How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewWe had an exceptional lunch , with lovely service. The food is local and beautifully presented in a comfortable dinning room with beautiful rooms. This was low season, so very quiet.
Because of the season and a late booking we could not order an early breakfast before we left. This was a shame because the restaurant food was lovely.

Verified reviewThat was my second time I visited this place for my birthday. Unfortunately there was a very heavy snow storm at arriving time and we've been late, but despite this fact person at reception was still waiting us - that is like in real castle , such respect and service! As it was my birthday and a table in restaurant was booked, personnel called me in advance and checked what I would prefer and explained what items they have in menu and what are not available. There was a separate hall dedicated for our dinner. Service and food - five stars! There might be some lacks in room, but please check the list what is provided there, so you would not be disappointed later. We knew where we go and what to wait for. Personnel is very friendly, if some problems just call or ask - help will be immediately! Very professional!

Verified reviewIt is maintained with excellence and being a historical site itself, it felt like staying in the museum with beautiful portraits and antique furniture. Very high quality.
Nothing to dislike about the property.

Verified reviewI proposed to my fiancée on the beautiful terrace of the Benckendorff Suite. The view was stunning, overseeing the falls, especially in the afternoon sun. We celebrated with a wonderful Crémant brought to us by the waiter. After, we headed to the restaurant where we were served a five-course meal with the wine package. In the past we have been in many high end restaurants in Estonia, but this one tops it all with the service, taste and ambiance. The suite and the manor was even better that we expected. It really feels royal and expensive. The standalone bath easily fits two people and was very relaxing and romantic. They offer high quality soaps and conditioner from Rituals which was nice to see. The bed itself is huge and probably the most comfy bed in any hotel. In the morning we were served breakfast in the suite. We had it in the adjacent room which was perfect for a morning croissant and capuccino. The breakfast service itself was at the top level with warm dishes served beautifully on a plate. The manor building and the gardens are so beautiful and instagrammable :) And lastly to mention that we visited the museum to familiarise with the history of the place. Truly a stay to remember!
For us the lights in the bathroom were a bit too bright. We used one living room lamp which was more dim and worked great for a romantic atmosphere. Everything else was great!

Verified reviewI normally do not write any reviews, but this place is off the charts. First I thought that the car park was quite far away from the entrance door, but when we left the location, it felt perfect. Just like everything in this place. It was like parking yourself in a comfy bubble where nothing can harm you. Even the television in the room was able to connect with my phone, so we could watch our favorite series using SmartView. Watching Succession in this environment was like bending into the plot. If we could afford it, we could probably land on a helicopter in front of the Schloss, next to the Venus statue. There was a wedding event in the place in the evening, but we were still able to dine a "short four-course dinner" without disturbing the party. Or them disturbing us. There was no hurry and no pressure to get out of the table. And of course we would have wanted to have a peek of the festivities. I've had a few breakfasts served or fought in a buffet with other customers. Here we were guided to a table with good selection waiting there, and got asked for preferences about the still missing parts, like coffee and warm portions. All in peace and good service. This place easily earned top-5 placement in my lifetime breakfast experiences.
This is a historical place. You should not fix too much of the surroundings. There isn't anything to not like about this place. Personally, I would have liked to recharge my car overnight, but this place will follow suit when the time is right. Just like the old oak trees planted in the yard few hundred years ago were to be used as repair material for the roof when the original wood rotted away. This world should be run based on centuries, not quarters.
