How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Cleanliness of the rooms. The rooms and especially the bathrooms require a drastic re fitting. Cracks and loose, faulty pieces of bathroom fixtures in both rooms. Just needs a freshen up and it'll be worth of 4+ stars again.

The staff were scammers. Although I paid everything in advance, they kept insisting that I hadn't paid and demanded that I pay, even though it was clear to them on the system that I had paid in full. They did this on arrival and again on checkout. Every day the staff will find a reason to interact with me and demand money for some bizarre reason. They made our stay very uncomfortable. I would never go there again. Furthermore, the food was of poor variety and very expensive.

Verified reviewA nice old character building full of charm with large spacious rooms and close to the pyramids . Great sized bed and bathroom in the deluxe rooms. There was a good selection of restaurants and a cosy bar to relax in during the evening. . We took the half board option and the buffet had plenty of variety and was good value for money . The staff on the whole were friendly and helpful.
On check in we were given a bill to pay despite already having paid in full via booking.com. we refused and we're finally checked in after much debate. The rooms were spacious but had only received a basic clean and although the maid came each day she appeared to tidy more than clean anything. Venturing out of the hotel was doable but the area was run down and there are building works immediately in front which had a negative effect on traffic and taxis. Throughout our stay lots of outside noise from neighbouring buildings which went on until 4am most nights.

Verified reviewWe were awake until 3 am due to the night club they had on site. They kept telling us it will stop in 5 or 10 minutes from 11 pm but the music did not stop until 3 am. Another guest who was also awake due to the noise said he had a similar night the night prior! The staff simply lied to us about the event stopping and offered a different room still with the same noise level. Was ridiculous.

The rooms were awful, since I had to change rooms 3 times and my third room had it's door barely closing, had no warm water on it's shower and the ceiling was full of cracks. To and on top of that , the shower water sometimes came orange (with rust I think). Nothing that I would mind if I hadn't paid almost 400 USD for my stay. A total shame.
