Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe "handicap accessibility" was not very good, unfortunately. It was comprised of a portable ramp placed over steep stairs. Fortunately, I can hang on to railings (which it had)--but if I were dependent on a wheelchair--it would have been SCARY. The descent was too steep.
We LOVED the up-grade to the Zen Deluxe room--it was tastefully elegant!

IrelandHotel mgmt try to save money in every possible way (only one person working at the reception so be prepared to wait for check-in and check-out, not enough staff during breakfast, slow internet, basic TV channels, no smart TV, no regular room cleaning, minimum number of towels, basic breakfast food offer, etc.). Also the false advertising of "a former castle", while majority of people stay at the nearby cottage (check my photo). The automatic doors sometimes work, sometimes not. The cottage main door opened with a room card sometimes open the first try, sometimes you'll spend 5 mins. The pool and sauna are very expensive and in 7 days never seen anyone using them. We asked three times for our room cleaning, only once someone came and cleaned. The bathtub is leaking because protective screen is not sealed properly (no showers, you have to sit to avoid flood).
Good location next to the city center, public transport station, main railway station, restaurants and various sights. Room was nice and of decent size, even though it was on top floor so the ceiling is not everywhere flat (mind your head).

KenyaThere was no Body Lotion in the bathroom, and no bathroom slippers. A bottle of water in the room would also add to comfort. When elderly guess arrive, there should be someone to assist with getting luggage up the entrance stars and even to the room.
Great location, beautiful building, good decoration.

Lithuania1. Terrible pillows! You have 2 of them - one is very high and very small (your head hardly fits on it) and the other one is large, but even higher. We both had backaches and stiff shoulders in the morning because of these pillows:-( 2. Cheating policy! They refuse to explain parking rules in Tallinn and the meaning of their road signs and tries to convince you to pay 15 Eur for parking in their backyard. We asked, if parking is free on Saturdays (as we saw the road sign saying that), the guy said "I don't know", then we showed the road sign and asked what it means and the guy said "I don't know, I park my car for 7 Eur a day". Well, I never thought that Estonia is such a country where drivers could be let to drive without knowing the meaning of the road signs...;-) That cheating was really pitiful! Finally we decided to follow the road signs and parked our car in Kesklinn street close to the entrance to their own parking lot for free for the whole weekend and saved 15 eur. It is really safe there. 3. One of the rudest receptionists I've ever met - no smiles, somewhat mocking tone and all the answers were "I don't know" (e.g. when checking in I saw one guest taking a hair dryer and asked if there is a hair dryer in the room). 4. Many stairs - you climb a flight of stairs to the reception, then you get down to the garden, walk to the other building, climb another flight of stairs to your room... The restaurant is also in another building. 5. They played disgusting russian music in the restaurant in the evening. 6. No conditioner, no toiletries (just some soap and shampoo). To get the internet password you need to scan QR code and scroll though a text in Estonian to find it. Toilet near the reception is locked - you need to ask a key to use it.
Small, but very nice, clean and cosy room, good location next to the old town. Classical design corresponds to the spirit of the historical building. Wonderful breakfast - good food and wide choice. Street parking is free in the weekends (since Saturday 15h00 till Monday morning).

The location of the hotel was very good, near the old city ..the design of my room was so authentic..perfectly fits with the soul of the city wood & stones .. like the medieaval age..

United StatesCould have been cleaner. Hadn’t been dusted in a bit and I found someone else’s hair tie with hair in it on the floor next to my bed. Ick. It wasn’t a great value for the money.
It was a great location and definitely convenient.

United KingdomMy only regret is that i realised too late that there was both a spa in the basement and a jacuzzi in our room.
Beautiful old building next to the Old Town, with friendly staff that gave helpful information in excellent English. Great breakfast in the cellar. There is also a bar/library and a courtyard. When we arrived there was a wedding reception outside our window but still quiet inside. One of my all time favourite hotels.

NorwayA bit overpriced for Tallin. Double bed for two persons was quite small and with thin mattress. Room size a bit small too. During check in the receptionist asked to fill in a paper form what I refused to do since a fast check in process was offered already via a website (I got SMS for that) where relevant questions were already asked and answered by me. I wanted to get a room with bathtub but it was not available during check in. Shower area was not properly designed with a lot of water leaking from the shower to the bathroom floor.
Location, old building with high ceilings, good breakfast. Friendly receptionist.

United KingdomCheck in was an issue. Queues of people and only one person to check people in (3pm). Not only that my room was not ready as was the people in front of me. People arriving later were able to access rooms! Check in process needs to be revised as does the cleaning process to ensure all rooms are ready from 3pm.
Location was very good just outside the old town but very close to the main Railway Station and on a direct bus from the Airport (Bus 2). The ferry terminal can be done in a brisk 30 minute walk or via bus/tram. The building has been tastefully refurbished and the rooms are very comfortable with full bath and shower facilities and excellent WIFI. There is also a nice courtyard to sit out in when the weather allows this. The breakfast is very good with very fresh ingredients and plenty of choice.

LatviaThe misunderstanding about the description of the room: if it’s written Room with the spa bath, for me is the Spa access. In reality the room came with the scratched bath with hydromassage option. The rooms are very small, a little bit old and our waste bin in bathroom was not cleaned, however the problem was solved immediately after the call to reception and the lady cleaning apologised 1000 times.
The location is fantastic, close to the old town and all city locations. Excellent breakfast. Very comfortable bed with topper. SPECIAL THANKS TO KEVIN, the reception manager who made our stay nice and solved all our problems in 5 minutes. Really human attention and great service.
