EgyptWe stayed here for 2 nights around our wedding, and it was truly special. On the first night we had two separate rooms, and on the second night, after the wedding, we moved into the same room. The staff were extremely understanding and accommodating of our situation, which meant a lot to us during such an important time. The place itself is beautiful, comfortable, and well-kept, but what really stood out was the kindness and helpfulness of the team. They went above and beyond to make our stay smooth and memorable. We’ll always remember this stay fondly, and we highly recommend this place to couples looking for comfort and thoughtful service.

EgyptOne of the first inconveniences encountered was the absence of clear signposts on the surrounding roads, making the hotel difficult to locate for first-time visitors. Improved external signage would greatly enhance accessibility. The hotel features only one swimming pool, which is relatively small and not particularly suitable for children or inexperienced swimmers. For a resort-style property, this limitation is quite noticeable and disappointing. There is only one restaurant on-site, and the variety of dishes is extremely limited, particularly for guests staying several days. Menu diversity is lacking, which detracts from the overall culinary experience. Breakfast was especially underwhelming. There were no fruits, croissants, or any fresh pastries typically expected at even mid-tier establishments. This needs immediate reconsideration to meet basic guest expectations. The extra beds provided resembled outdated hospital cots, both in appearance and comfort level. This was particularly disappointing for families or groups needing additional sleeping arrangements.
I recently spent four days at this hotel in one of their junior suites. The experience was generally pleasant in some aspects, though a few shortcomings impacted the overall impression. The hotel boasts a fantastic private beach that is both clean and spacious. The sand is well-maintained, and there are plenty of umbrellas already set up, offering shaded relaxation spots for all guests. This is undoubtedly one of the hotel's strongest assets. The service throughout the stay was consistently warm and professional. The staff were genuinely welcoming and went out of their way to ensure guest comfort. Special appreciation is due to Miss Nervana at the reception desk, whose professionalism and courteous demeanor made check-in and all inquiries seamless and pleasant. The junior suite was fully furnished in a canabas-style aesthetic, giving the room a cozy, natural feel. The suite was clean, and housekeeping maintained high standards throughout the stay. The layout and spacing were generous, contributing to a relaxed atmosphere.

QatarUnfortunately, while the beach and pool were nice, the rest of the experience was bad. Firstly, after the first night, a terrible smell started coming form our bathroom. We promptly reported this to the hotel, and they sent an employee to fix the problem. This fixed it for some time, but it came back soon after. When we reported it again, they again sent an employee to fix it. At this point we realized the employee isn't really doing much, he's just dumping a bunch of soap down the drain so it smells better temporarily. This repeated another 2 times (4 times total), and the smell did not leave our room for the entirety of the 3 night stay for us. This is unacceptable for a 5-star resort at this price point, and we should have immediately been moved to another vacant room. The next big problem was the towels we were provided for the pool and the beach. These were dirty and stained, again unacceptable for a 5-star experience. At some point I went with the staff to the towel room, and we went through 5 towels together, each one dirty before a settled for the least stained option. Not a good experience. There were other, less big issues: - There is still construction around, and the path to the resort is hidden through a literal construction site. This makes it difficult to exit the hotel to go get food for instance. - The food available on-site is mediocre, and slow. They take 50mins to prepare your food, cancel orders randomly, charge a fixed service fee of 12% even though the service isn't good. But they run a monopoly. The free breakfast comes with cold bread and many annoying flies. - This is a matter of preference, but for me the place was a bit too empty. I don't want an overcrowded beach, but having only 1 or 2 other people is also a little sad for me. But the beach experience was still very very good. Finally, we were offered some compensation for the bad experience, but this also ended up being a very slow problem with many hurdles.
Makai is a beach resort hotel, and as such the beach was actually really nice. It's not busy, the water is a gorgeous blue color, and there's plenty of umbrellas to sit/lie down at on the beach. There is also a lovely pool, with a similarly nice seating. There is staff on hand to bring you food and drinks that you can order.

QatarThe hotel was a construction site noise day & night workers building something wandering around no privacy. Only 1 cafe not enclosed no AC & flies are every where over the food & inside the rooms. Main access road & drop off were under construction. My car got covered with construction dust all the time so our clothes as well. My wife expensive sun glasses fendi usd 500 price was stolen while we swam in the pool. No cctv cameras operating in this area & no security looking after our belongings The pool was not clean & I picked up ear infection. This was frustrating. Nearest shopping was like 30 km away & so is the gas station I had to drive on flat tyre to get there. No facilities at all in the hotel. If you wish to eat in your room to enjoy ac & avoid flies the meal price is 1.5 what you get in the open cafe called tant. I could not park my car in front of my room while other guest were allowed to do so , no execuse given when I complained that all guests should be treated equalky.
