Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Beautiful location! Just a short boat ride from the Philae Temple. I would choose this hotel ten times over staying in Aswan. The fact that it’s on its own island — only accessible by boat — makes it feel wonderfully secluded. We loved the boat rides on the Nile, and the hotel provides free boat taxis, making it easy to get around. The decor is beautiful, and the staff are friendly and helpful. A unique and peaceful place to stay.

Australia10/10 would recommend!! Absolutely beautiful spot, will never forget the views on the little shuttles approaching the hotel. Felt like a movie. Staff were amazing. Had no problems with shuttles, tuktuks up the hill, service. The food was also incredible! And very reasonably priced. Would definitely recommend for staying in Aswan. It’s obviously relatively far away from the main city but once you’ve got the shuttle it’s only about a 15-20min taxi which is super quick. It’s right next to the Philae temple and that made it feel surreal. Would recommend to everyone!

IrelandExcellent hotel, all staff were very friendly. Beautiful location. Please note that it’s on a separate island and you must book through hotel to take a boat across but we found this an enjoyable trip. Overall, brilliant.

United KingdomNothing.
We loved that this property was away from the city of Aswan. It provided the tranquility and escape from the hustle and bustle of the city as we ended our time in Egypt. The accommodation was lovely, well designed and appointed and the staff afforded excellent care and attention, they too were exceptional. The views were gorgeous, including across to the Philae Temple. Food and drink was very reasonable and of good quality and variety.

CanadaOur stay was too short!
A magical place!! The views are spectacular (Nile and Philae Temple), the terrace with jet pool and incredible reprieve from the heat, the staff best of the best, we could not have asked for more. Loved so much we stayed 3 extra days! The spa is fantastic and overall the place just so relaxing and calm. One of the best parts is the adopted rescue pup ‘Hummous’ 🙂 What a sweetheart! Love, love, love this place.

United KingdomWe did have a long wait for lunch on our first day, but otherwise the stay was wonderful.
We were upgraded to a huge room which had a lovely view over the lake. We loved the experience of boating out to the hotel and the food was also excellent! The staff were super helpful and positive! We received a special dietary-appropriate engagement gift of fruit.

AustraliaThe jacuzzi was freezing cold so didn’t really get to use it during our stay, which is a shame as the view from it was very special.
Luxurious retreat feel being away from the main Aswan town and needing a boat to get there. Rooms and restaurant were good and the nightly Nubian performances were entertaining and interactive. Great for some relaxation away from the bustling town.

BelgiumBoat: the connection by boat is not very effective. We had to wait at the dock on average 20/30 minutes each time. Moreover all other connections (apart from the dock), including the temple, are not free of charge and prices are much higher than other service provides; Restaurant: no much choice; Power cuts each evening and no water to wash hands at the restaurant

United StatesThere are Nubian communities on the island, but you are restricted to the hotel property. If you want to go to tourist attractions in Aswan other than Philae, the hotel refers you to expensive tours. No help with do-it-yourself. No help at their boat dock to simply find a taxi.
Beautiful place. Wonderful breakfast. Having a hot tub on the deck that actually got to 39 degrees was wonderful. Very easy to visit the Philae Temple from there--the hotel boat will take you for a very reasonable price.

The location is simply breathtaking. All around the hotel the views are spectacular. Our suite was spacious and clean, excellent bathroom. The check in process was super smooth. The way to the hotel from the boat dock is steep but they have a complimentary tuktuk which helps if you don't want to hike up. The staff is excellent, attentive and very polite. One of the staff, Taha, stood out for us, he makes an excellent mint lemonade. The breakfast buffet has an extensive choice. Dinner choices are varied and decent tasting. Each night a dinner they have local musicians perform lovely music. Bed are comfortable.
