Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NigeriaThe staff were very hospitable and always at our beck and call. They were constantly checking on us to make sure we lacked nothing. The room was always cleaned everytime we stepped out. I would say it was an excellent experience overall and I would recommend it to my friends.

We had a wonderful stay at the Four Seasons Hotel Cairo. Everything was excellent — the cleanliness, the comfort of the room, and the overall atmosphere. A special thank you to dear Assala, who made our stay even more comfortable and memorable with her exceptional hospitality. Highly recommended

United KingdomThe door to our toilet mysteriously locked itself from the inside one evening. Thankfully I picked the lock and didn’t require the staff to intervene, but this could’ve been stressful had my four year old locked himself inside.
Despite Giza zoo being closed, my son was so excited to wake up each morning and see the hippos from our balcony. So although there doesn’t seem to be much else around the hotel, the room’s view and the hotel’s location right on the Nile are great. The hotel staff were welcoming and always friendly. They remember faces well which adds a personal touch. The hotel is beautiful and the rooms well thought out and spacious. We had 2 queen beds and an extra single for my son, and there was still plenty of space.

KuwaitThe location is perfect, the hotel staff is super friendly and attentive! The rooms are big and very clean. I checked out of the hotel and forgot a significant amount of money in the safety deposit box. I contacted the property and they were able to locate the money, the staff is honest and I really appreciate them being able to help with the situation. Honestly any other hotel would’ve taken the money, but The Four Seasons showed me honestly and loyalty to their clients. THANK YOU!

SwitzerlandWe enjoyed our stay at the First Residence. The rooms are large, beautifully appointed, with great storage space, big bathrooms, and separate toilet and shower. Also very practical - the blackout curtains and wonderful beds. The only minus would be the non- frontal view over the Nile, largely blocked by the Residential building, much taller and 90% empty. Too bad. Still, the lateral views are wonderful. Absolutely loved their restaurants on the First Nile Boat, particularly the Zoë. It has inside and outside seating, the latter with heaters and warm blankets against the night wind. The service and dishes were perfect, would absolutely recommend. The Xodo restaurant was also really good. If ordering drinks by the pool, here's some advice: - don't bother with alcoholic (long) ones - alcohol is basically missing altogether, so you can order the juice just as well for half the price - check the gin selection; they'd charge you separately for imported gin, even if enjoyed as part of the cocktail. Otherwise (eg gin fizz), the gin would be local, and you wouldn't taste it at all. Service at the pool is very good and attentive, the water beautiful, allowing for a fresh coolness after a hot day's tour. The location is very recommendable for tours on the left side of the river, and it's easily accessible from the main traffic arteries. Big plus - very attentive staff that upgrades the stay to a five-star hotel.

United StatesWhile the hotel is well-located along the Nile, it’s not particularly close to other dining or shopping options beyond what’s in the connected mall. The style of the rooms could use a refresh, as it does feel somewhat outdated.
The hotel has a prime location along the Nile, directly across from the zoo, offering scenic views and a pleasant atmosphere. It’s connected to a mall with a few bars and cafes, which is convenient for a quick bite or drink. The rooms are exceptionally spacious, and while the décor feels a bit dated, everything was comfortable and well-maintained. Service throughout the stay was prompt and professional. The laundry service was especially impressive, with reliable overnight options available. Breakfast was a standout—delicious and plentiful, with a wide variety of options to choose from.

PortugalOur stay at the Four Seasons Cairo at First Residence was truly exceptional. The hotel is beautifully appointed and perfectly located, offering an elegant and serene atmosphere in the heart of Cairo. One of the standout features is the array of facilities available — from a high-end mall within the property to a luxurious spa, casino, and several excellent restaurants, everything is designed to provide a premium experience. The staff was outstanding — always courteous, professional, and ready to assist with any request. Their attention to detail made us feel genuinely welcomed. Breakfast was delicious, with a generous variety of high-quality options. It’s important to note that it is not included in the room rate, and unfortunately, no one at check-in mentioned the possibility of adding it for an extra fee, which led to a small misunderstanding. The rooms were impeccably maintained throughout our stay, with housekeeping regularly ensuring everything was spotless. We also appreciated the complimentary late check-out, which was a thoughtful touch. The only minor shortcoming was the lack of refill for the soap and hand/body wash, which was a bit surprising given the overall level of service. All in all, we had a fantastic stay and would highly recommend the Four Seasons Cairo at First Residence to anyone seeking luxury, comfort, and top-tier hospitality.
