How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewGreat discovery in the lovely Aswan, felt welcomed and secure, if you want to recharge your batteries, enjoy exceptional views of the Nile and get a side of inner peace, this is the place to be. The host is exceptional and will take the time to explain anything you need help with on the area, plus share the historical facts and story of the Nubians, my only regret is I didn't book for a longer stay!!! Everything is as per the description, only advice is to pack light and avoid having a big suitcase as more difficult to manage, keep on mind the guest house is on the island and while walking is fine, you don't have adapted grounds to drag luggage. Given the chance to visit Aswan back, I'll book here directly without second thought and for an extended time.

Verified reviewOsama is the best person in Aswan! He helped us a lot with the food, where to go, organizing the trip to Abu Simbel, taking a felucca ride and took us with his boat to the Nubian village! Extremely hospitable! He is truly the Nubian king!! The room is traditional Nubian, with a wonderful view of the Nile, very quiet, clean, hot water, air conditioned, wi-if and everything we needed was there!!! Thank you for everything Osama! If we come to Aswan again we will definitely stay there again! Magical place!! You are the best!!!

Verified reviewPerfect view, very friendly host, good wifi, delicious breakfast. Host offered his guide service with boat around island and showed island on foot.
At the begging it was hard to find property, it is better to put some signs or to write host before arriving he will explain how to go.

Verified reviewGreat location at quiet end of the island with stunning balcony views, comfortable bench seat. The room was well thought through in terms of storage, reading lights, comfortable bed. Attractive curve roof design. Osama the owner was very welcoming and helpful.
Great to have a small kitchen available but could do with some organisation/cleaning. Bathroom could have been cleaned better. Waterwork treatment plant adjacent , so some noise, but you soon get used to this.

Verified reviewOussama is an exceptional host. We felt at home and he made sure we were confortable and happy. The bed was confortable and the view from the bed room and the rooftop was great. The breakfast was amazing, especially the black honey : delicious ! Oussama also cooked us a lovely lunch, with fresh fish from the Nile. He offers a range of service and fair prices for the surroundings attractions. He arranged very easily our day to Abu Simbel and Philae temple. He is very honest and it was great to meet someone like that after wasting time with other to negociate. Regarding the guest house it is located at the far end of the island, in a quiet area. The water station is located near the house but it goes off at night so you will not be bothered by the noise. We were the only customers during out stay so we enjoyed the rooftop just for ourselves. If you want to discover the island with someone who has lived there his all life you are in the right place ! Oussama showed us his lovely island by foot and by sea and we spent an amazing two days in his guest house.

Verified reviewThe absolute best thing about Nubian King is Osama himself. You will experience true Nubian hospitality from the gentlest, friendliest, funniest people. We had a fantastic stay here and met a new friend. The welcome drinks are awesome, and the view is very cool! The door was a little sticky, but I'm sure Osama will tend to that. Bathroom is a little small, but good hot water. We loved the painted walls, and the fun shutters. It was a little chillier than expected, so Osama provided more blankets. He's a great cook too! We were well fed here. We think this is a fun stay for someone who wants to enjoy the peaceful part of Aswan with a great view.
The bed is just a little hard and springy, but maybe a topper would help make this more comfy. Also, finding the place with google maps is a little tricky as Nubain King is the top floor of a local home, so when we arrived we weren't sure it was right right place. Thankfully we ran into a young man named Ali who was very helpful. I suggested to Osama to make a few Nubian King signs for guests to find it easier, so hopefully on our next visit, we'll get to see those new signs, painted in the Nubian King colors! :)

Verified reviewGreat location on the Elefantine Island. Amazing views of the Nile, great for bird watching. Osama is a wonderful host. Extremely friendly and warm person keen to make our stay amazing. He took us out in his boat to see Kitchener Island, saw loads of kingfishers, sailed down to the swimming beach and jumped in the Nile. Would highly recommend going out on the boat during your stay with Osama. He also helped us arrange our journey on from Aswan which was very helpful.
As it is opposite side of the island to the ferry it’s a bit of a walk with the bags. We enjoyed walking through all the local houses on Elafantine but It might be a challenge if you require easy access. However I’m sure if you spoke to Osama in advance he would help you out!

Verified reviewOsama is very friendly and helpful, he picked us up at the ferry station. He will pay attention to every one of your needs. The place offers a beautiful view on the west bank.
The hotel is located on the opposite side of the island. It's a walking distance but it can get tricky if you have a heavy suitcase as you can't really roll it on the earthy path. A quick boat ride from the ferry station will make it easier. It can get a little loud as the island water filtering station is next door, but it luckily goes off at night.

Verified reviewVery beautiful roof top and location! The owner family is very kind and helpful. More than 180° Nile view for breakfast and anytime you want to relax outside your room - and enjoy the tea!
Shower is adventurous. You wouldn't find the way to the guest house on your own - but the owner is always available by phone and will pick you up from the ferry anyway 👍

Verified reviewKind owner, although some times a bit too overwhelming. Terras with beautiful view of the Nile. Nice restaurant Nile view around corner.
Bathroom: very small , not always warm water, the shower is above the toilet. Internet did not work in the beginning but was fixed. You have to get used to the matras on the floor. The second night was ok.

Verified reviewFirst, I was concerned about the hotel. There are only a few reviews. But now, I think I had an amazing time in Aswan, because of Osama, the hotel's manager. The location is good, you can go to the city from the Elephantine Island by public ferries for 5 EGP. If you want anything for the transportation, Osama arranges it for a good price. I liked the view of my room so much. It sees the west bank of Nile, without any buildings blocking the view. The facilities in my room was decent, except the air conditioner. I can sleep in any circumstance, so that wasn't a problem for me. But you have the option to stay in the room with air conditioner. The Egyptian Breakfast was so good and big for 5 dollars. I liked the sugarcane black honey the most. Let me not forget the hibiscus juice he gave me when I arrived. Because of Osama, my time in Aswan was great. He arranged a private car for the High Dam, Philae Temple, and the railway station for us to get tickets to Luxor. Then we went to the Tomb of the Nobles, Aswan Botanical Garden and Nubian Village by his boat. Just before the Nubian Village, we stopped and I swam in the cool and crystal clear waters of the Nile. We came back watching the beautiful sunset on the Nile. I had one of the best days of my life... The second day, I went to Abu Simbel. Osama arranged everything including passport registration. For every service he provided, he demanded a good price compared to the outside. You can even ask him to buy something for you to pay to him later. If you want to experience Aswan the best, Nubian King is a great place. Osama saves your time and your budget. He is a great person and friend.
I can't think of a problem in Osama's responsibility.
