How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewLocated near the dock, take a sailboat.
The safety factor is low. The boss sleeps in the lobby of our floor and cooks in the middle of the night. There is no hot water in the shower room to provide a shower. When we arrive, the stairs are dark. No one is waiting for us to check in at the hotel. It took a long time for the boss to come back! Lock and merge
why do you think safty factor is low ?!! it is a pity that people cconcede emergency case are general and they fish mistakes ,,, 99% of the guests call whenever they have problm ,, and i check and fix it ,, and you didnt say that you dont have hot water ,, i would fix the problem emdiatly when descoverd ,, but you came at 2 am ,, after we closed the doors and switched off the light ,, and you didn't inform me that the hot water is not working ,, it should be working, and i slept on the same floor because that was my apartment, and i gave it to you because i was fully booked and cocked breakfast omelette for some guests' orders breackfast before Abusimbel and i didn't make any noizy and if you didn't go to the toilet at that time you wouldn't know that i am cooking,, and you or your friends told me that you liked my place and it is lovely 🤔🤔,, without saing any comments 🤔🤔 many guests say what ever if they have any complain or problem they tell me while they stay ,, because problems happened and i maintain it ,, and some of them say your place is very nice but it would be better if you do so and so ,, etc ,, however, i hope you tell the hotels responsible about any problem you have while you stay so they can fix it and you can dnjoy the stay with the facilities you need ,,, good luck thanks

Verified reviewI had a great week-long stay at this centrally located hotel in Aswan. It was easy to find, and the host kindly helped arrange my arrival from the airport. The hospitality really stood out—one evening they brought okra dip and bread, another time an Egyptian tea, and on a few mornings I woke up to bananas and bread left by the door. They even provided a desk and chair for me to work remotely and added extra cushions on the firm mattress to make it more comfortable—super thoughtful! The air conditioning worked well, the WiFi was fast and mostly reliable (only a couple of dropped meetings out of dozens), and the host was always available on WhatsApp to help with check-in and anything else I needed. It’s a great value for the money, and I really appreciated the warm, welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommended!

Verified reviewConfusing to find due to different naming in Google maps and other Guesthouses with similar name (City Center). Very outdated Guesthouse. Everything old. Prayer Sound from the street because of a special celebration with police and fire brigade present right opposite the street. A local described it as mad. Madly loud it was during my stay. Probably a special day. No fire safety. Old worn out beds and furniture. Toilet partially broken. At least toilet paper was provided. Look at the photo how the hotel „sign“ was sprayed at the entrance and you know everything.
i know that the noisy of the cermony was awful and made you angry and annoyed my so much but that cermony happened 2 times a year in all egypt and i cant change it,, and regarding the smiler names I think it is not my fault if others using my name to get more customers after i made good reputation,, but i sent the exact location and the photo of the place in Automatic massage in booking.com so you don't get confused ,, ,, ,, and all you said is surrounding and happening in all egypt and that doesn't make my hotel so bad as you describe it ,, it is completely unfair ,, and you didn't have to stay as you could just find another fancy hotel to fit your needs and i am very flexible with that specialty i made cancelation is free any time so people can changed reservation dates any time to fit there needs etc ,, how ever i know that no one can satisfy every one but at least the majority of my guests are happy and even they come back with there families and stay at my place ☺️☺️ but i will keep all your remarks in mind and i will change what i can change as much as i can 🤝🤝 regards

Verified reviewGood location and value for money. The communication with the host was rather smooth, even if he was sick.
The rooms aren't particularly fancy, but they are worth their price. We had a slightly negative experience with a one-way tour to Luxor we had booked through the Guest House. I don't think it's the host's fault, but still, there had been some communication issues that made the trip not so pleasant.
