How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThe view of the pyramids was amazing! We had plenty of space between our two bedrooms, 2 baths, the living room, and the terrace. Our hosts were willing to help with arranging cars and tours, carrying stuff up the stairs with us, and Ahmed helped us get needed things for our kids like a plastic bin for our bath baby. The shower water was hot. The AC unit in the bedroom worked. It was close to restaurants and shops for water or snacks.
It was so loud outside that our 2 year old refused to sleep in her own room. She was scared on the horses galloping, dogs fighting, 1am fireworks. We also felt like there may have been cheaper options but we did not research well enough ahead of time, so Ahmed arranged drivers and tours for us every day (but there were additional costs). For example, we paid $35 for a driver (who was fantastic!) but then learned that he was not a tour guide so we ended up paying an additional $40 for a museum tour. Some of the beds were very springy and the couch is well worn.

Verified review+ The owner was very friendly - helped to organize our trip to pyramids and to the deserts (Black and White deserts), he was always available in WhatsApp, kept our room available through all our journey to be able to have a rest at the room/use the bathroom - when we came back from 1 trip to another. + The view from the roof is just amazing!! + Best value for the money, including nice breakfast with Turkish coffee.
- It was a bit loud outside in the night and early morning, but still we could rest and slept well.

Verified reviewOur host was extremely kind and attentive, and made sure that we had a wonderful stay. Perfect communication. The location is within walking distance of the pyramids and the view from the rooftop terrace was fantastic. This is a rustic stay in the heart of old Giza. Very convenient with a small store directly opposite the building entrance. The beds were very comfortable. The kids on the street were super sweet with us when we went outside! This is the real experience of Egypt, not fancy hotels but the real people. Only slight downside, it was a bit noisy from the street with horse hooves! recommend ear plugs if you are a light sleeper. My kids never heard it though!

Verified reviewAhmed is a great host. Amir is a great private driver. I really recommend them both🙂 This accommodation cannot be beaten for it's location. I cannot impress on you enough how close you are to the pyramids. From our private balcony we could see the closest pyramid. From the rooftop you can see all four pyramids and the Sphinx. There are also city views and you can see the pigeon lofts. The pyramids are lit up in changing colours so you can get great photos and videos whilst you have snacks. The apartment is a bit cold in early February. There are plenty of duvets and plush blankets which we took up to the roof. There is an electric heater. A kettle, tea and a small fridge are provided. Take your own tea and coffee for home comfort. Gold, ornate furniture worthy of the Big Brother house or King Tut himself is there plus a coffee table for breakfast delivered to your timing. It is the same every day. Cream cheese, yellow cheese, Happy Cow triangles. Hard boiled eggs, tons of soft bread rolls, jam, honey and halva. A bottle of water each. Ahmed will offer you his trips including one on a boat etc. We stayed 5 nights and we're pleased with what we managed to fit in. It is important to say that had I insisted on doing everything myself as I normally do, I would have wasted a lot of time trying to get around. I suggest you bite the bullet and pay for stress free airport pickup, being driven by lovely Amir to Giza, Saqqara, Memphis and Dashur. We did go to the perfume shop which is actually essential oils. It's a hard sell. I bought a gorgeous Lotus oil. My highlight was the Egyptian Museum and King Tutankhamen of course. You can take photos everywhere except in King Tuts gallery. I am nerdy so I stayed a full 6 hours including a quick delicious coffee in the courtyard through the gift shop. The dusty, musty atmosphere is awesome. There is gallery after gallery of artifacts.
There are no duvet covers on the duvets. Very strange. When you shower the water floods into the bedroom.

Verified reviewPrice and Location. Facing Khufu’s pyramid, this hotel locates within 3 min walk to the entrance of Giza area. The host, Papa Ahmed, was attentive and capable of my humble requests. I recommend this hotel to the experienced travelers who don’t expect much from the accommodations in this price range. Since Papa Ahmed doesn’t show any signboard outside, you’ll have to take his offer of the airport pickup. My flight landed at 4:00am, the driver picked us up on time, and Papa Ahmed received us at the entrance at 600am, and took us the room, even offering breakfast at 5 USD/pax.
The shower space might be improved since the floor level is equal to others which caused the overall bathroom floor flooded after taking a shower. Note: Papa Ahmed only accepts cash not credit cards. Don’t forget to prepare USD or EUR in cash. Tips: you can exchange money at a mini mart near the hotel who got me 45EP/1USD (5000EP/100USD) while Papa Ahmed gave me 35EP/1USD. You can get a can of beer there, too. Check the shop just in front of Kushariery.

Verified reviewIt was the perfect place to stay at near the pyramids. Ahmed is an amazing host; he went above and beyond to make sure everything was in perfect condition. The service provide was unparalleled. He took me to find dinner and other things and showed me the area. In addition to the room which has an attached bathroom, you also get a large living area and a pyramid view balcony. Being the tallest of the buildings in the neighborhood, you get an unobstructed view of four pyramids, hence the name. I’d definitely come again and recommend it to others.

Verified reviewWe chose a two-bedroom room, everything was clean, including toiletries, linens and pillows. The balcony sees one of the pyramids, it has a very beautiful terrace and you can see all three pyramids with a very beautiful view. If you are going to stay in Giza, you can choose it. The breakfast may not suit your taste completely, but it was clean.
I would prefer more breakfast options

Verified reviewI had a wonderful stay here! The little balconies with chairs were perfect for some relaxed people and horse-watching on the little narrow street below. Plus, the partial view of the Great Pyramid from there made it feel like I was right at its feet. The host was fantastic, incredibly accommodating, and super helpful with my travel plans. He even waited for me outside, so checking in was a breeze. I truly enjoyed my stay.
