Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

FranceOn the other hand, there isn't much to do in the surrounding area in the evening. In the room, the shower is open and only separated by a curtain, which isn't very comfortable, especially since the curtain was sticky. I wasn't entirely comfortable sleeping because our room with three single beds was a bit lacking in space, and the air conditioning was quite noisy.
I had a wonderful stay at the New Memnon Hotel. The owner and all the staff are truly lovely, very kind and welcoming, which makes the experience even more enjoyable. The garden is beautiful and perfectly maintained, a true haven of peace. The swimming pool is undoubtedly the big highlight, ideal for cooling off in the heat. Finally, the breakfast was generous and delicious, perfect for starting the day. I highly recommend it!

FranceWe liked everything, the place is very clean, very nice view from the terrace to the Valley of the kings. And even the view to the garden and swimming pool from the balcony is superb. Plus, they make their own food and meals, from fesh ingredients. We loved the food. Sayed the owner is a really nice person, helpful, and very generous. Don't hesitate to come here, this is the best hotel we had. And if one day we come back to Louxor again, we will 100% come back to this hotel. Thank you Sayed and all the workers in this place. Amazing job.

United StatesSayed, the owner, is a wonderfully warm and gracious host; he legitimately made us feel like family. He also provided excellent recommendations for drivers, guides, and experiences around Luxor. The New Memnon was a calm green oasis after the craziness of Cairo.

Costa RicaWe stayed for just one night, but it was more than enough to have a great experience. The owner was very kind to us, treated us with respect, and helped us organize our quick trip to Luxor. The hotel is great, and every small detail is taken care of. Even the lighting ambiance choice transmits that calm and mystical Luxor atmosphere.

United KingdomThe hotel has a great atmosphere and is very clean. My experience may be quite different from other people's because I travelled to egypt during the summer. Generally, it's a less busy time. And so the hotel was far from fully booked. This gave me the privilege of spending time with the owner, who is a great man and a wonderful host. He cares about his guests deeply. I never usually write reviews, but I was somewhat blown away by my hotel experience at this place. I am from the UK and decided to travel to egypt for 10 days. I started in Cairo and headed down to Giza, Luxor, and Aswan. Luxor was by far my favourite part of the trip. This is in part because of the historical sites such as Karnak temple but also the new Memnon Hotel. The food they serve is delicious, and the outdoor seating area is beautiful. There is also a great view from the top floor bar overlooking limestone cliffs and the valley of the kings. One of the highlights of my trip for sure, and if I ever travel to luxor again, this is where I will stay.

SpainEverything was fantastic! Upon arrival after a long traveling day the hotel owner did not hesitate in opening the restaurant specially for us and made us feel at home instantly. He was also extremely helpful with organizing the best experiences for us with short notice and at a great price. Boat trip in the Nile with Ahmed and balloon flight overlooking the Valley of the Kings totally recommended! The owner and all of the staff were always smiling and super helpful. Thank you for making our stay a memorable one!

ChinaIt’s a pity that my schedule was tight and I couldn’t stay a few more days.
The hotel owner was incredibly kind and friendly—it was a powerful contrast after being misled and overwhelmed by several other locals. The environment felt warm and homey. There’s a tree in the courtyard where birds often rest, adding a peaceful charm. At night, it’s wonderfully quiet, and I slept very well. The spacious lawn is home to a few kittens and rabbits, which made the atmosphere even more delightful. In the evening, you can go up to the rooftop restaurant to watch the sunset. Most of the surrounding buildings are low and flat, so the golden glow of the setting sun spreads softly over the distant mountains. I highly recommend the suites with a balcony—when sunbathing, you can rest your feet on the railing, and it’s incredibly relaxing and comfortable.

EgyptWe had a wonderful stay at the New Memnon Hotel in Luxor. The location is perfect just a short distance from the Valley of the Kings and other major sites on the West Bank. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed for a relaxing stay But what truly made the experience unforgettable was Mr. Sayed, the owner. From the moment we arrived, he made us feel like family. He’s one of those rare people who genuinely cares not just about running a good hotel, but about making sure every guest feels at home. Whether it was helping, or just checking in to make sure everything was okay, he was always there. If you're visiting Luxor and want a peaceful authentic place to stay I highly recommend the New Memnon Hotel I’ll definitely return

BelgiumOur recent stay at New Memnon Hotel was absolutely amazing! From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the hotel's cleanliness and charming atmosphere. The rooms were spotless, cozy, and well-maintained, making our stay incredibly comfortable. One of the highlights was the beautiful garden, where adorable rabbits hopped around freely, it was so peaceful. The hotel also has a great restaurant where the breakfast takes place but we've also took dinner there and it was very good. What truly set this hotel apart, however, was the owner. He was one of the most honest and kind-hearted person we've met in Egypt, genuinely valuing human connections and going above and beyond for his guests. He took care of every little detail, ensuring that everyone felt welcome and well taken care of. His warmth and dedication made the experience unforgettable. If you’re looking for a place that combines comfort, charm, and heartfelt hospitality, we highly recommend this hotel.

FranceWe spent an amazing time at The New Memnon Hotel! It all started well right from the start when the staff helped us get a driver from the bus station to the hotel although it was very late at night. Sayed is a most welcoming host, always here to help. The setting is amazing, the swimming pool was an amzing plus, clean and with long chairs in the shade we spend many hours reading to the sound of birds by the pool. I recommend a stay there to anyone who wants relaxation.

Mr Sayed was an AMAZING host! The best! 🍀 We had incorrect flights, we had other tours schedule (no time to complete) and Mr Sayed helped us solve everything! And by everything, I mean EVERYTHING! Even our airport transfer at 4am as our shuttle was a no show, he kindly took us to the airport (no hesitation) even with a breakfast box, incredible! There are no words to describe the unconditional helped received and how the staff made our stay come to peace as we were so stressed. Even got us delicious Birell (non-alcoholic beer) while relaxing in the pool with the view of the beautiful garden and the birds chirping. Please check the rrof top, day or night for a breathtaking view.... Egypt stole our hearts ❤️

GermanyEverything was fine
The hospitality, friendliness and helpfulness of the entire staff were and are unique. We really enjoyed it and all our wishes were fulfilled. The owner was always very accommodating, gave really good tips and advice and, if desired (and not at all intrusive), also organized accordingly (morning trip to the Valley of the Kings, boat tour, ....). We always enjoyed the breakfast and the evening meal. There are also small "supermarkets" around the corner. Drinks or small delicacies are also served by the pool on request. The rooms were cleaned daily. The air conditioning worked very well and the small fridge also did its job reliably. The peace and quiet that the entire beautiful complex exudes was something very special, especially as it is very busy on the other side of the Nile.

United KingdomOur stay at this hotel in Luxor was nothing short of exceptional. The owner Sayed, was absolutely wonderful, so accommodating, helpful, and incredibly patient as we figured out our plans. He went above and beyond to help us organise our days, even arranging a driver for our entire stay, which made getting from one amazing site to the next seamless and stress-free. The location of the hotel is stunning tucked away in a peaceful area that felt like a true escape. The pool area was a dream; the perfect place to relax after a day of exploring. Every single staff member we interacted with was kind, polite, and eager to help. The attention to detail was on another level. The host truly set the bar high for hospitality, and we’ve never experienced such thoughtful care during our travels. What an experience, absolutely unforgettable.

United KingdomGem of a hotel. Great location for the Valley of the King's. Very quiet so not great if you want nightlife and a choice of restaurants but we enjoyed having a rest and ate in the hotel every night. This was unusual for us but you have to be up so early to get to the attractions before the crowds and the heat, that some enforced rest was really appreciated. The food in the hotel was exceptional, particularly the fish tagine. The hotel owner was incredibly helpful and arranged drivers and a guide to take us to the various attractions. Again, we usually do all of this ourselves and I was a bit resistant at first but it was far easier to have a private tour. All trips were reasonably priced and the drivers and guides were excellent. The owner helped us to have a fantastic holiday.

United KingdomWe thoroughly enjoyed our five days at the hotel. It can be described as an oasis due to its lovely setting: a peaceful garden with a pristine swimming pool and an inviting al fresco dining area. The rooms are spacious, with comfortable beds, a powerful shower, a fridge, a safe and tea making facilities. Our bedroom, had a balcony overlooking the swimming pool and a large green field. Friendly, helpful and professional care is the top priority of the owner, Mr Syed. He is available at the property 24/7 to guide and advise with booking of excursions, hot air balloon rides, professional Egyptologists and any other need of even the most demanding tourist. All vehicles are new with experienced drivers. We enjoyed healthy dinners and breakfasts at the restaurant every day and were even provided with an excellent packed breakfast for the day we had an early start. The location of The New Memnon Colossus Hotel is excellent, 300 yards from the Colossus statues and within minutes of the Valley of the Kings.
