Very cute b&b, each room has its own unique charm. Close to downtown but just far enough to be in quiet location. I can’t say enough good things about the host. The hospitality is outstanding. I felt very welcomed and cared for. I was feeling unwell and she went above and beyond to make sure I was ok and offer help. It is so appreciated and I will recommend to anyone who visits Galapagos Santa Cruz 🙏🏻

Had a great stay at la fortaleza. It was clean and comfortable, with nice common areas to relax. Perfect location - on the edge of the park so it's very quiet and peaceful, but only a 5-10 minute walk from the main part of town. Breakfast each day was nice. And the owners were very helpful and welcoming.

The check-out time was unexpectedly early (10 AM).

The character of the hosts and the character of the hotel. The primary hostess, Gianna, was born for this role. A people person by nature, her fun-loving spirit, social curiosity, and caregiving nature, will make you feel welcomed, supported, and appreciated. She goes beyond the call. The building itself is teaming with novelty, bells, and whistles. You'll want to explore every nook and cranny of this historic building. A refreshing change from the humdrum of chain hotels. The facilities were reliable. I especially appreciated the user friendly shower, and its well regulated pressure and temperature. A rarity at most hotels these days. The location is underrated. It is like a five minute walk from the main drag, and a twenty minute walk from the furthest point of the main drag. Its comparatively secluded location adds to the feeling of retreat.

The only drawback was it wasn’t located directly in town but just a short distance so not a big deal; walking around was easy to get to each destination.

The hosts were amazing! Full of knowledge and help/support with suggestions of activities and excursions to do. They also helped us navigate traveling between the islands which we wouldn’t normally have known without further research.

Quirky property, just out of town, 7 minute walk, close to Darwin Station for a walk. Loved my stay, my room over looked the National Park and was very tranquil on the terraces. Pool was lovely. Breakfast was freshly made to order and plentiful.

Located in a quiet area, the place is very beautiful and cozy. The staff were very helpful and knowledgeable. The place was clean.

The main drawback was that breakfast starts at 7:30, while most day trips start earlier than this, such that we were only able to enjoy it one day.

Loved the view and the concept of the hotel. Our room had two balconies, which were great to have. The hotel is next to the forrest, so we had an amazing view and fewer neighbors than one may expect. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, and we loved the pool.

This unique location — a fortress — offered superb accommodation for my tour group. The Tower room offered excellent opportunities for morning birdwatching; all rooms were clean; staff were very friendly and helpful with offers of maps, local sights, and opportunity for local activity bookings; breakfast was served fresh and promptly each morning; and the location is in a quieter and secure neighbourhood (El Eden). This was by far the favourite accommodation among tour guests compared with two other similarly priced locations in Galapagos (Santa Cruz and Isabela). I cannot say enough good things about La Fortaleza and look forward to returning with more guests in the future. A big thanks to hosts Gianna and Roberto!

Wonderful place to stay and we were made to feel incredibly welcome by our great hosts who were really helpful with great information about the island and tours etc!! An easy 5 minute stroll on to the main street and an abundance of great choices to eat, drink and arrange tours. Room was spotlessly clean and the facilities and ambience were superb. How often do you get to stay in a castle on the Galapagos!? Highly recommended!!

La Fortaleza is a very interesting and unique property. You can tell the owners put a lot of care and thought into building the property, it is not a “cookie cutter” hotel. We stayed in the Tower Suite and it was perfect for us. There was a very nice outdoor area with the suite as well. The air conditioner worked well which we really appreciated as it got hot during the day while we were there. The WiFi worked very well throughout our stay. Gianna, the host, was very warm and friendly and very helpful in setting up some fantastic tours for us. There is a nice pool on the property although we did not take advantage of it. The property is located in a very peaceful and quiet section of town.

Property its self very unique, every one know Castle shape building, close to the beach and Charles Darwin Foundation, very easy and quick to rich most popular places in the city , restaurants,shops, souvenirs stores. Extremely friendly knowledgeable owner , always ready to help with any questions and also can help with organizing your plans,how to mostly effectively spend your time on beautiful Galápagos Islands . So good tasty breakfast and very clean rooms . I am very happy with my choice, that was truly lovely time to stay my entire vocation in this amazing place , I called “my house” , so nice and warm , comfortable and so easy to been there like home .

We loved this place - so different and so wonderful! Large, comfortable rooms. Hot shower. The pool was a great place to cool off at the end of the day! Great location - only five minutes from the centre of town. Gianna and Roberto couldn’t have been better hosts - they make you feel like part of the family.
