Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomHot water pressure was very very low, staff was informed, but in the end there was not much improvement. Luckily it is hot in summer days so is fine.
Very good location near Talaat Harb roundabout, very very nice and friendly staff. Facilities are a bit outdated, but is is totally fine. Decent breakfast. There is even a kitchen you can use. Very clean and comfy for me, and barely hear noise from outside. Decent room size.

FranceThe AC in our room was a little old and difficult to set up, but it worked, which in the end is all that counts.
Perfect location in downtown Cairo. The hostel is in the 6th floor of a building so not noisy as the street below. Lots of restaurants and cafes in the area. The staff is super helpful and accommodating (we arrived at 8am and they quickly prepared a room for us, even though check-in is not until noon + gave us strong yummy coffee), plus had tons of useful recommendations for local eateries in the area. No pressure to book any tours, cars or restaurants throughout them, which was refreshing. The room was spacious with a big window and lots of natural light. Shower pressure was excellent. Breakfast was good. There are many negative comments about the elevator, but we have many such old elevators in Paris; they're old but functional and great for cute elevator mirror pics :) The building, as many in downtown Cairo is a true Art Deco gem.

SpainElevator!
Very good choice to be in downtown Cairo. The rooms were comfortable, although the bathroom was not so (tiny shower). Clead bedsheets. Not very noisy considering where it is. Finding it was a bit tricky and the elevator a bit scary, but worth it.

JordanHonestly, I can’t think of anything that really bothered me. Everything went smoothly and I had a great stay
I really loved the location on Talaat Harb Street — right in the heart of Cairo! The room was one of the cleanest and nicest I’ve seen in Downtown. Harb gave me such a warm welcome, and Omar was extremely professional and helpful during my whole stay. Their service made the experience unforgettable.

ColombiaI booked Nour Hostel for just one night, as I only needed a place to shower and wait for my evening flight, so I stayed just a few hours. The hostel is located in downtown Cairo, very close to the Egyptian Museum. The room was large and comfortable, and both the air conditioning and the shower heater worked perfectly. Despite being in a busy area, there wasn’t much street noise. For the price, I think it’s a very good option.

SlovakiaThis hostel, located on the sixth floor, offers a peaceful escape from the lively street below. The location is excellent, with easy access to the metro, bus station, and the historic Islamic Cairo. The neighborhood is a foodie paradise with fantastic street food options. While not a luxury stay, the price is reasonable and the hostel provides a clean and comfortable base for exploring the city. Enjoyed the included breakfast.

BelarusLocation is very good. Authentic building. All you need in Cairo is nearby — street food, street markets, Nile, metro station. It's loud, crowd, old and chaotic neighbourhood, but this is heart of the Cairo and Egypt. Clean and comfort rooms. Good travelers vibe. Staff are very helpful.

GermanyThere was not many things to dislike. What one thing could be improved is to have a shower curtain so only part of the floor is wet after a shower not the whole floor. Also, tissue box would be helpful too.
Ahmed the caretaker of the property was kind and humble in his dealings with me throughout. He would really adapt to my needs whether it is an early breakfast or laundry of clothes even on late requests from my side. Housekeeping was on point too. I really was relaxed and felt home.

SloveniaWe really liked the location, it is close to the egiptian museum and also close to the famous bazar Khan el Khalili, the metro station is also a few minutes away if you need it. You have everything on the street you wish for - restaurants, shops, markets, it is a very interesting street where you can feel a bit of their coulture. The staff of the hostel is really kind and helpful, they helped us with the trip to the Giza pyramids. The breakfast was delicious and the room was really clean. We really liked everything, we wish we could stay longer.
