Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

FranceMagnificent hotel! Every comfort, the room was large, clean, comfortable, with air-conditioning, an incredible view of the pyramids through the large windows, a very warm welcome, very attentive staff... a very comfortable oriental-style lounge with a view of the pyramids, all for a very small price! Without doubt the best hotel we had in Egypt. Thank you very much for your welcome!

MalaysiaThe clogging drain in the bathroom, the dusty carpet, the not well-maintained compound.
There was confusion about our room, but luckily, our travel agent sorted it out with the workers. The location is quite difficult to find as it is located in an alley. Close to Oscar's, there are ATMs, a bakery & a supermarket, just within 50 meters. The surrounding area is dirty, like anywhere in Giza. Don't expect it to be a 3-star accommodation. It is a round-down place, but the bed is comfortable & no bed bugs. However, the bathroom drains clogged badly & you can't control the water heater. It is boiling most of the time. The lift is the most authentic experience here. Breakfast was the same every day. Whatsapp Mr. Salah (the owner) the time you want to have the breakfast.

GermanyGreat location. My deluxe room was big, comfortable and clean. The view from the room is breathtaking, you can see the pyramids when you wake up. It's only 15 min of walk from the guest house to the Giza plateau. The area is safe and has supermarkets, restaurants and pharmacies nearby. The host was very nice and helpful. Highly recommended.

United KingdomOscar's Place offers the best view in the Giza area, perfectly aligned with the Great Pyramid. The rooftop terrace provides a cozy atmosphere for dining, reading a book, meditating, or enjoying the company of friends. The standout feature of Oscar's Place is its exceptional hospitality. Throughout my stay, I felt at home and completely comfortable, with all my needs met. If you need assistance with tours or anything else, just ask Oscar and Amr, the manager. They are open-minded, easygoing, and ready to help with whatever you need. They can create amazing experiences tailored to your time in Egypt. During my five-day stay, I went on two guided tours with them and had a fantastic time. The room has a beautiful view of the Giza Pyramids, and the internet is fast enough for Zoom calls and remote work. They also offer airport transportation assistance. I want to extend my gratitude to my amazing guides and new friends, Oscar and Amr, and everyone who made these five unforgettable days in Egypt possible.

Amr was amazing! Don’t go to Cairo without his guiding hand! Everything I needed he went out of his way to help. The room was big and the bed was comfy… not to mention the view is better than if you stayed by the sphinx. Honestly, it doesn’t get better! I’m coming back and I won’t stay anywhere other than here!

NetherlandsIt's very noisy around the building. Sleeping was a bit difficult because of that. Also, the apartment itself isn't that pretty. It's very functional, though. Unfortunately we booked a double bed, but we only got single beds, which would have been significantly cheaper to book.
The view is the best. The pyramids wake you up every day. Staff was very friendly and willing to help.

SlovakiaCLEAN, COMFORTABLE and GREAT VALUE accommodation with the most HELPFUL, WELCOMING and GENUINE hosts. About the hosts: I can’t praise Amr enough! He has not only been an amazing host but has become our dear friend during our stay. From the first moment he made our holiday so easy and was looking out for our best interest! He came to pick us up from Cairo airport at 3:00 AM in the morning , drove us to the pharmacy when I had a stomach ache (not Pharaoh’s disease), and made us great breakfast and coffee every day. Amr is also a certified guide so he helped us plan our days, was our guide on some of our day trips and gave us recommendations for things to do. We can’t thank him enough for such a fantastic time! About the accommodation: My boyfriend and I have stayed in the Family room for 7 nights. Honestly, for the money that we payed we got way more than what we expected! We had a lovely spacious room with a massive double bed, a small but functional bathroom and a stunning view of the Pyramids and Sphinx from the 13th floor of an apartment building. Most importantly our room was clean. The living room is shared between three rooms so it’s not crowded. The view from the rooftop is breathtaking and the hosts really put in the extra effort to make the space comfortable, clean, stylish and very “instagrammable”. About the location: Just remember: Cairo/Giza is an incredibly busy city with a lot of people, traffic, old buildings and quite dirty streets. But this is everywhere! The building that we stayed in is in a SAFE area with shops and restaurants close by. Immerse yourself in the culture! The elevator (lift) in the building works with a remote control. Just text Amr and he will bring you the keys. Top Tip: Once you book your stay reach out to Amr (host) through Booking or WhatsApp. He is super helpful and quick with his responses and will answer all your questions so you know what to expect.

BelgiumI think the shower and shower amenities could receive a bit more love. But this was just a minor issue.
Oscar's guest house has a near perfect location. The rooftop is probably one of the last & tallest buildings facing the Giza pyramids. This guarantees a great view in the morning at breakfast and a calming sunset with this magnificent view. The rooftop is very cosy accomodated with plants, a large area with pillows and even sunchairs. I also really enjoyed the vegetarian/Egyptian breakfast that was provided and the very welcoming staff. Thanks to the high level at 13th floor and the quiet neighborhood, it's also a very relaxing place and comfortable bed, in contrast with a rather hectic Cairo city that never sleeps.

AustraliaDisliked · Constant street noise of Giza came through with the cool night air because I enjoyed having the window open in my room. Maybe other travellers might want to consider ear plugs, or close the window & use the aircon.
Dietary requirements (GF) were catered for with any meal we ordered. Fresh local foods & excellent service was always provided, with an easygoing willingness to offer satisfaction for guests - no request was too much trouble. Amr & Ali graciously served the food for each meal and cleared everything away when we finished. Oscar was an excellent host and a knowledgeable, honest guide for the Giza Plateau pyramids. The accommodation has a good elevator & occupies the 13th floor of the building looking almost directly at the pyramids. There was a most exquisite view of the 3 pyramids from our room - absolutely breathtaking - and from the spacious terrace (accessed by a few steps above the rooms).

The rooftop is amazing. Great view to the pyramids. A morning meditation while looking over the pyramids is very special. The staff make you feel home and are super friendly. It was a great stay. The building is a bit old, but the lift a real experience. :)
