Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesRate Kato Waidi Nubian Resort at Nubian Village is truly a beautiful and welcoming place to stay. Nestled right in the heart of the Nubian village, it offers an authentic and peaceful experience just a short walk from the local market. The area is vibrant but calm, and it feels like you're stepping into a different rhythm of life. One of the best parts about staying here is the location—it’s right by the eatery where you can easily rent a felucca (traditional boat) for a very fair price. We originally booked just one night but loved it so much we stayed for two. We had the pleasure of meeting a local named Bob Marley, who docks his boat just outside the hotel. He gave us a wonderful private tour on the Nile for about three hours, taking us to a serene local beach and showing us hidden spots along the river. It was an unforgettable experience. The food at the hotel is delicious and authentically Nubian—fresh, flavorful, and made with love. Everything about the place feels local and genuine, which made our stay even more meaningful. We also recommend walking around the nearby market. There’s a cozy coffee place just around the corner (possibly the only one in the area), and they serve excellent Turkish coffee and traditional Nubian coffee—a perfect stop to relax and soak in the local atmosphere. This place is a gem. If you're looking for a truly local, affordable, and memorable stay, Wadi Hotel is it. We’ll definitely be coming back!

The location is enchanting, the food is amazing, smiling faces, and the sound of the Nile. I was so happy with this hotel. My wife and I are anthropologists and the location in the Nubian village really made our trip. Mahalo Kati Waidi aloha

United StatesGreat view. Delicious lunch. Comfortable rooms. Nice area to shop for items to take home. Awesome vibes overall. The only tough part is the transportation. You can take a boat or you can order inDrive, but the road into the area is not constructed well. Hopefully it can be fixed in the near future.

The hotel is located in a lovely little Nubian village which has a very authentic feel. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were uniquely decorated and very clean. We were given a traditional Nubian breakfast which was tasty (huge portions). The staff were the nicest and most kind hearted people you will ever meet. Always ready to help with anything we needed including calling a taxi, laundry and their general friendliness. I loved my stay at this hotel. The sunrise views overlooking The Nile are unmatched.

Saudi ArabiaI stayed with family here for a couple of days. This hotel is located on the shore of nile River. View from the hotel was wonderful, and we enjoyed a lot from the little balcony in our room. As this hotel is located in the nubian village, we got to know more details about them and absolutely they are very lovely people. Their languages (several languages of nubian people), attire, food, and daily life are very distinct from others. Owner of the hotel, Mr. Hameidhi was such a humble and modest person. No boasting or bragging about themselves, though they deserve well to do so 😀 Mr. Mohammed, who is a relative of Mr. Hameidhi has explained about the nubian culture well. Overall, it was a wonderful stay and had a tasty food. Obviously, it is a great option in Aswan.

United StatesStaff very nice , really nice looking area with shops. Restaurant at the location was also pretty good . Grey view for sunrise and sunset . Just take into account the location, it’s a little far from everything so you will either be laying 10$ for boat ride or 5-7$ to get to the city by car. Takes a little bit but if you don’t care then it’s not a problem .

United StatesIt was an unforgettable experience during our stay in the Nubian village at Kato Waidi’s Nubian Resort. There was only one hiccup, which was the radio silence five days before our arrival. I was told that they would arrange for pick-up from the airport and reached out twice to confirm, but there was no reply. Thankfully, we were able to find a taxi, but had to pay double the price the resort offered. One might experience A LOT of overcharging in Aswan (except for the food), so be prepared and do your research. It got so bad to the point where I felt like I had to pay to breathe. Almost everything is transactional. Nevertheless, Kato Waidi’s staff take care of their guests. They went out of their way to offer us free early check-in after our flights from MIA —> CAI —> ASW, answered all of our questions and gave travel recommendations. Everything is just as advertised--the room, the views. Breakfast along the Nile was exceptional. I’d definitely stay here again and would recommend this place to anyone looking to immerse themselves in the culture of the Nubas. The city offers a variety of restaurants with some of the best food I’ve ever had in my life, as well as a lot of touristy shops with aggressive hagglers. I was able to purchase some seasoning to take home and can’t wait to put them to use. The location of this resort is about a 15 mins Felucca ride to Elephantine island and the ride was so worth it! I can’t wait to come back for a second tour.
