How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewI highly recommend this hotel! The staff's hospitality was outstanding. I arrived very late (around 4 AM), and they graciously waited for me to check in, which was incredibly helpful after a long journey. They offered fantastic support despite the late hour. Moreover, when I had to leave early, they went above and beyond by preparing breakfast for me ahead of time. I was deeply impressed and grateful for their kindness and excellent service throughout my short stay

Verified reviewI spent time with the Nubian family running the guesthouse. Mr Adan was very nice with me, he offered me to join him while he was eating traditional nubian food many times. All the family helped me settle in Aswan. Ahmed, an employee of the guesthouse was my guide the whole time. With him I got to see the real Aswan and experience the nubian way of life, and he teached me some words in Nubian language. They helped me arrange all my plans, from itinerary, to transportation, prices, budget and so on. Thanks to Ahmed, Mr Adan, Ruru and Fatuma. I will be back for sure! 🥰🥰🥰🥰

Verified reviewTraditional Nubian guesthouse. Lovely view and traditional breakfast. Staff welcoming. Nice colors.
No sheets in the bed. Toilet paper only upon request. If arriving too late, no possibility to have diner. I think that you have to book it in advance. Very loud as in the early morning prayers in front of the house.

Verified reviewI did not enjoy any aspect of this stay
When we arrived it was a ghost town despite letting them know prior our time of arrival. After maybe 20 minutes of sta ding around shocked looking in doors etc some people turns up and showed us to a room. There were no towels or anything provided. The room was very noisy, through the night I could hear my neighbour snoring and from very early there was motorbikes racing around and around blaring shouting from speakers, it sounded like some kind of advertisement, not the call to prayer. After wishing I had brought earplugs I went to the dining room for breakfast by myself as my son didn't trust the food. I was told that the breakfast can only be made for the 2 people on the booking not just one, so I left with an empty stomach. We quickly arranged a taxi and left. Worst stay in Egypt by a long shot, I cannot believe this place has ANY positive reviews.

Verified reviewThe colours of the hotel is wonderful. Welcoming family. Neat and tidy washrooms. Good Food. Inside Nubian Village and close to the market and Ferry. Great Location if you are planning to Explore Aswan by Boat. They may have Nubian songs and dance some days.
As inside Nubian Village it was difficult to get a taxi back from Aswan City. Also if you arrange Abu Simbel trip with any other hotel or company after staying here, you may need to arrange a Tuk-Tuk at 4am in the morning to take you to Aswan Dam.

Verified reviewVery nice atmosphere. I was lucky that on my first night there was a great trio playing Nubian music
I was the first guest in one of the new rooms. They are great, only the wifi signal of the hotel was very weak there. They will need to install an extender to reinforce the signal.

I probably didn't like the bathroom. Otherwise everything was great.

Verified reviewThe guesthouse is authentic, beautiful, newly painted with vibrant colours, and we had a really charming and clean room with aircondition and hairdryer. Adan was a nice host, and the food was good (we had breakfast and dinner). We enjoyed our stay.
The location is on top of the hill from the village market, and the taxis and busses don't really go up here. You can get a tuk-tuk though. No wifi in the room, only in common area. Conversations were difficult as they dont speak English very well. The host sat with us while we ate which was a little awkward because of the English issue. A lot of mosquitos in our room. Some areas such as rooftop are under renovation.

Verified reviewWe were welcomed with a big smile by Ahmed and even though there was a little language barrier, everything went smoothly. Having a translator set on your phone goes a long way. The place is beautiful and the room was so comfortable and clean! We also had lunch at the property and it was the best meal we had in Egypt. They also gave us a packed meal to take to Abul Simbel on the next day. As 2 female travelers we felt very safe and respected. It's a bit tricky to get to the hotel, but it was very very worth it. We were very happy with our stay! 10/10!
Nothing to report! Everything was great.
