Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SpainIt was a bit noisy, but that said we stayed at a weekend and Cairo is a noisy city!
Perfect downtown location. Our room was nice, spacious and very clean. Complimentary water and plenty of good toiletries. A special mention for the reception staff who were really friendly and so helpful.

United StatesNoisy sounds in the bathroom window. Window has to be open to reduce noise. The pigeons outside also make noise during nights and morning.

TurkeyRoom a bit narrow. Some said noises at night but I found nothing or I am a bit heavy head in terms of sleeping.
Friendly staff. Clean room location is very nice close to alot of tourist attraction and sites to visit. Looking at the reviews I was a bit sceptical but now I say it's a very good experience.

AustraliaNo signage in the lobby directing you to Hotel reception on the sixth floor. The lift door looks like it should slide but you have to pull it towards you to enter the lift. A work in progress with the renovations so some walking around internal construction debris- but they don’t work after hours so it’s not noisy.
Perfectly situated - Tutankhamen is on the doorstep/ some off the nearby streets have pedestrian crossings /coffee shop on the next block/ taxis outside who were prepared to negotiate prices / easy and safe walk to glamorous downtown area / super friendly & helpful staff/ for the adventurous, other museums are a half hour walk / breakfast - a quirky mix of Western & local options - very tasty and filling. Did I mention the friendly staff ?

United KingdomThe entrance to the hotel seemed a bit shady and unless we had googled it beforehand, we wouldn't think that was the entrance. Initially, the neighbourhood felt a bit sketchy, but that feeling went away quickly after our first day of staying.
Really good location, close to restaurants around the Nile and coffee shops, and of course the Cairo Museum right at the hotel's door! Spacious and clean room with comfortable furniture. The highlight for us were the staff. Very useful and informative, they even went the extra mile to help us with a few issues we encountered unrelated to the hotel.

United StatesWiFi on the 10th floor was very slow and sometimes it was not available.
The location. The hotel is across the street from the Egyptian museum. It is easy to get to most of the tourist sites from the hotel. The lobby is on the 6th floor of the building and the rooms are on the 9th and 10th floor. The room is fairly large, clean and comfortable and has a refrigerator. The staff at the hotel are friendly and a couple of them speak English.

United StatesThe wifi. Oooo the terrible wifi. It was painfully slow when it worked at all. The bed linens were extremely pilly, and there was a strange smell in the shower. All in all it was not a bad experience, but the next time I visit Cairo I will definitely splurge on a higher-end hotel.
The best aspects of the hotel are the price and the location: it is within very short walking distance from Tahrir Square and the old Egyptian Museum. My room was large, the AC worked perfectly, there was always on-demand hot water, and there is a reliable ATM right in front of the hotel. I am a solo female traveler, and I felt entirely safe in and around the hotel at all times.

Saudi ArabiaThe room wasn't the cleanest, the bathroom was a bit grubby. We didn't get our room cleaned whilst we were there, although we did leave the sign requesting it to be cleaned.
Good location, only a few minutes walk from Downtown. Air con was good, and the noise outside wasn't too loud as we were just off the busier streets. For the cheap price we paid, I was happy with it.

IndiaMy room was on 10th floor but, the lift was operating only till 8th floor. I was informed that it's temporary as the second lift will be made operational till 10th floor. Restaurant is also under refurbishment and will be open shortly.
Excellent location close to Tahrir Square and Egyptian National Museum. Hotel is under refurbishment, hence there are minor inconveniences but, the rooms are quite decent for the money you pay. Room was neat and equipped with a TV, kettle, locker etc 2 complimentary water bottles were given every day. Toilet was neat and had essential toiletries.

Saudi ArabiaThey don't provide slippers. The curtains don't blackout, but it was fine for me as most of the museums and historical sites close by 5 PM so I had to get up early because I wanted to visit more than one place during the day. The hotel is the 3 top floors of a 10-floor building and only one elevator was working and the stairs were not well lit.
The location is very good if you're planning to visit the historical sites as it is in the middle, but going out and coming to the hotel takes time with the traffic during the daytime. The room is spacious and the AC was excellent. There is a bank just next to it if you need to exchange currency.
