half of the hotel price was refunded. Which in my opinion is not enough, since we booked four nights.

Verified reviewThe location was ideal for visiting the Pyramids and the breakfast was delicious. Quite affordable stay for the quality of service provided. Close to local market ans shops.
Bathroom facilities could be better and host was a bit pushy on arranging a tour for us, but with unreasonable pricing. Overall experience was positive for an 1 night stay.
