How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewIt was my first time in Egypt as a solo traveller from The UK, and for me, the experience was exceptional. For the price and the location of the hotel, it is definitely worth every single penny. The staff is so friendly and prompts fast service in whichever situation. Whenever you need them, they are always available. The terrace on top is simply pwrfect for amazing view of the pyramids not all nine but you can have a selfie with such angle where all the major ones in the background will be there without too much space between each of them. As the property is family owned, they treat their guests with utmost respect, and you definitely feel home.. The owner helps you with everything, whatever you need and not to mention their agent. Farag is a very kind human being I have met in Egypt. I'm so glad I booked this hotel. Because of him I did most of the tours in cairo with the least money as I was a bit tight on my budget but a private tour with him was truly exceptional from the great pyramids to the museums to khan el khalili, all credit goes to him and the hotel owner. I will definitely come back here as I didn't have much time to enjoy. Thanks for having me)
Not anything that I personally disliked here. With such an amazing prices of the rooms and tour services is definitely worth it. And as the location is a bit old, so unfortunately there wasn't a lift present but the staff helped with my luggage. One thing I want to tell every tourist is that, please be aware of scammer here in Egypt, fact check everything before you buy anything, check for reviews of specific shops on onljne. Just keep these things in your mind when you visit. Happy travelling) Shukran Gidden Mr Momoud and Farag)
We are waiting for you bro to come in Egypt again ❤️

Verified reviewThis hostel has a nice view of the pyramids and the room is clean. The host is very friendly and easy to communicate with. He also provides free mineral water and coffee. Pretty nice!
The location is a little hard to find, there are no obvious signs, so you’d better contact the host in advance.

Verified reviewIt’s a very comfy and large room with a shared bath. There are only 3 rooms in total so there was never a queue when I was there. You can use the kitchen - free coffee, tea, fridge etc - and the living room as if it was your home. The host is very nice and always offering help. But the best thing is the view from the rooftop terrace right above the hostel. Best views of the pyramids. So the whole stay is great value for money.
The flat is in the 4th floor so lots of stairs, so be ready for that, but that’s the price for the amazing view 😉 As with most hostels in Cairo the location is difficult to find from the street, so contact the host upfront to sent you the exact location or meet you downstairs.

Verified reviewI highly recommend this place. First of all, I got a private room with keys, clean sheets and a towel, which I didn’t expect because, as a hostel, I was sure I would be sharing a room with others. The rooftop is super chill, with a stunning view of the pyramids – perfect for a quiet morning coffee. The kitchen was fully equipped, so you could even cook there. The bathroom had a bathtub, and the water was hot and flowed consistently, which isn’t always the case in hostels, based on my experience. Secondly, breakfast was included, and after one portion, I was full enough that I didn’t need to buy anything for lunch. Lastly, the owner who managed the hostel was so lovely, kind, and helpful. He spoke good English, which made it easy to connect with him, get some advices and have conversations on various topics.

Verified reviewThis is a fantastic place with an excellent view of the pyramids. It feels so cozy and like it is your own nicely decorated apartment. The room is nice and bed is cozy. You do have to share bathroom but it was never an issue. I wish I could have stayed more nights.
Nobody ever asked me what time I prefer breakfast. When it was finally brought, Unfortunately, a piece of bread with 2 slices of cheese inside isn’t a proper breakfast. Better don’t provide anything then!

Verified reviewMahmoud, the owner, is a kind person, and I'm so grateful for his help. After sightseeing, I returned to the hotel feeling hot and sweaty, but Mahmoud kindly allowed me to take a shower and rest for a while. The room was comfortable, and the AC worked well. The Wi-Fi was also the best compared to other hotels I've stayed in. Thank you so much, and hopefully, I'll be back soon, Inchallah!

Verified reviewI think this is the best place to stay near the Pyramid. Affordable price and you get a spacious and clean room. Plus, A/C inside the room was also in a good condition which make the room getting cool very fast. Bed, bed sheet, pillows, blanket were all perfect! The owner was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast also amazing. One small thing that I like the most is the owner and his family always refill bottles of water in the refrigerator which is really appreciated! The rooftop also has a great view of all three pyramids. And there're also lots of nearby shops and restaurants. Highly recommended for a solo traveler!
