Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IcelandWhat I am writing here is mostly for the hotel to look at to make the experience even better. Do not take this is something super negative, it's just a few things that might have been better and also information for people that might be looking into booking this hotel. First of all it's not a luxury accommodation. It's a budget friendly place but we loved seeing other families like us staying there. The area is Gyza district which is poorer and for someone that might not be used to traveling developing countries it might look "scary" or "unsafe". It is totally not, it's just real Egypt and we loved it. I walked out alone at night to pick up food or other things we needed to do. The wifi was not great but worked, just good for someone to know that might have to do video calls, I would not say the wifi is good enough for working like that. The beds were not luxury beds but worked fine. The blinds in the room were good but there was a balcony where there were no blinds so it got really bright in the morning.
This property probably has one of the best views of the pyramids which is basically the number one thing we wanted for our trip with our kids aged 4 and 8. We stayed at the top floor, where breakfast was served and we could see the pyramids out our window. Having breakfast with the pyramid view and going out during the evening to catch up on emails with that amazing view was mindblowing. The staff was so so friendly. Everything from arranging a free pickup at the airport, scheduling private tours for us, going out to ATM with us or just making sure we were having a good time. We did the Pyramid, Saqqara and Memphis tour with Sara a tour guide we totally recommend that they planned for us. We also did the Cairo tour. Both are highly recommended. I would stay here again.

AustraliaShampoo provided but no conditioner TV was not working on our 2 night stay but the view out my bedroom window made up for it
The position of hotel to view all 3 pyramids and even the Sphinx was mind blowing. This is a budget friendly hotel with everything you need and clean but the deck is spectacular and loved being welcomed by the family members of the hotel who took the time to get to know us food was great but suggest booking hotel taxi direct with them as a little difficult to find the hotel in a rabbit warren of backstreets but it meant we had prime position to pyramids

Saudi ArabiaMy only real complaint is that it’s very noisy at night when trying to sleep. However this isn’t the properties fault and we were also there during Ramadan when there was probably more noise and celebrations at night. The TV’s in both our rooms didn’t work but for me that’s not a problem as I don’t watch TV. My parents do though. I couldn’t wash my hair as there wasn’t a hair dryer.
Amazing view of the three pyramids from the hotel rooftop terrace and from our room, and in walking distance to them. Nice modern renovated rooms and bathrooms. The staff were very lovely, caring and welcoming. The breakfast included was decent and you can order lunch and dinner through them too. Food takes about 45 mins after ordering so just keep that in mind.

CanadaThe hotel was very difficult to find. There is no signage and it is not indicated on Google maps which was very frustrating for us and our driver after arriving from a red eye flight from the airport. *For future guests: the hotel is located beside ‘Malak Guest House’ and ‘Karnak House Pyramids View’.
We very much enjoyed our stay at New Scarab. In particular we were very pleased with Aya and Bosyna who were so kind, helpful and accommodating from our arrival to our departure. They allowed us to checkin early (and provided breakfast free of cost) and checkout late which we greatly appreciated as we were very tired. The room was very clean and comfortable.

United KingdomThe room could be cleaner and breakfast a bit richer. Also it would be great if the owners added indications in the main square next to the hotel with the name of the place and also outside of the establishment as it was hard to understand where we had to go.
The highlight is the view on the Pyramids. It is one of the hotels closest to the Pyramids and offers a really amazing view.

UkraineThe accommodation is suitable for an overnight stay or vacation for exactly 1 night, no more! Pros : -The staff are young, nice guys. They have 0 questions. They 10 points. -Great view, in principle as in all hotels near the pyramids. Minuses: -In the bathroom there are no hooks, nowhere to hang even a towel, you are forced to put things on the toilet. Also a terrible smell in the toilet. -Hearing, right above the room is located terrace, until 2 am there were people resting, it felt like they were literally with us in the room, and we could not sleep. Bottom line, MAXIMUM for one night stay) Translated with DeepL.com (free version)

Francethe bathroom/toilet is really to small and not well finished. no reception or same people during the 2 days, which complicated a little the follow up of our request on the guided tour program.
great location and view on the pyramids from the terrasse. big room, all brand new. good wifi. calm hotel but sometimes noise in the neighborood. Young staff withgood english level to communicate. They offered nice price for the taxi from the airport, they gave us good address to eat, they organised us daily tour with driver and french guide, and offered us to watch the Light and Sound show on the pyramids from their other hotel which is closest, that was nice. very good quality price.

NetherlandsThe hotel just started a couple of weeks ago and there are some small things to think about. The place is not on Google maps. Booking.com didn't give the total price and I had to pay a small amount extra. if you want to clean your room you have to ask and they will do directly
Helpful and friendly staff. Location is excellent, rooftop gives you a great view of the pyramids of Giza. Breakfast was also very good and location if perfect, only 2 minutes walk from the entrance of the pyramids and the light show. The hotel also provides trips to several other sightseeings. At all I had a great stay for 4 nights but it should be better to stay here for 6 nights or a week.

United Kingdomlimited choices of breakfast; need more offers such as omelet or hot food or some types of EU breakfast : cereals and yogurt ... As it is a totally new hotel, the staff are still unexperienced therefore there was an unpleasant thing happened ( the staff asked us to pay £20 for a glass of orange juice and 2 mango juice but the manager came on time to stop this none sense charge).
The breakfast was Ok for a short stay (cold food) but lovely coffee and tea. The room is clean, spacious and supplied with a kettle ,tea and coffee; comfort beds. Location is spectacular, just in front of the pyramids.

SpainThe neighbour is a super local place and it's on a tourist area, so you have kids following you sometimes trying to sell you things, but at some point they give up . The area is not that nice, but the hotel is great!
I loved the stay in this hotel. All the personel was super friendly even before my stay. I thought it was "automated messages", as these days it's all chatbots, and when I arrived I realized that it was actually the people that worked there that they really care that you have a good stay. The hotel is beautiful, and it has all you need. Great breakfast, with amazing Pyramid views. I would stay here again if I go next time!! I would like to give a special thanks to Omar. He is super friendly, nice, and really cares that we had a nice time and he helped us a lot to make sure that we were safe and good and happy in our stay in egypt. The world needs more people like him <3
