How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThe room here is very big and clean, next to the Nile River. The whole B& B looks very beautiful. The landlord bisho who received us is very good and helps us keep our luggage. The house has a beautiful swimming pool and window view, and it is also very close to the urban area. You can travel by taxi and take about ten minutes to the central area. It is highly recommended that you stay here.~

Verified reviewGood for the price..
The neighborhood was terrible but that's not the hotel's fault. We had a hard time finding the hotel..There were no signs of the.hotel's name .We had to knock on several buildings doors until we found it. This is very dangerous.

Verified reviewI didn’t expect much from the property based on the cost. However, it provided the necessary essentials needed for our 6-hour stay.
During our stay, there was major construction happening right outside one of the suites we rented. There was literally a construction crew jackhammering through concrete until 4 o’clock in the morning. In speaking with the staff, the work was sanctioned by the government which they had no control over. That I understand. However, the property manager informed us that construction began 2 days ago. They should’ve contacted me to let me know, so me as the guest, could decide whether or not to continue with my reservation. Instead, I arrived 1 o’clock in the morning with no other alternative than to sit there with all the noise outside my window. We literally got no sleep during our short stay and were offered no concessions. Not even a bottle of cold water.

Verified reviewAll the staff and the manager were very friendly
The staff were really lovely and I wouldn't have left this place if it hadn't been for the noise at night due to a construction site that was under the control of the Egyptian government! The workers were working all night and the manager of this accommodation had no power to tell them to stop working at night! It was completely beyond his control and he refunded me for the 3 nights.

Verified reviewFrom the moment I arrived, Pisho and the whole team were very welcoming and helpful. The room was large, clean, secure and comfortable, especially the bed which was great quality. The view from my room was straight over the Nile, as advertised. Although a little south of the city centre, the short walk over the ridge to downtown was easy, even in the summer heat, and had some interesting views along the way.

Verified reviewNice rooms with a good view over the Nile. We even got a lift into town one day. The location is a little out of town, but download InDrive and its extremely cheap to organise rides into town and also home.

Verified reviewVery nice common spaces that give a very homey feeling (shared kitchen, refrigerators, couches). The rooftop offers a remarkable view on the Nile but can get very hot during the summer. The swimming pool looks very nice but is not exposed to the sun, so there is no sunbathing option. The staff is friendly and helpful, they helped us organize a transfer to the airport very early in the morning. The room was spacious and facing the Nile river.
The location is VERY distant from downtown and uphill, so guests are forced to rely on tuctucs or cars to go anywhere. This makes the time there more challenging because the logistics is always in the back of the mind. Also, the facility is on a not paved road surrounded by rubbish, wild dogs and darkness. We were recommended not to walk in the area at night but to take the taxi at all times.

Verified reviewNice and clean room with a Nile river view
AC lowest degree is 20 celsius degrees, it's not enough to cool the room. Also the bathroom was so hot it felt like a sauna. AC temperature needs to be lower

You can not walk outside, poor streets with no amenities. Everything you have to order by takeaway including the breakfast!! Booked a transport to pick us up from the hotel which never arrived!

Verified reviewVery spacious, comfortable. The Staff is really friendly and helpful. Good air conditioning and fans. They don’t serve meals, but offer delivery. Great view of the Nile.
Like most of Aswan, there is construction going on everywhere. So it is surrounded of rubble, sand, gravel and rocks. The house is on a dusty sand street and you will need a taxi to go anywhere.

Verified reviewWe really had a wonderful time in Aswan Nile Palace. The room was super clean and very spacious with a large double bed. The room is very quiet, has air conditioning and a wonderful clear view over the Nile, it’s just magical to wake up seeing the Nile and the desert. The hotel has a swimming pool opened 24/7 and has an amazing rooftop with the same clear view over the Nile and the desert. The sunsets are truly fabulous! Probably one of the best clear views you can have in Aswan. The hotel manager Mr Mina is very nice and can provide you with food and drinks. And we have to thank Bisho who works in the hotel. He’s the nicest person, very respectful, helpful and very interesting. He has a great English, and will help you to understand the life in Aswan and Egypt. Aswan is a great city from where you can visit Abu Simbel, Philae temple and discover the Nubian culture. A must do when visiting Egypt. Thank you again for your wonderful hospitality and we hope to come back soon!
