Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesGreat location for a restful holiday, close to all the attractions without the noise from the city. + Beautiful and very comfortable room. The Guest House is new, well equipped and wonderful view. The terrace is large, perfect for enjoying the sun at breakfast. The room was very comfortable. Bathroom is spacious and well organized. There is AC excellent to use and the room was nice and cold at night. There is coffee, tea and tisane available at any time in the rooftop. Breakfast is Nubian style, with eggs, bread, vegetables, a bean sauce (foul) creamy local cheese, tasty falafel and coffee or tea. Everything was fresh and delicious. We especially enjoyed the quietness of the place, restful nights without noise. The hosts are warm and kind. This is a family business, so you will meet Mohamed, the host, as well as his wife and kids. They try their best to provide you with a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Mohamed picked us up from the ferry im his private boat and took to Elephatine, where they helped us with the bags. It is a very short walk to the guest house. They can also provide boats to visit the attractions around the Aswan. This is a perfect place for solo travellers or families - Everything was great!

KuwaitKarim the owner was waiting for us at midnight for the boat ride to the guest house (part of the service) and offered us a free room upgrade. He arranged tours and car, transfer from airport at good rates. Nice rooms and a sunny terrace for breakfast. The property is located in a quiet and safe area (as the rest of the Island is). Free access to kitchen and washing machine. Overall, the guesthouse is great value for money. Karim his friend Mohamed the rest of the family are lovely people, friendly and helpful. New larger rooms will be ready shortly. - The area totally safe all day and night making it easier to find the guesthouse at least the first time. And this adds to the adventure - - - - The place is very clean, and everything in it is brand new. The design of the place is modern, and the treatment from the owners is very kind and welcoming—they greeted us with smiles and treated us so nicely. The food is also absolutely delicious. Honestly, I wished I could have tried their signature dish, which is molokhia with eggs, but I missed out this time—maybe next time! As for the location, it's great and even offers a boat to Aswan if needed. They also have a very beautiful rooftop, especially in the morning when the ambiance is amazing. The only issue is that the view of the Nile is partially blocked, but overall, the experience is wonderful and the place is well worth visiting, especially because of the friendly people."

RussiaWarm, peaceful, and unforgettable stay in the heart of Aswan Island — very clean, very comfy, with stunning rooftop views, kind-hearted hosts, and cozy comfort! __________________________________________________________ I spent a nice time at Rayan Guest house on Aswan Island during my study trip, and honestly, it was one of the best parts of my journey! The location is perfect 10 minutes walk from the ferry ⛴️, making it super easy to get around. My room was so clean, cozy, and comfy 🛏️✨, with great facilities that made me feel right at home. But what made the experience truly special were the amazing hosts —Karim and his lovely wife Alaa . They were so kind, generous, and welcoming — they made me feel like part of their family 🫶. The rooftop restaurant was my favorite spot! Every morning, I enjoyed a delicious breakfast 🍳☕ with the most incredible view of the Nile, the sailboats, nature, and Mountains 🏞️🚤 — a view I’ll never get over! If you're heading to Aswan, I can't recommend Rayan Nubian Guest house enough! It's a peaceful, warm, and beautiful place to stay. 🌟

EgyptTotally nice
hospitality and food, accompanied by breathtaking views. Rayan Nubian Guest house is located in the quiet place of Elephantine island. With adequate greeneries around the guest house and amazingLandscapes Nile river views, the overlooking blue water of the Nile river and the distant deserted hills on the river banks make this place a picture place to relax, in the midst of nature. Our host Karim , who is also the owner of this property is such a humble, friendly and helpful man. The moment we stepped into the guest house we felt like a home, with the warm hospitality from him and other staffs like Mohamed. He offered us a freshly made juice as the welcome drink, it was indeed very refreshing on a sunny day. He sent us a boat to the west bank from where Mohamed picked our luggage and we sailed to the island, all free of cost. Same during our check out as well. KARIM always made sure that right care is taken to his guests, he personally follows up for meal and any other local or outward tour arrangements, despite there were other guests present. We talked for quite a long on various subjects from the changing the landscape of this world, to our respective daily lifestyle in different parts of this planet. We never felt like we are in a hotel, its always been like yet another home. Karim allowed guests to use the kitchen to make tea or any other dietary requirements. There was a common washing machine as well that we used to rejuvenate our laundries. Overall, this was a very calm and warm homely environment to spend when someone is in Aswan. The roof top dining area is infact the most happening place of the property. Roof cover with Henna tree shed gives you a perfect natural environment to experience the soothing breeze and mesmerizing landscape dominated by the beautiful river Nile. The meals available here are true Nubian delicacies, like the Tanjin(Tagine) dishes, which are made with homely care. Thanks to Karim for making our trip a truly memorable one.

EgyptI really satisfied totally
Charming and rustic guest house overlooking the West Bank of the Nile, with warm and welcoming staff + We had a wonderful time at RayanNubianGuestHouse. It’s a tranquil and rustic property on the south of Elephantine Island, overlooking the West Bank of the Nile. A very peaceful location, and also an easy walk to the Elephantine archaeological site & Aswan Museum on the island. The rooftop restaurant had lovely views of the Nile, making it feel like a true oasis. But what makes it special is the manager – Karim took such great care of us and organised our trips to Philae (with one of his cousins, also called Mohammed, who was brilliant), Abu Simbel, and a 2-night Nile River Cruise for when we left Aswan. Wonderful hospitality and a very welcoming place! - It’s a brand new Guest house, everything there is new and very clean area Tip: To get to the property, you have to take the north Elephantine Island/Siou side public ferry (5 mins, EGP 10 each way), and then a short walk across the island through the unpaved village, which is a bit of a maze. It was always a charming and peaceful stroll, even at night, and didn’t bother us. Karim can arrange boat transfers to Aswan as well, which are direct to and from the property (also takes about 5-10 minutes) free Oh, and make sure you turn on the water heater switch before you shower! I really recommend this place for nice experience and honest staff All the best for the new business
