For improvement, it would be great if the hostel could provide daily packages for guests, and also consider accepting different exchange rates. During my stay, I had some difficulties withdrawing money from the ATM and only had SAR, while the hostel mainly accepts USD. I completely understand there may be reasons for this policy, but if such flexibility could be added, it would make things easier for travelers.

I stayed in one of the private rooms and it was fabulous. Such a beautiful hostel/hotel. The staff are helpful, met an owner and he is lovely. The hotel was even more beautiful to me than in the pictures. Beautifully decorated, lots of details to look at and admire. I stayed here twice and I would go back again if I return to Cairo. Also, rooms were super clean, breakfast is inexpensive, healthy, and delicious! Also, neighbourhood is interesting and safe for a solo female to walk around. The house is tucked behind a gate and is a quiet place away from Cairo’s noisy traffic.

The bottom beds need to be cleaned underneath and in the corners. They should be swept/vacummed out and sanitized.

The room my husband and I had was spacious and well decorated. Loved the bath tub in there, added an extra romantic point. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. The location was great for us and it was close to everywhere we wanted to be. Loved our stay!

So much better than what I expected. The place takes the hostel experience to a new level of service excellence, cleanliness, and beauty that you'd expect from upscale hotels. And yet, for a very low price and an excellent location. Close to most of the spots you want to visit in Cairo. It's also smartly designed, offers at the same time space for socializing and space for rest and time alone between travels.

It’s a bit more expensive than what I’ve typically paid for a hostel in Egypt but you are getting what you pay for with such a beautiful place.

It’s definitely the most aesthetically pleasing place I’ve stayed in Egypt. The building is beautiful and the facilities are top notch. There’s a gorgeous pool, a work station for any digital nomads and free tea. The staff are also really nice. It’s a good location, only about a 25 minute walk to Tahir bus station and there’s loads of really nice and affordable places to eat nearby.

Just wrapped up my second stay at Villa Layla, and let me tell you, I’m officially a loyal fan. This place is a hidden gem of Cairo just a short walk from Garden City, with the Four Seasons and embassies. The staff? Absolute legends - they make you feel like family. It’s perfect for couples, solo adventurers, young explorers, and those of us who still feel young after two cups of coffee. Don’t hesitate, just book it now and you’ll be sitting in the charming terrace or by the pool of Villa Layla with tea thinking, “Yep, that random review was right.”

Easily one of the most aesthetic hostels I’ve stayed in. Walking into this hostel feels like you’re in a French villa- hence the name. The facilities are all very new and well maintained. The ceilings in the rooms are so high and there’s so much space that when you shut the curtain you feel like you’re in your own room. The social area and the pool in the back garden is a huge plus! The host is really nice and helpful. I met some great people here as well. Overall 10 out of 10!
