Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

EgyptWe had an absolutely wonderful experience at Blend Elphistone Hotel in Marsa Alam! From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations. The food was truly amazing—special thanks to Chef Mohamed Abdelfatah and Nabawy Hagag for their delicious creations that made every meal a highlight of our stay. A big thank you as well to Mohamed Ali, the welcoming face in the restaurant who made us feel right at home every day. One of the most unforgettable moments was seeing dolphins at the marina—such a magical experience! Room service was perfect, and every detail during our stay was well taken care of. We truly had a fantastic time and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Marsa Alam.

RomaniaAnimation staff very pushy and insistent , same with tour guides that pressure you all the time to book something with them. If you're too friendly in the beginning you never get rid of them. There is a possibility to avoid them by picking up a red flag from the towel pick up place, but the hotel did not inform us of this. In my opinion, It´s a 4 star hotel based on Egyptian standards, not a 4 star European standard. Still , value for money is great!
Great beach, great food, also lots of variety for vegetarians. Waiting staff at the restaurant and pool bar excellent (especially Mohamed Saber).

IrelandMy reviews are based on price vs services. Simply delightful as nice facilities, we were offered an upgrade with a lovely beach view as room service came daily and always bottled water available in the room. The buffet is very good only minus is breakfast being a little repetitive but both lunch and dinner always had different things every day. Something no one explains is that there's the drinks that are included in the all inclusive that includes some of the most common cocktails but there's also premium ones that have a cost, not a lot but if you want something branded or premium there's an extra for that. The beach is the Star of the resort we'll kept only a little coral and rocks, in general I don't think you need water shoes but if you like to explore yeah use them. Night activities are good and the animation team tries their best, fire show I recomend. For the price we payed for a week it's one bang for the buck for sure.

United KingdomThe water used to water the plants and lawn smelt very bad. The beach bar was not great. Only the Pina colada was drinkable. Sometimes you would queue for 15 mins and still not get served then give up. The bartender had clear favorites who he brought drinks to. None of the hotel staff here aside from one person at reception speak great English. I believe they speak Italian and German though, but not English. Some of the staff hassled us and made us feel uncomfortable as female travelers. But this was only 2 people.
I thought our stay was exceptional. The majority of the staff were absolutely amazing, including Mohamed Ali at the restaurant who took our drink orders and brought them to us quickly. He also helped us with finding somewhere to sit every day. The bartenders at the reception bar and pool bar were very good, making good cocktails. Pool bar especially, you should definitely try the special. The coral reef is completely out of this world. We swam with a 1.5m diameter turtle twice at the reef. We also swam with a pod of dolphins twice. There are many other fish types at the reef too and it is not crowded by people. The reef is very colourful and better than anything I have ever seen in Egypt or abroad. The food was exceptional, especially the barbeque area. The beach lifeguard was very good constantly watching the sea to identify wildlife such as dolphins and to make sure tourists are swimming safely. Hotel shampoo, conditioner and body lotion was very good and worked well. The spa is pretty cheap and very good for massages, it charges 120 dollars for 3 massages and a hammam. Some very good shops selling sun cream and souvenirs. The one outside run by idris sells very nice handmade goods.

GermanyActually, we ordered a double bed but got two single-beds. It was easy to move them together, but it is a little bit lagging in comfort. And the mattresses were too soft. And maybe... The "fitness room" (gym) lags pretty much in performance: Certain devices are not working (e. g. treadmill), the weight bench is very rattly, and there are a lot of weight fixations missing or not fitting properly. A workout is possible, but it isn't too/that nice there The beach volleyball area is lagging a little behind because the thickness of the sand layer is often too thin. A couple of player hurt their knees or toes when they are spectacular saving balls 🙃 there are rocks underneath. For sure, I didn't like the extra prices by most of the vendors within the hotel area. Initially, you are supposed to always pay 10 or more bucks for regular goods, services, and stuff. This is a hustle because you won't find change rates of 1:50 there (euro) and they get those articles way cheaper in town, which is not easy to access to for you (distance). So in this area you need to expect European prices! Spa services fastly reach 60+ EUR. (But sure, this is not a special issue of this hotel, but tourism✌️)
The hotel and the facilities are very good. The staff is exceptional kind and will always help you. They feel trustworthy and make beautiful towels origami ❤️ Actually, the hotel fulfills the description at booking. They had a nice animation team within our 7-days-staying, who was ambitious. They did a great job. The rooms are fine. Bathroom very clear, well lightet, big mirror, hair dryer, fastly warm water flow, enough towels, everything felt good here. The pool area is way relaxing, and pool water feels nice (different temperatures and chlorine state). You can do much sports over there in a very easy manner. We played soccer, beach volleyball, and had workouts every day. It's very nice to burn calories there and you have to... because all you can eat meals/buffets are so damn delicious and luxurious. The catering staff is very helpful, omnipresent, and sometimes entertaining (you will see 😊) ALL IN ALL, we can fully recommend this property and a nice stay. Tip for your leaving: Book the airport transfer right in the basement area in the hotel lobby. The guy is nice and makes good prices, different from booking from abroad before arrival at the beginning of you staying

FranceMy only suggestion would be to make the billiard table by the pool free of charge, as it cost €4 per hour.
The hotel was very accommodating to our needs. I requested a room change due to a smaller balcony, and they kindly agreed to switch us for the rest of our stay. The main restaurant is excellent, offering a wide variety of both local and Western dishes. I highly recommend trying the oriental restaurant one evening—it was absolutely delicious. We had a fantastic time with the animation team, spending hours playing beach volleyball. Special shoutout to Hamza!

GermanyThis large resort is 30 minutes from Marsa Alam airport. It served the best food I’ve ever had in Egypt during many years of travel there. One evening there was a superb filet mignon. The restaurant service team is really attentive and polite. The gardens are also really beautiful and continuously tended to. The resort has four pools, one is a quiet adult-only pool and another is heated which was nice now in the colder off season. The resort is not sheltered by wind as much, so very windy conditions result in a red flag requiring guests to stay inside the reef which still lets you swim in the ocean in the shallow. There was some animation by the pool and beach area, however finishing at a 11pmish at the latest.

EgyptManagement needs to consider refurbishing the hotel and also to upgrade their internet. They should also put note that fresh fruit juice has payment for it not to be misleading as guests automatically thinks that it is included in the all inclusive. Bell boy was saying that there’s no elevator when there is.
Cordial staff especially the room cleaner Yasser and also Abo Alhaggag Mansour, waiter at the restaurant. We got free room upgrade & they sent us a plate of fruits, drinks & welcoming note. They are all attentive to our needs that they resolve immediately whatever concerns guests have. Variety of food especially during dinner. We are lucky to have experienced their fruit day & also their fire dance show. Highly appreciated the gardeners for maintaining their plants & flowers that the garden compensates the appearance of the hotel for which it needs refurbishment especially the reception area. They also have long bridge & at the end of it, guest can snorkel. However, during winter it would be hard to swim as the wave & wind are strong. There are 4 pools & 1 pool is heated during winter.

IrelandThe hotel has seen better days, and probably needs an upgrade and refurbishment, the furniture a little dated and had some trouble with the evening entertainment noise, but at least it stopped around 11 pm.
The main thing I liked about the hotel was the 3 meals where the variety was amazing the quality pretty good and the service staff were always friendly and smiling and the hotel manager was always there to keep and eye on things. The pools were great and so was the beach and pier. Our waiter Abdelfattah was really nice and kept our same table every day, also offered puzzles for us to solve after we ate.

Czech RepublicI have to complain just about guest's behavior. It is such a shame, how some guest behave with no respect to the locals and other guests - ordering drinks and food in their mother tongue, not even try to speak at least english or OMG in arrabic to the staff. "Ladies" wearing tanga swim suit with negligee in the restautant and their husbands do not say anything - keep in mind that locals are muslims and you are the visitors, so have some respect people!!!!!, and wear the proper dress code as said, and to have respect to other guests as well) . Was not really nice to look at the fatty butts while eating. And I mean fatty as it is.
Was a nice stay in DLX room with a sea view. Daily cleaned, food was delicious, drinks as well. Staff were amazing, helpful and kind. There is a pier to go for open ocean. Very usefull for (lets say advanced) snorchelers. You may join the program there to not get bored. Big thank you to the staff and all the respect to them! When we will need again rest after diving, we will happily come back here, without a doubt 🙂 Petra & Daniel

GermanyMore of the staff could have spoken better English or even Italian. It was sometimes a bit hard to communicate with the people at the spa - who also seemed to have trouble doing math at times. Make sure to double check the prices at the spa and confirm things more than once. Other than that the rooms do indeed have older installations but we did not care about this too much since the price and location was so great.
This resort really exceeded our expectations and provided us with everything we needed after 15 days of touring the country - note: so many of the things said in the "bad reviews" that I read before booking are simply not true. We wanted comfort, relaxation, a clean beach, snorkelling, suntanning, and more than one restaurant during our 5-nights stay - and that is what you get. For the price of two dorm beds in Europe (70 euros) we had a gorgeous sea view (upgrade, babayyy), big beds, and a spacious bathroom in a private room. We had plenty of water given to us, lots of access to alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages (aka ;) mixers) all day long and found the variety of restaurants (plus snacks) combined with the international buffet to be good enough - and even very good sometimes. The service staff working in the restaurant speaks several different languages and they were all very friendly and accommodating to us - we even met the head chef several times who was also happy to explain the menu and share a laugh with my Italian friend. Laying out by the pools and going to the spa for massages (twice in fact, cause it is very affordable!) felt very luxurious for us - there is also water and juices served by all the pools. The sea was clean, and the snorkelling we did was fine, but I would recommend going on a a tour to a coral reef during a day trip - we also recommend the quad desert tour - it was awesome! The guy who coordinates the social events and dances with FIRE is super cool - very nice person and super talented too! Don't miss his show! Finally when we checked out on our last day they let us stay in our room til 3 pm which was very kind of them and allowed us to use the pool for a few last hours before returning to cold, grey Germany. I would totally stay at this place again for a week or so, as it was very chill and a great deal. (Pro-tip: bring your own bottle of gin/vodka ;)
