Ali was a good host and the food was excellent. I loved the food. My apparent worked well.

The lodge is out of the town as most are. Cleaner air and quieter. But you need to work out how to be mobile so you can access other areas of the town. There are versions of taxis that would work well but you need to understand how to use them so you have your freedom.

Grand Siwa is a fantastic place to visit for pure relaxation or amazing experiences. My better half and I visited Ali, who is the host of the lodges at Grand Siwa. Ali is a wonderful person who genuinely puts in the effort to make guests' visits as fantastic as possible. He is calm, down-to-earth, and extremely good at planning various activities and experiences that Siwa has to offer. When we arrived, we had a rough idea of the different places we wanted to visit. We told Ali about it, and he helped us with a program and transportation, so we could enjoy a smooth and memorable trip. Grand Siwa itself looks just like the pictures suggest — but standing there in person, it is even more idyllic. You are quickly overcome by a relaxing atmosphere and a true sense of peace. (We especially fell in love with the Lemongrass tea and the few Arabic words we learned from Ali.) It is highly recommended, especially for couples!

Ali is a lovely host, attentive but in no way overbearing. The ambience is good and the place is quiet, peaceful and safe. It's a cheap tuk-tuk ride out of town. We would happily stay again.

Must stay in Siwa! Beautiful and serene guest house located outside the busy and noisy city centre. Ali is a wonderful and kind host, and he helped us plan everything. Also, best food we had in Siwa!! I highly recommend staying with Ali. He made everything easy, and we benefited greatly from his local knowledge.

Amazing experience! Was a very relaxing stay, with an amazing and friendly host. Mr Ali went above and beyond to make sure we felt welcome and comfortable. He truly made us feel like we were staying at his home, and having travelled to many different countries across the world, we have never experienced this level of hospitality. Breakfast and dinner were delicious homestyle meals. They accommodated our different dietary restrictions. Come to Siwa completely unprepared, and Mr. Ali will still make sure that you have an amazing time. Our down time at the lodge, was sitting and chatting with Mr Ali over Siwan tea made with so much love and hospitality. He even took us for a mountain hike at 5:30am to watch sunrise from the serenity of the mountain top. Mr. Moussa took us on the desert safari, he was an amazing guide as well. Would completely recommend this hotel and Mr. Ali to anyone looking to visit Siwa.

The lodge is beautifully located on a hill outside the town, offering stunning views of Siwa. It’s just a 10-15 minute walk to Cleopatra Hot Springs and Plato, making it perfect for enjoying sunsets and sunrises over the lakes, desert, and the city. The management, with Canadian ties, was incredibly helpful, blending Western-style service with local expertise. They assisted with arranging taxis and tours, which was invaluable for navigating Siwa’s vendor culture. Every evening, there is a central fire in the complex, where guests can enjoy free tea, listen to Egyptian music, and connect with travelers from around the world. The tea, prepared by one of the staff, was exceptional. The staff overall were excellent—young, cheerful, and always smiling. They provided great service, and the breakfast and dinner they prepared were delicious. The rooms were equipped with heating systems, keeping us warm during the colder winter nights.

While the location was scenic, it is not centrally located, requiring taxis to get around. Apps like Uber don’t work in Siwa, and arranging transportation depended heavily on the hotel manager. Without a local SIM card, it was challenging to navigate or communicate with taxi drivers, as some vendors initially quoted a price but later increased it or didn’t know the exact location of the lodge. The rooms didn’t have proper hot water, only summer water, which was manageable but not ideal, especially in the winter.

The owner is a great person, he helped us with all of our needs. The place itself is clean, simple and looks like in the pictures.

There were too many mosquitoes during the night. The owner helped us with an anti-mosquito device.

Ali and Nader were the kindest hosts we have had had in Egypt after a month of travel. We can’t recommend Grand Siwa enough, honestly. It was clean, comfortable, but more than anything, they treated us like family. If you’re looking for the essence of Siwa, come find it at this place. Oh, and the breakfast was delightful!!

Siwa, itself, is a magical place, and a place of intense and serene healing energy. I loved the salt lake and the mountain of the dead, the hot springs, Shali, and most of all my host, Ali made wonderful food and was always ready to be of loving service to his guests. His warmth, his heart, and his smile made me feel safe and trusting. We communicated well by IPhone google translator. He is a thoughtful and heartfelt communicator. He is a loving presence, a healing presence, and embodies the energy of Siwa. I wish I could have stayed longer. I think the healing results would have been cumulative, intensive, and long lasting. I felt the energy of the oasis: salt and the rock, flowed strongly through my body, and the first night I felt purified, and all my worry and stress left. My mind and heart became still, and strong. I would recommend staying at least 3 full days, and if you would like to more fully get the health and energetic benefits, 2 weeks would be terrific. Next time I come I will stay 2 weeks.

Although the fan was adequate, I wish I had an air conditioner. But I am American, so… we love air conditioning! I know Ali will be providing a more clear and comprehensive orientation for future guests. I was a little overwhelmed when I first got there, and would have liked more information about food, costs, amenities. There was more available to me than I knew about and I would have liked to take advantage of it. Like resting in one of the “salt rooms,” getting a massage, and getting to know about the food in a little more detail. His wife is a great cook!

Nader is a very genuine, happy and chill boy who prepared the breakfast with lots of effort. Mousa is very nice and patient driver. They all made our trip in Siwa a special experience. Wonderful place. My room was very clean, comfortable, and nice. Excellent value. Nadir and Ali are very helpful and they organized all excursions for me and other guests.

The breakfast was exactly the same five days in a row. Would be nice to add fresh juice, fruits and vegetables.

Everything. When arriving to Siwa I came from Cairo and I had a very bad intestine infection. Siwa and specifically Grand Siwa were my Paradise healing-place. The salt room was so cozy and i never slept better. Ali and Yaser they were se attentive to make sure I had in every moment everything I needed. I felt home. I could do early check in and late checkout. Musa, the driver, took me everywhere and I felt safe and enjoy a lot. The food was delicious. When everything is made with LOVE you can feel It, and thats priceless. I Will come back for sure!!!!!!!

Grand Siwa was fantastic! It’s in a quiet part of Siwa. The rooms and the courtyard are homely and made to a good standard. We had a great time chatting and playing cards by the fire with Mr Ali. The breakfast (including delicious fuul)was great too! It would be even better if there were bikes available to rent. I Would definitely recommend this place!
