Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Trinidad and TobagoWe paid for a tour but got a driver. He was pleasant but contributed nothing in terms of knowledge. We were taken off the expected tour route to a perfume store. It worked well for us but it was unexpected. There was a bit of mold on the shower curtain.
Ibrahim was very helpful and willing.

PolandNot fully up to european standarts, but good host was able to compensate it.
Great host. Youssef was able to organize everything we wanted and was always ready to give advice. Sakkara trip with bedouin driver was something that we will remember. Alexandria was nice too; Giza pyramids are just a 5 minutes walk from hotel.

United StatesStaff became very cold to me when I asked to leave my backpack at reception for a few hours after checkout. he said no so I asked can I pay a little. He said I would have to pay close to the amount of a whole night stay.(I took my backpack to another hotel and they charge me 1/6 of his price.)Then in the morning he text me telling me I need to check out exactly at 12, no later. (This whole time he had a very unfriendly attitude) Loud music at night coming from nearby(this was on a Tuesday night)
Air con is very strong and adjustable with remote Affordable

United StatesBathroom needs a deep cleaning. Not handicapped accessible. The description said handicapped facilities. From the street to the ground floor was 2 sets of a few stairs. Then it is on the second floor with no elevator. No big deal but the description falsely says handicapped and it wasn't. Description also says terrace, there is none. Cash only, foreign currency. All of these are minor, I honestly give it a 9/10 for a $9 USD a night hotel
Middle floor of a building with a view, but the trees in front of the window needs minor trimming. Location was excellent. 4 block walk to busy late night streets, Haram (spinney supermarket and Exception bakery) and King Faisal St (fast food). Also, filtered water in the kitchen. Overall a great value for the price range. THIS IS THE AREA YOU WANT TO BE IN AT THE PYRAMIDS! THE HOTELS NEAR THE SPHINX ARE IN A DEAD AREA. To be clear, there are 2 areas with cheap hotels near the pyramids; near Marriott Mena and near the sphinx.

EgyptBreakfast, breakfast, and breakfast, please. No catring for food or drinks. Gotta depend on yourself when you are hungry or thirsty. The noise of the DJ from the neighboring hotel can prevent you from sleeping as the banging shakes your pillow.
The super friendly staff, Mohab in particular. Very close to Street where you can find almost everything you need. Some shops are open 24-7. The hostel is very safe and secure. Wifi is available and seldom crashes or slows down.

EgyptNothing major, really!
The location is great and easily accessible from most available public transport, and very close to the Giza Pyramids and the Grand Egyptian Museum.. The staff was extremely helpful and supportive.. They managed things extremely smoothly and they were very friendly to me.. The room was very clean and they provided towels and soap, which is not a common finding for this price.. Excellent value for money... Everything went really well this time, far beyond my expectations!

AzerbaijanThe entrance to the hotel was dusty. As I walked through the dirt roads and entered the hotel, I hesitated, thinking I had come to the wrong place.
The staff was great. We felt at home. If I come to Cairo again, I will choose it again. They helped me with everything from A to Z, without any hesitation.

United KingdomProperty was not well signposted and, arriving at 10pm, I’m not sure Id have found it without the help of an extremely enthusiastic child who came running over to assist us! To get to the hotel area, you pass through the building that, to all appearances, is incomplete or extremely run down. Entering the reception area, however, it is clean and welcoming. The room was immediately off the reception and there seemed to be a great deal of noise into the evening (not sure if staff or other guests). Room was tidy but not spotless. There was what appeared to be a day room, which I believe has the view of the pyramids from it, but this seemed to have someone staying in it so we never got to really use it.
Extremely close to the pyramids and incredible value for money. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Near to a great garage that serves food, snacks and good coffee!
