Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThis a unique property of Nubian origin. It was in a perfect location to the Abu Simbel Temple. The staff were absolutely courteous, friendly and very helpful. They went of their way to help us with all our needs. We enjoyed staying in this unique structure. The food also was very good. I recommend this beautiful place to anyone going to visit the Abu Simbel Temple.

United KingdomFor Lunch or dinner, the food takes minimum 45-60 mins to arrive. Please improve the food service and delivery times. 1* cut only due to this reason
If you visit Abu Simbel, you need to stay here The accomodation gives feeling of living in Nubian village type houses. Very beautiful Rooms are big, extremely clean. Beds are the most comfortable we slept on. Staff is very helpful and friendly Very close to Abu Simbel temple (5 mins drive) Breakfast is basic and homely. Omlette and bread basket with butter, jam and honey I liked the bread which is soft at top and crusty at bottom. Hot coffee or tea is provided

NetherlandsThe beds were very hard, not comfortable. Pricelevel for this location was high, also for other services.
The service of the staff was very good. Normal early breakfast could be served, no packed boxes. The food was very good, both for breakfast and dinner. Location was good.

JapanThe hot water was poor. It was cold at night, so I wanted to relax and warm myself up with a hot shower, but after a while, only cold water came out.
It was just as wonderful as I had imagined. Dinner and breakfast were also delicious. The tajine pot was especially tasty. There was a bathtub in the room, and since it was very windy and cold at Abu Simbel Temple, it was nice to be able to soak in the bathtub when we got home. I asked a driver to drive me here from Aswan Airport, and he was very helpful. I am very grateful. I have been to Giza, Cairo, and Luxor, but The Nubian House in Abu Simbel was a place where time passed slowly, and we woke up to the birds singing. It was an unforgettable and wonderful memory for us. Thank you very much❤️

United StatesThere is no shower curtain so water gets all over the bathroom floor, and we ran out of hot water halfway through our shower. It would be a good idea to install shower curtains to prevent water damage and guests from slipping. Lack of counter space in the bathroom, lack of closet to hang things. There is a dresser but you can't hang anything from it, nor were there any hangers to wash and dry your belongings.
The restaurant on site is good. We had dinner and breakfast there and were happy with both experiences. The portions are good, and the bread with the dips were delicious. The location is 20 minutes walk to the temple. The property owners are very friendly and helpful.

SpainElectric kettle is not provided in the room. Location is a bit farther to the temples than other options so you need a car. In any case, we had hired a driver for the trip so it's not something we needed to add up.
The complex is really well kept. Very nice courtyard and the rooms are amazing. If you're planning a visit to Abu Simbel I'd say the overnight trip is really worth it.

United StatesWhen I saw on the map and read in reviews that it was on Lake nassar, I was disappointed upon arriving that there is in fact no view at all of the lake. The place is situated on a reed filled cove of the lake. It's a pretty cove full of plants and wildlife, but not the views I was hoping for. Not a negative necessarily, just want to let other travelers know what to expect.
Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Very well docorated, beautiful looking place. Clean rooms and awesome food. Helped us book a sunset boat tour.

United KingdomCould be a bit more environmentally friendly, e.g. a lot of unnecessary plastic used for covering food and in breakfast packs - but this was the only downside for me
The place is amazing, views over Aswan and the Nile are incredible. Rooms are really intricately decorated. The food is delicious and the staff are really friendly and helpful. They can help arrange tours making everything very easy. It's not far from the Nubian village and a short car ride into Aswan.

GermanyLike any other place in Egypt, the WiFi was just okay to text but not anything more, but that's okay. We had a 4G SIM and the network coverage was decent.
The property itself was great. During the evenings, there's a chill atmosphere of simply sitting in their restaurant, enjoying the breeze, and being in a laid-back mode. Given how remote the place of Abu Simbel is, this is quite a good place to stay overnight with all the normal facilities one may need.

United Arab EmiratesThe shower curtain was a bit fragile and fell apart, and the showers are made for short people.
Very friendly staff. They made us feel instantly at home and looked after any needs that we had. The food was good, they even sorted us out with an early morning pre-breakfast coffee and snack, before offering us proper breakfast later after the sunrise temple experience. They offered us a sunset boat ride on the lake, which is a must do. This is a colourful and relaxed place to stay in Abu Simbel. It’s walking distance to the temples for sunrise. Would stay again.

MaltaNot really anything to do with the hotel, but the boat ride was not worth the value, it also dropped us off at Abu Simbel, we then had to walk back to the hotel, we were expecting the ride to include a pick up.
Owners are very nice and welcoming. The food was delicious, possibly the best we ate all holiday. The room was large and comfortable, ac worked well. The owners sorted out lifts to Abu Simbel and back, we also booked a sunrises boat trip through the company. The hotel is really pretty, typical Nubian house.

United KingdomNice place to stay in Abu Simbel, it is a beautiful colourful and well kept building with lovely gardens. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Good fixed price dinner, which was more expensive than elsewhere in Egypt, but seems more standard for Abu Simbel. Staff were friendly. Not far from the temples, which is handy if you're making multiple visits (eg returning to see the light show). The driver we had booked and brought with us from Aswan was made welcome here by the staff.

All, everything is perfect, the hospitality, staff very very friendly, very close from the temples but if you don't want walk, the hotel has a tuk tuk. The hotel is beautiful and very clean. If you are looking a real Nubian experience, this is the place. We lost the 1st night and the owner offered stay one night more. The road to Abu Simbel is close for tourists at 5pm so if you arrive in Aswan late (between 4-5 pm)to be pickup by a taxi, is impossible you can go to Abu Simbel, is better you stay one night in Aswan and Next day Go. You can arrange everything with the hotel, taxi and stay one night in Aswan, also they have a new beautiful nubio hotel in Aswan. Thank you very much to owner and all team Kabara Nubian House.
