For info: Difficult to find entrance. The address on Google maps is correct, but the entrance is off a side street and into a courtyard and turn right. Then there's a sign. 6th floor in the amazing antique lift!

Really friendly place. Room was basic, but fine (internal window, so dark). You can sit in the lobby area and there's a small kitchen for making tea/coffee. Central location. We also booked their Saqqara, Memphis and Giza tour, which was good.

The stuff was nice. It's a bit hard to find the place. And in the end, they canceled my booking, but I stayed there and paid the night. Maybe they don't wanna pay tax, that's why they canceled it on booking 🤔

Excellent staff Specially Abdoz. Very helpful. He helped me book uber motor bike to goto cave church and also airport taxi. Central location. Value for money.

The only potential drawback for solo travelers is that the social/public area might be a little small to socialize. However, this can easily be overcome, as solo travelers often know where to meet new friends.

Minerva is my home in Cairo. While it may not be the largest or most luxurious hostel in the city, the staff—Abdoz, Kareem, and Ahmed—are truly exceptional. They create a family-like atmosphere, always smiling, fun, and eager to help. They are knowledgeable about local attractions and dining options, and they are incredibly nice. The prices are affordable, offering great value for your money. The location is also very convenient, within walking distance of Tahrir Square and the Egyptian Museum, with many excellent restaurants nearby - I literally went to the restaurant Abdoz recommended every day when I was in Cairo. I stayed here three times during my three-week trip to Egypt. Thank you for everything!!!

Kareem and Abdoz are rockstars!!! Amazing receptionists who literally helped me plan my entire 3 weeks Egypt itinerary on the day I landed in Cairo. Clean room, bathroom and beds were very comfy with air conditioned rooms. Location can't be more perfect.. Egyptian museum, Nile river, Khan El Khalili and few of the other spot are 10-15 mins walking distance away. I stayed here 3 times in span of 3 weeks and I would definitely come back in the future :) 10/10 recommended!

My friend and I recently stayed at Minerva Grand Hostel. From the moment we walked through the door, the staff greeted us with big smiles and made us feel right at home. They warmly welcomed us and enthusiastically provided recommendations for the best sights and restaurants in the area. Our room was exactly as pictured - spacious and spotlessly clean. The beds were very comfortable and everything we needed was provided, from fresh towels to basic toiletries. Overall, we really felt like we stumbled upon a hidden gem of a hostel. Both the accommodations and customer service far exceeded our expectations at this very fair price point.
