How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewComfortable and clean near the Pyramids. Very friendly breakfast team and excellent cleaning ladies.
There was no hand shower in the bathroom but only a rain shower so it was very difficult to wash thoroughly. We were obliged to wash the body with the head together. There were no hangers in the wardrobe. The area around the hotel was full of garbage, sometimes we were closing our noses in order to go to the shops around the hotel. There is no any municipal road cleaning team? It is a pity the living area around the Pyramids to be so dirty. The swimming pool was open until 19H00 although sometimes we needed to swim later after a long day of sightseeing.

Be aware it is close to the pyramids, as a tourist area, street callers will be many when you are walking in the area. This is not an issue, but if your not used to it, it may be startling.

Our stay at Dyafa Hotel and Spa was extremely disappointing and felt more like a scam than hospitality. As soon as we arrived, they charged us $50 without any clear explanation. On top of that, although our booking said breakfast was included, they still charged us extra for it. They also tried to sell us a pyramid tour for $240, claiming it was a good deal. In reality, if you go on your own, the entire experience—including camels and horses—costs less than $20 for four people. It felt like a clear attempt to take advantage of tourists. Before arrival, they messaged us on WhatsApp offering an airport pickup for $30, but we later found out you can easily get a taxi outside the airport for around 300 EGP (less than $10) to the city center. The room itself was in poor condition. The windows didn't block out any noise—you could hear honking and traffic all night. It was hard to get a good night's sleep. To top it off, the staff’s treatment varied based on how much money they thought you were spending. We witnessed a group of guests who booked a room just $10 more expensive, and the owner told the staff to treat them better—offering juices and water right away, which we were never given. Overall, the hotel felt dishonest, noisy, and unprofessional. There are far better options in Cairo that won’t try to overcharge or deceive you.

Verified reviewThe Dyafa is right near the Sphinx pyramids entrance, so it’s perfectly located. The hotel is spic n span and the staff eager to assist. The hotel pool is inviting and cool on hot summer days, and having breakfast or a drink on the roof terrace is inspiring with the pyramids looming close by.

Verified reviewJust the location, view of pyramides nothing else
Cleaning didnt exist, stains in the floor, hair from precious guests before. Dust and spiders net everywhere. Just awfull. Arrived and no towels in the bedrooms. Safety nothing, eletric wires showing everywhere, I have a exploring todler and needed constant surveillance. Service in restaurant awfull - I order and paid for food in advance, same day at 17:30 for dinner at 19h. When me and family arrive at the restaurant at 19h nothing was set, not tables, no towels in table etc took them 15 min to come and ask what we would like to drink. Food only 40min afther, just very bad service, we order 2 round of drinks and they never arrived. The morning afther was worse, breakfast was a mess. I had visits booked and guide to pick us up, we came down to have breakfast close to the reception 1h in advance, and when we asked to be seated they send us to the rooftop, there was empty tables we could use, and other guests - afther 15min of waiting in the rooftop no one came to give us something. I came to reception again to see other guests that wasnt there before seated and having breakfast, where we asked to be seated before and they didnt let us. They told they will send someone. Afther more 15min of waiting, nothing- I lost my patience because my 3 year old wanted food. Come to reception again and afther 5min they started service, didnt clean the tables before. Just put a plate of ham and cheese. Yogurt and water. More 10min no coffee, no tea, no bread, no biscuits nothingggggg... And then my guide arrived and I didnt have breakfast. Just bad bad bad... Thin windows, was bad, all nigth noise from the streets and car wash next to hotel. Bad pillows, all very unconfortable.

Verified reviewThe location, the staff, the view, the beds. Great service from all the receptionists, Andre and Habiba (not sure how to write it), and all the waitress during breakfast or in the pool, very nice people. Great hotel.
The cleaning staff is the only people not doing good their job, all the rest, super gentile and hard workers, we really liked it.

Verified reviewWe had a nice stay, the room was very big, the staff were very pleasant and friendly, the views of the pyramids and sphinx from our room and from the roof terrace were exceptional
The area where the hotel is located is Absolutely horrible. There are a couple of fast food restaurants nearby which we used and took food back to the hotel, and we ate on the roof terrace. But we didn't feel comfortable to walk around and explore the area. We were told it was safe and is a tourist area, but it is absolutely squalid. We based at the hotel and used ubers or had trips where we were collected from our accommodation. Also, we weren't aware that we had to ask for housekeeping services . When I asked the hotel why our room hadn't been cleaned I was told that it was a free service, but we had to request it. So we did, and our room was cleaned for us the following day. We expected daily housekeeping to be standard service for a 4 star hotel, so make sure you tell reception when you'd like your room cleaned. Had we seen photos of the surrounding area, I'm not sure we would have chosen to stay in giza, but the hotel itself is welcoming, nicely air-conditioned, and the staff are helpful and pleasant

Verified reviewThe staff is exceptionally friendly as they really do their best to make the stay enjoyable and show a willingness to help with all your needs. The pool is very nice. The view from the rooftop terrace is amazing.
The breakfast was served with a smile but the taste was not for us. We couldn't eat most of it (except for the egg and coffee). We also ate a pizza for dinner, but it had no flavour.

Verified reviewGreat hotel, new, minutes from the pyramides. Great terrace with perfect pyramide view. Perfect hospitality, compliments to the owner. Cleaning crew should work with more effort 😉😉
Again cleaning crew forgetting to provide clean towels and toilet paper. Shower gel bottles empty. Cleaning crew again not interested in their jobs.
