Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

ItalyI truly enjoyed my stay at Kato Dool. The architecture and colors of the property create a magical atmosphere that immediately makes you feel at ease. The place was very comfortable, spotless, and thoughtfully designed, offering many interesting activities to enjoy during the stay. The staff was exceptionally kind, welcoming, helpful, and genuinely caring, which made the experience even more special. Another highlight is that they organize trips to Abu Simbel Temple at a very good price, which I highly recommend. Overall, I’m very happy with my stay and suggest everyone visiting Aswan to try Kato Dool Wellness Resort.

MexicoThe shower design could be a bit more comfortable as it is quite small and awkward but otherwise everything was great!
We had a great stay at Kato Dool. The property is beautiful (although a bit hard to find if you hire your own taxi!). Staff was very helpful and they arranged some amazing experiences for us going to Abu Simbel and going for a sunset sail on the Nile.

United Arab EmiratesPool needed a little cleaning .. bathroom showers need some fixing and perhaps deeper cleaning , it’s clean but looks scruffy with some left overs from building times perhaps. Small bottle of water over a dollar is a bit too much . Being an eco kind of resort should get great filters that customer could have an option not to use plastic ..
Well … location you either love it or hate it , there is a price to pay for views!!! Nothing around and to get there you SHOULD TAKE taxi recommended as it will be a challenge to find or get there. I wouldn’t use Tuktuk personally , it’s off-road bumpy and dusty long way .. hotel is beautiful if you want to have eco friendly Nubian living Food was great , a bit too oily for me but very tasty. We were in hot time so it was very hot ! Room takes time to cool but comfy to sleep. Pool helps to cool , also a steep walk down the dune to the beach !! We didn’t bother about WiFi as we know in Egypt is a problem , had our own phones with data

AustraliaThis place is just so beautiful. The staff especially were very friendly and accommodating. The food was also incredible at the restaurant. We were unsure about the location, but it's so peaceful being a bit more remote and free tuk tuks are available to the village which made getting around easier.

MaltaI recommend having some snacks one can buy while relaxing by the pool. Other then that there is nothing negative to say about Kato Dool
The resort is located a bit far but easily reached by a free tuk tuk provided by the resort. Having said that it’s location has the most breathtaking views. The resort is very well maintained, beautifully built and complimented by it’s decor and vibrant colours. Breakfast and dinner was of good quality and we truly loved having dinner overlooking an incredible view. The pool is a plus to the resort and we happen to use it alot.Last but not least the staff are super friendly and helpful. Thank you Abdull Sad,Tarak and all the rest whom we happen to meet while on our stay . Hoping to see you again someday.

United StatesRestaurant was wildly overpriced so we didn’t eat there.
Little tuk tuk you can request to take you into the Nubian village. From there you will need to find your own transport which can be pretty hard. The staff is wonderful - easily reachable by WhatsApp. The property looks just like the photos - beautiful. The only hotel on the West Bank that has a pool! Divine!

United StatesThought the breakfast was going to have fruit probably from other reviews and while it was really good and a lot of food there was no fruit
It's almost completely handmade from the exterior to the furniture 7 years were it felt like a fever dream arriving there because the journey after the Nubian village is just 15 minutes of tuk tuk thru the dessert

CroatiaThe only small issue during our stay was that the main WiFi wasn't working. As the reception explained it was a problem with the service provider and not them. They had a backup WiFi, but it was only available around the reception area and not in the rooms. It didn't bother us much, but if you need stable WiFi in your room for work or something like that, might be good to check with them in advance if the issue has been solved.
We stayed for three days in this beautiful resort and it was great! The location of the resort is amazing, it's located on the opposite side of Aswan. We had a room with balcony and a beautiful view overlooking the Nile river in front of us, Aswan city to the left and the Aswan High Dam on the right. The room was very clean and the beds were comfortable. There is AC, a small fridge and water kettle. The staff spoke perfectly English and they were very very nice. They arranged a trip to Abu Simbel for us, and also a visit to the nearby Nubian village with many souvenir shops. Food was very nice and there is a lot to choose from: meat, fish, vegetables.. Also the coffee was good, which was not always the case during our Egypt vacation. The pool area was the perfect place to chill in the afternoon and evenings as most of the terrace was in the shade from the reception/restaurant building at that point. The location is a bit away from Aswan center, but if you prefer some quieter area, would definitely recommend. It is reachable by car (unpaved road partly), and the hotel offers free tuk-tuk to the nearby Nubian village and back.

BrazilOur stay in Kato Dool - Aswan was absolutely wonderful. The rooms were spacious and very comfortable, with cozy beds and a stunning view of the Nile. The entire staff was incredibly kind, attentive, and welcoming. The food was delicious, and the architecture and natural beauty of the place are truly unique. What made the experience even more special was being able to walk down to the Nile and bathe along its peaceful shores — a simple yet magical moment that created a deep sense of connection with the land. We also took a tuk-tuk to the nearby Nubian village, which added a rich cultural layer to our visit. Watching the sunrise and sunset by the room balcony was unforgettable. It was an extraordinary experience. I definitely plan to return and highly recommend it!

NetherlandsIt would be nice to have AC in the dining room, though all the fans made the heat bearable. The dinner service was a bit on the slow side. It didn’t bother us much, but the shower would be more challenging for larger people. Wi-Fi was only working in the restaurant/reception area, not in the rooms.
The property (including the rooms) is absolutely adorable, it’s so beautifully and lovingly designed with lots of little touches here and there. All the staff was wonderful and friendly. Our room was large and clean, though the bathroom was a bit on the smaller side. The staff also assisted us with a booking a driver for the day to take us to Philae temple and the High dam. The swimming pool was nice and cool with a beautiful view of the Nile. The view from our balcony was amazing as well, made even better by enjoying it from our hot tub. The food was delicious, for breakfast and dinner.

United KingdomThere were a few minor things which if taken care of would really propel this place to a new level. The wifi wasn’t working for the duration of our stay, I think due to the remote location. The pool was a bit dirty, with some sand on the bottom and bits of plastic floating in the water.
An amazing location with stunning views overlooking the Nile. The resort has so much character and a laid-back, colourful vibe. Every room, item of furniture and piece of art is unique and handmade which adds to the welcoming and homely feel of the entire resort. The staff are all incredibly happy and helpful. The food was beautifully home-cooked and filled with flavour.
