Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

PortugalFinding the hotel was a bit of a challenge as Google Maps would route you through some very small roads, but the location is correct, and we just needed to find the correct road to get there.
The hotel is in a very calm location, and the bungalow we stayed in was spacious and very comfortable for me, my wife and two kids. The boat to take you to the other side of the Nile River was a nice surprise, and the restaurant space and the pool were clean and well organised.

NetherlandsHotel arranged a transfer from the airport at midnight, but when we were in the car the police stopped the car at the airport because of problems with the papers. In the end we arrived at the hotel, but this was inconvenient especially because it was at night with children. Hotel said it was Egypt authorities.
Nice location at the West Bank of the Nile. Extra touch is the free boat service to go to the east bank. The hotel has a lot of space for children with a pool table and pool. The room was a charming house with a lot of space. Breakfast was good. Dinner ok too. It’s possible to rent bikes for exploring the West Bank.

ItalyMany small things can be improved here and there, but indeed small things and if you are not looking for 5 standard, the place is worth every penny
The hotel is in a very quiet area on the west bank. It is indeed the opposite of the chaotic east bank. True that downtown, bazar and the temples are in the east side but the hotel provides free rides on their boat in both directions. And crossing the Nile is always better than any other road. Main activities have been Luxor archaeological sites. However The pool table and the ping pong also provided me and my daughter with great ime when we were not just sitting in front of the river. he pool was open but in January... The staff was always super kind. A special thanks to Saad for the touristic hints and the pleasant chats on any subject.

MaltaNo Wifi in any of the rooms though they have said that they're going to change this....It's very nice to sit at the restaurant and use the wifi but if like me you work online it can be a bit annoying.... Saying that I'm writing this now from the hotel and enjoying the comfortable and very picturesque setting...:)...listening to the boats go past and background prayers humming in the distance.
I had a wonderful stay at Al Baeirat! I flew in late at night and was seamlessly picked up in a complimentary taxi and then sailed across the quiet evening waters of the Nile in the hotels small private ferry boat. It was the perfect way to arrive in this amazingly magical place. Ahmed lugged my bags all the way off the boat, past the river side pool and along the picturesque pathway to my very cute Bungalow. I loved it instantly.....large entrance hall with full wall length mirror and big cupboards for clothes, the main bedroom had a high round ceiling and arches, two big comfy beds to choose from, a small safe, plus beautiful murals painted on the walls. Outside all the bungalows have their own private gardens with sofas and low lighting in the evenings. The restaurant is directly onto the Nile and you have a choice of either tables with benches or large, lounge sofas with big marble table in the middle.....Large breakfast in the morning and if you like real coffee ask for the Turkish coffee as otherwise you will get a Nescafe cappuccino. That's the same in most places though..... The staff and in particular Saad were super friendly and we had tranquil evenings outside around the fire with some of the other guys playing local drums and singing...This is what anyone who knows India calls a shanti place :) The guys will help you to get taxis or Tuk tuks to the sights or if like me you want to check out the local hood, its a short walk onto the Main Street where a tuk tuk or taxi will shortly stop and you can barter for the price.... The hotel is extremely conveniently placed making it very easy to get to either East or West Bank sites.... I totally loved this place and will definately be back! Thankyou Al Baeirat!

United KingdomEverything was great, honestly. Thank you everyone. If we ever come back to Luxor, we will be seeing you again.
We absolutely loved this place. This authentic hotel by the river has large, clean rooms and is very comfortable. There is a boat available any time you need to cross the river and the view is magnificent. Breakfast was good. We had the beef goulash here one day and it was very delicious. What made this special for us was the staff. Rafat was an absolute star, helped us with everything. Everyone felt genuine and nice. My mom and I had the best time.

Very peaceful and quiet location. Taking the free boat to the east bank (and back) is very convenient. The main sites on the west bank are not so far away, a short taxi ride (or a long walk) is all that's needed.

Polandthe access to the hotel is via a boat from the city centre provided for free by the hotel, however the pier side of the hotel needs to be built, as you practically jump from the boat to the steep slope of sand and it can be dangerous during night. that said, it is fair to say the owner started to work on the access when we were leaving. the breakfast could be better, they do not tell you all your options, just bring you some yoghurts, bread, fruit, cheese and you do not know you can ask for an omelette or eggs - and yes, you can
the best thing about this place is its atmosphere of a small local hotel surrounded by a nice garden. it is a very peaceful place. the manager was very nice and helpful, spoke a good english which is rare in egypt, gave us all the information we needed, was always available when we needed something, the place was clean, a boat to the city centre was always available for guests for free

RussiaSmall downside— WiFi is only around cafe area. But is it really the downside to surf with a view on the Nile? Same relates to TV. Do you really need TV on a trip to Egypt? OK. If you need — big plasma is at your service.
Amazing place on the Nile bank. Quiet. Green. Relaxing. Outside motorways in a village. Own boat dock and a motor boat. Nice pool and area around. Pool and tennis tables. Big hall for group meditations. Located on the West bank where most Luxor attractions are located. Very friendly helpful staff. Tasty food (our regards, chef). We didn’t need to find a cafe anywhere. Big clean traditional and modern bungalows in garden decorated in Egyptian old style. Absolutely clean (cleaning everyday) rooms. Comfortable beds. Roomy bathroom. Hot water runs like a waterfall. Everything works. I would write more but better look at photos.

United KingdomFresh coffee and juice would be nice with breakfast.
We loved this place. Low key, quiet and with bags of character and a lovely pool to relax in away from the hustle and bustle of Luxor (but that's only a quick boat across the Nile away when you want it which was fun in its self). We asked Omar to organise our trips and guides for us as well as a car to the coast at the end of our stay. Sure, we could of done it a little cheaper but I think it's well worth it to have the hassle taken out of it and get reliable guides and drivers which makes such a difference on a trip to somewhere like Egypt. Omar had great contacts to make this happen. Our guide (Laila) was absolutely fabulous. Her knowledge was great and we felt totally comfortable in her company. The whole team on site were friendly and helpful. The rooms are lovely (we don't like white box-like hotel rooms!). Thoroughly recommend this place!

United KingdomFrom the moment I arrived Rafat (hotel manager) was on hand to help out with anything, from booking sunrise hot air balloon experience, excursions to different sites, a lift to local masseuse or the shop, nothing, was too much trouble. All the staff were also great, friendly, attentive and courteous. The hotel is a little sanctuary on the West Bank making it within easy travelling distance to lots of different visiting sites and a free boat over to the East Bank. The seating area outside the room was just the most beautiful place in the morning, full of bird song. Couldn't have asked for a better way to spend my last few days in Egypt before flying home 10/10
