Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IndiaThe Tahrir Square view from the hotel is possible only in two rooms out of the 15 they have in the hotel. The rooms are somewhat small, though airconditioned and comfortable. The breakfast is usually a few slices of bread, an egg, and some condiments. Keep expectations realistic and you wont be disappointed.
Tahrir View Hotel has one of the best locations anywhere in Cairo, located as it is on the Tahrir Square, a stone's throw from the Egyptian Museum, and a short ride from the Khan el- Khalili souk. I stayed there from 6 June till 9th June, 3 nights, in 2025. What will stick in my memory is the wonderful staff in the hotel - Heidi, Saad, Fathy, Sara and Abdelrahman. All of them made our stay very comfortable. They were always very helpful. The location is packed with banks, shops and eateries. For Indian visitors I recommend a walk to the Namaste Indian restaurant in the Rameses Hilton, located on the Nile Corniche, just 800 meters away. And, of course, a walk to the Nile embankment was enchantment overload.

United StatesThe room didn’t appear ready… the garbage in the bathroom was half full and the toilet paper roll was almost gone. The sample shampoo and conditioner were used. We needed an additional towel. Although a reasonable price, the supplies could’ve been replenished and the bottom sheet possibly a fitted sheet to stay in place.
The location was great! The breakfast and hospitality was great!

HungaryI really liked that the hotel staff pays attention to the guests' remarks and improves the hotel according their wishes & suggestions. The staff is very kind, attentive and helpful. The breakfast was simple, but delicious and sufficient. The hotel is located at Tahrir Square in an old apartment building, the open entrance of which is right by the M sign of the metro station. There is a stall selling bags and suitcases. It is also very close to the Old Egyptian Museum and the bus station.

ThailandThe location is near Tahrir Square, so it might not be ideal if you’re sensitive to noise from cars and buses, but at night is okay. There isn’t a lift, but the staff is very friendly and will help you carry your luggage if your room is on the third floor. There are quite a few cats around, and you might notice some droppings on the stairs but they are very cute.
The location is absolutely perfect — we could easily get around either by subway or on foot. It was very convenient for visiting the mosque, Khan El Khalili market, and the Nile River. The staff was very friendly and attentive, and he was able to arrange transportation to anywhere we wanted to go.

United StatesLocation is perfect. Clean hotel but smell of cigarettes is everywhere, especially in the lobby. Breakfast is very minimalistic and served after 8 if you ask. One time they gave us boiled eggs, which were not cooked at all. I will not stay there again, because of the cigarets and the breakfast. More chooses around.

At first, I was impressed by the reviews of Al Tahir View Hotel, considering it is a 3-star hotel located in downtown Cairo, Egypt. However, when I arrived at the actual hotel, I was a bit disappointed because I had a different understanding of what a 3-star hotel should be — I expected it to be decent. But upon arrival, I noticed that the hotel is very old. There’s no signage, and the entrance looks like a narrow alley. The room is clean, but the slippers provided were dirty, and they don’t replace the towels. The bed is clean and okay. The attendants are also nice and friendly to the guests. However, the breakfast is not well served, and the reception area is a bit dirty. I would suggest renovating the hotel’s façade and the building itself.

UzbekistanThe hotel located in downtown, close to different touristic sites, like Khan Al Khalili. A small recommendation to the hotel to put outside the plate with the name of the hotel so that guests are not lost. The personnel is very helpful, we asked to change the room, and the receptionist Fathi did it without any extra charge.

Germany• The noise level was quite high, especially in the evening and even around 2-3 AM. Despite side-facing windows, traffic sounds were still loud. • Cleanliness could be improved. • Limited breakfast options, and despite only serving cold items, it took a long time to arrive—so we mostly skipped it. • The hotel was a bit tricky to locate at first. • Water pooled on the bathroom floor after showering, and the water pressure was weak. • The WiFi connection was unreliable.
• The staff was incredibly helpful, friendly, and customer-focused—special thanks to Fathi and the two ladies at the reception. • Prime location right at Tahrir Square, making it easy to explore the city. • They assisted with booking a day tour to the pyramids and ensured everything met expectations. • Smooth and fast communication, plus a complimentary bottle of water in the fridge.

GermanyPositive: + super helpful, kind & customer oriented staff (especially Fathi & the other 2 women at the reception) + excelent location + provided help with booking a daytour for the pyramids and also made sure the service provided was as required + clear & fast communication + welcome water in the fridge + got a bigger room (with two beds) even if i booked for 1 person Negative: - loud noises in the evening and at some point even during the night at 2-3 am + since it as the Tahrir square, even if the windows are on the side, u can hear the insane trafic noises - cleanliness needs a lil improvement - no variety at breakfast & even if just cold stuff was served, it took forever to get it, so we mostly skipped it - a lil difficult to find at first - in the bathroom the water stood on the floor after showering & low water pressure while showering - wifi didn‘t work properly - the view through the window not the most charming - room for the breakfast looks like it is still work in progress

TurkeyOur stay was very pleasant, and the cleanliness of the hotel was excellent. There were no issues in that regard. However, some of the furniture and amenities seem to be 20-30 years old and could benefit from an update. A refresh would definitely enhance the overall experience. Other than that, everything was great
Our stay was absolutely amazing thanks to the outstanding service provided by the staff. The attention to detail and willingness to assist with every request made our experience truly exceptional. They were always available to help with anything we needed, and we even had the flexibility to change our room without any extra charge. This level of hospitality is rare to find, and we truly appreciate it. Highly recommended

JapanAvoid this hotel at all costs. The only good thing about this place is the location, but everything else was a disaster. • The room I booked was not available, so I was pushed into a tiny room. • The shower was broken, and even after waiting 30 minutes for repairs, there was still no hot water. • The sheets were dirty, the towels smelled awful, and the cleaning was clearly not done properly. • At night, they started construction work inside the hotel — extremely noisy, even though staff promised it would last only “10 seconds.” • The name says “View Hotel,” but there was absolutely no view. Completely misleading. This was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. If you value cleanliness, comfort, or honesty, do not stay here.
