How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewOne night stay on the way from Tallinn to Latvia. Ok place for this purpose as there doesn´t seem to be much happening near by. You do need a car for this place. Free parking near the hotel and a lot of room to wonder around outside. Quite nice on a sunny summer evening. Many little places to explore and also a few goats to see. Our 5 year old was happy to roam around. Breakfast was included but quite small and would not pay extra for it.
Our room had two levels and two single beds both upstairs and downstairs. This would have been ok otherwise, but the guard railing on the upper level was actually quite dangerous! The gaps between poles were really wide and could probably fit an adult coming through them. We travelled with a 5 year old, so this was a big scare as we did not notice this before the kid was already upstairs. In the end we all slept downstairs and pushed the single beds together. So keep this in mind if you travel with children. I would have given a better rating than 7 if this wasn´t the case. Otherwise, the building and the place as a whole did seem to have a lot of potential to be a beautiful hotel, but in the end everything was a bit shabby. Maybe have less clutter of ornaments and a bit of an update on the interior design. There was actually some work happening outside and they were either building or remodeling some cabins/saunas. So maybe some changes will come for the main building as well. At the time of out arrival there seemed to be only one staff member around and they were handling the check in and the restaurant (both cooking and waiting?). So be prepared to wait a bit or to go find the staff to check you in and out.

Verified reviewWe were amazed by the design and the beautiful wooden interior details and furniture. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and everything was spotlessly clean. Breakfast was perfect and absolutely delicious. We were especially impressed by the local products — one of the best surprises was the homemade bread, jam, and omelette. The view of the garden from the restaurant was stunning.

Verified reviewWe had to stay in this hotel due our trip back home . Our room was clean, simple and nice. Had breakfast next morning- not much of choice but enough. I am traveling a lot but never in any hotel had such tasty omelet. Pancakes with homemade apple jam was something super brilliant tasty !!! Thank you !
It would be nice to install soap also in the shower not only at sink :)

Verified reviewExtremely friendly and welcoming staff, who helped us accommodate during very late hours. Everything in the description was available, as well as a nice view of the garden from our window.
It got quite hot and stuffy in the room during the summer night…

Verified reviewEasy to access from the highway so a nice place to stay overnight when travelling midway. Hotel has its historic aura, seems that a lot of thought was put into the decorations. The breakfast was nice - both the variaty and the opportunity to have it in a sun-lit terrace. The outside territory of the hotel is set up for some walks and relaxation too.
Hotel has a distinct smell, like of cat piss throughout all the building. Perhaps its just the old stuff there. It was very unfotunate that the window could not be opened. Not all power outlets work, some are just for the looks. I had an ood room - four bed room for one travaler where the toilet has a large glass window (which could be closed with blinds).
Hello! We did have an incident where a wild cat got into the hotel and hid in the hotel common areas for 24 hours. We spent the next two days removing the urine smell. The smell has now been removed. We are very sorry for the situation.

Verified reviewExcellent stop on the way but would be lovely to stay there longer. Really beautiful surroundings, well kept garden and interesting old buildings. Staff was truly welcoming, and the breakfast was excellent. Great value for the money.
Everything good!
