Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

BelgiumWe loved staying here! The guesthouse has everything you need and is well connected to the river banks (to the cornish it's about a 5-min walk straight on and a 3-4 min boat ride). It's best if you come with smallish luggage (backpacks or a carry-on) because the roads on the island are unpaved and there are no vehicles, but if you have bigger bags, a boat can probably be arranged easily. Now, all the big perks. It's fully immersed in the quiet rural life of Elephantine Island, with an amazing view over the river banks and the Botanical Gardens (easy to reach by boat). There is a large rooftop overlooking the Nile where you can have breakfast, dinner and drinks. Marta and Osama are lovely hosts: relaxed, accommodating and helpful, they truly made us feel welcome and at home. They let us get refreshed before catching our evening flight, gave us a good packed breakfast for our early morning trip to Abu Simbel and cooked us a great dinner on their beautiful rooftop. We loved petting and observing their growing cat family and their friendly dog after a hot day exploring outside. We could not have asked for a better stay in Aswan, and we would definitely stay again.

FranceMartha & Osama provided the perfect experience for our two day stay. They are cheerful, kind and went above and beyond to help us when we faced some issues with the next leg of our trip. This little house sits on the west side of Éléphantine island which is a very rural and authentic Nubian place. We wholefully recommend the Nubian Lotus for anyone that wish to experience Aswan under the best conditions! Thank you again Martha and Osama !

United StatesI missed a shelf in the bathroom for toiletries.
Peaceful hillside location on the quiet side of Elephantine overlooking the Botanic Garden island across the river. Lovely hosts. Osama arranged transport and a wonderful fellucca ride. Marta made delicious pasta. We felt well taken care of. Our simple room was very clean and thoughtfully furnished including fridge, electric kettle, and a small kitchen sink.

CanadaBreakfast was unsatisfactory. Bread was stale, foul was cold and boiled egg was over cooked. Also, the chairs on the veranda could use some cushions. Also, items for purchase, like water were highly over priced, more than a 5 star hotel! A 2 minute walk we could purchase our needs for a fraction of the price.
Nice property on Elephantine Island. We enjoyed the view and walking about.

BulgariaI wish we had booked a longer stay.
We loved everything about it. The nice friendly and helpful people who own it - Marta and Osama. They were very helpful to show us around the village and to prepare a breakfast box for early morning. We loved their cats and Kiki the dog. Osama, teaching us a few Nubian words. The beautiful building and the amazing view. The cozy room, spotless clean, including linen. Most comfortable bed during our trip to Egypt so far. And a bidet in the bathroom 😲 (thank you Marta). Overall a charming little place in a small Nubian village.

AustraliaWe enjoyed an amazing four nights here! Marta and Osama are excellent hosts and available to assist as required. We stayed in the two bedroom apartment. Despite the heat in Aswan the apartment stays quite cool and we were always comfortable. Our children were very happy to play with the pets onsite. The property faces the west bank and overlooks the botanical garden island and sand dunes on the west bank. The view and tranquility is simply delightful. (See photo of view) You should definitely keep some spare days in your schedule to relax and recharge on the island. We also highly recommend getting the boat transfer (small additional fee for this service) as to arrive by the water is a completely different experience to walking the Elephantine island paths. We took a private trip arranged through our hosts to Abu Simbel and also a felucca sail (see photo) which we also thoroughly enjoyed. I am so glad we stayed at the Nubian Lotus- it's a totally different world to the east bank of Aswan and even the east side of Elephantine island which is busier, noisy and has a light pollution at night.

CanadaWe loved everything. We took one of their tours and found it a bit pricey for what we got but that was on us - it is easy to organize tours in Aswan.
We relished our time at this charming guest house. We stayed in the studio for 5 days (really more than Aswan warrents) and loved it. Staying on the island, wandering the streets and pathways, spending evenings and mornings soaking up the view, and jumping in the Nile at the end of the day - pure majic. The guest house is a world away from the bussle of Aswan at the same time as Aswan is easy to get to (for anyone turned off by the 5 min walk to the guest house it is easy to grab a private water taxi).

EgyptThis place is a hidden gem of Aswan. While it is technically on Elephantine Island, it is easily accessible to Aswan by a 2 minute ferry ride. It's beautiful, serene, peaceful and my stay was greatly enhanced by the hospitality of owners, Marta & Osama. This place is truly a labor of love and they facilitated a carefree experience. Traditional breakfast is included and made by Osama himself. If you are looking for a place that is really rooted in community, you will thrive here.

United KingdomNothing - just perfect.
Perfect in every way. Marta and Osama are kind and generous hosts, helping us out and extremely responsive on WhatsApp. The room is beautiful, clean, with a good shower and comfortable bed. The rooftop looks over the quieter side of Elefantine and is great for breakfast or a beer in the morning. The ferry is close, regular, cheap, and easy, and the island also has the Aswan Museum and ruins of Abu within easy walking distance. There are some nice restaurants close by too. The best place we’ve stayed in Egypt and we were very sad to leave!

We had an awesome stay at Nubian Lotus. It is a very beautiful and boutique guesthouse on elephantine island. We stayed 3 nights and had a great time. The guesthouse is directly at the Nile with a beautiful view of botanical island. It is very peaceful and rural there. After a couple of days in Cairo it was like heaven. Clean air and silence, except for animal noises which took us at the first night a little getting used to, but on the second day it was a welcome noise. Much better than noisy cars. But for those with a light sleep earplugs might be a good choice. We were also very grateful for the breakfast to go. When we had our trip to Abu Simbel, which started at 6 am, Marta prepared a very delicious breakfast to go. Just need to inform early enough. We enjoyed our stay a lot!!
